  • "He is moving like a tremendous machine"

When I heard that in the 2010 movie, "Secretariat" and then found out it was the exact quote from the commentator at this point, my heart just blew.

  • The greatest jus the greatest the more horses now and days who can't win the triple crown makes Secretariat even more special. The name even fits his character...jus powerful.

  • Such a treasure to see footage of the race after so many years have passed. As a 17 year old kid, such feats seemed normal during that era. Muhammed Ali was beating all challengers and all his fights were televised. We had football greats, Basketball greats and baseball greats so it was easy as a kid to take this magnificent horse for granted with all the other"greats" surrounding us. But the others have been surpassed and Secretariat remains the greatest.

  • I am a huge sports fan im crazy about it, but im not into horse racing, Ive witnessed moments in sports history, Maradona, in world cups, Jorden in basketball, Senna in F1, Peyton Manning in the NFL. This is the most amazing thing ive ever seen I was Not even born when Scretariat Won this Race. There is something about this horse that really touches my heart.

  • Still the greatest athletic performance that I've ever seen, in ANY sport.

  • i heard that sham n Sec were cousins or something. with that much talent i wouldnt be supprised

  • Poor Sham. I've watched this clip a hundred times and only just realized that Sham was shot out of the gate like a cannon. He was burned out in no time. Martin and Pincay ruined that horse in the Belmont and it's a damn shame. ;(

  • @GeorgeCarlinIsInHel1 HE DIDNT TAKES STEROIDS! WHY CANT YOU IDIOTS UNDERSTAND???? HE HAD A 22LB HEART! HE RAN FAST BECAUSE IT WAS LIKE AN ADRENALINE RUSH!

  • @dickran2142battle I do agree with you for this point , i don't think he used Steroid pure talent it would have come up in the drug test and why would they bother ,

  • @adele375 true you are!

  • @GeorgeCarlinIsInHel1 - Kills you...doesn't it that Secretariat is the greatest horse ever...deal with it ASSHOLE & stick your fantasy allegations up your #$#@#&%*!!!!!!

  • @Dannykeith46 : So immature please how can he be the greatest you must be a one horse type of person learn the history books outside American racing outside the triple crown and then come back to me .

  • @adele375 - Immature? When a horse accomplishes over a lifetime what SEC did in a SINGLE season you can intelligently respond to my post. Until then, I will simply file you as another retard that has nothing but disdain for everything associated with America including the GREATEST THOROUGHBRED RACE HORSE EVER - SECRETARIAT! At 3 years old - 2 Official World Records (1 STILL STANDING), 2 "unofficial STILL STANDING World Records", 4 STILL STANDING track records..need I say more!

  • A Legendary Moment indeed.

  • Without doubt the greatest thing that has ever lived with 4 legs....

His record in the Belmont will never be broken.

"He is moving like a tremendous machineeeee..."

    * gets goosebumps *

  • I want a horse :-)

  • Oh Happy day,!!!!

  • Secretariat IS all alone...

  • HE IS MOVING LIKE A TREMENDOUS MACHINE!!!!!!! XD

  • Nice touch on the music

  • Ever wonder why Secretariat is always remembered?

Because he keeps up with history and time with his thunderous speed

while the weak tremble and fall into the abyss of history.

truly a one of a kind, that history cannot maintain.

because Secretariat is too fast to be held in History's chains.

He runs on with no fear whatsoever,

    only to encounter a race

    and win it forever.

    RIP BIG RED

  • @dickran2142battle You say no fear whatsoever... What exactly does a horse fear?

  • @KenyxStudios Horses have the same fears we do. Sometimes horses wont race because they fear they might fail or fall. Sometimes they wont go into their own stable if it means being alone on a stormy night. They get nervous, they jump at loud noises and they get stressed. Secretariat had no fear because he knew what was going to happen the day of this race and he took it all head on.

  • Holy crap, that was incredible. Hell with all these overpaid dummies who toss balls around-That had to be one of the greatest moments in sports, ever.

  • I saw the movie and play this race over and over...TREMENDOUS HORSE!!!!! SECRETARIAT WILL LIVE ON IN HISTORY!!!!

  • I remember watching this with my family....WOW!

  • I would like to see the greastest fillies and volts would run the mile and a half run at belmont...my picks would probably have been secretariat and ruffian jus saying but ik SECRETARIAT first lol

  • He seemed to be pick up even more speed going to the finish line, racing no other horse. He could have gone on and on. Absolutely the very best!

  • WOW....

  • I watch this video over and over, so inspiring, (I wasn't even born at the time) Big Red did what he loved, that is to run. My favorite quote of all time "he is moving like a tremendous machine"

  • :D ♥

  • WOW, that's all I got to say

  • greatest single athletic performance of all time. never seen anything like it.

  • and this is the reason i want to go into horse racing business :) while there may never be another Secretariat, i can only hope to have a horse that is even half as great as him

  • I feel bad for Sham. He put up one hell of a fight there.

  • This horse is amazing -3

  • *goosebumps every single time I watch this* ♥

  • @kwgrid Me too!! I always smile and I feel like I am there....cheering my hero on. Yes, a horse is my hero.

  • Thanks God for this amazing creature. One of a Kind no doubt.

  • Greatest horse and horserace of all time.

  • For Secretariat!

  • Great horse, the best ever.

  • he is the best ever makes me cry everytime i watch the race or the movie

  • GUYS! RESPECTFULLY! I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT

Secretariat could outrun any horse, historical or modern, any time when racing. i just want to tell people that they should stop compraing Secretariat to others, SECRETARIAT IS THE BEST!!

  • @dickran2142battle : Well look up Phar Lap kid ! . And learn a little more you want to be a jockey guessing your from the USA ? . Typical thats why you think Secretariat is the best , he was great and he was fast and he would give anyhorse trouble . But can you prove how and why Secetariat is the best is it because he won the triple crown , Affirmed won the triple crown aswell is it because he won the Belmont by 32 lenghts please explain ? .

  • Comment removed

  • @Redtideified : Your comment and'where might you be from? Austrailia or New Zealand? Typical, that's why you think Pharlap is best' i am from Australia and no i don't he is best he is the best Australian racehorse no , no horse can lay claim to that . If so can you please tell me how one is greater then the other when they run in complety different styles and different races and so fourth ? Just you can't thats why my point is right

  • @adele375

it is the way he won .under the "IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING" slogan, they must put Secretariat name. no horse can keep that tremendous rapid pace from Belmont. watch him in Preakness going from last to first in 200 yards, it looked like all that horses stay still ... "Secretariat circle the field and NEVER tires", watch him beating Sham in stretch in the Derby. in Triple Crown Secretariat beat all of the old records . and he was the only horse who continuum accelerate through the race.

  • @bulllea No horse can keep that tremendous pace because no jockey would risk till Secretariat came along ,They don't risk it because they don't need to Phar Lap just strolled away coming around the turn of the 3200m Melbourne Cup he could have won it by a longer margin but he didn't need to , I do understand Seceratariat greateness just i don't think he is the greatest no horse can lay claim to that

  • @adele37

I do not talk about driving away in the stretch from tired horses like many many great racehorses did . no . I talk about running faster and faster . a thing that NO racehorse ever did . running each quarter faster than previous one . this is an abnormal feature in a racehorse . I do not know another horse with such a feature . It is not about how many wins or undefeated . Rocky Marciano was the one and only undefeated heavy weight of all time . And is not among top 5 .

  • @adele375

there was many many great horses out there . some are remembered like aces of the track Man o War, Secretariat, Citation, Ribot, Phar Lap, Affirmed, Ruffian , Zenyatta , some are remembered as most influential horses on the breed Eclipse , Princequillo , Northern Dancer , Storm Cat ... who is the best ? I do not know , but for me, the strongest impact came from Secretariat . maybe some horses in the past were even better , but the lack of informations did not bring them to light .

  • @bulllea I understand that .

I do not know who the greatest was either but for me the biggest impact came from Phar Lap and Sunline and The Diva also known as Makybe Diva but i don't think they are the greatest 3 of the greatest i think we would both agree on ,.

  • @adele375 You talk about Phar Lap not being pushed in his 3200m Melbourne Cup run? All Ron Turcotte did in the Belmont Stakes was "HAND RIDE" SEC the WHOLE way! In fact, after the 3/4 pole Turcotte assumed he was running to “the beat of 12’s” and an approx. 1:12 time…certainly NOT 1:09-4/5! If SEC had been pushed the final ¾ mile, he would have easily posted a sub 2:23 time.

  • @adele375

watch Pincay interview after the Preakness. He was in state of sock. He gave a nasty beating to Sham that day, and he didn't won an inch on Secretariat in the stretch who just ran by himself. all that made Secretariat great. since great Citation in '48 , for 25 years until 1973, no horse managed to win Triple Crown . it's that hard . and from Affirmed in 1978 until today no horse succeeded .raw power , great speed , impossible stamina and the power of will made Secretariat legendary .

  • @bulllea : Sure i'll watch it . Hey don't get me wrong i'm a huge fan of Secretariat's he was a great horse and i understand all of that i'm huge fan of all those horses i just don't think he is the greatest i don't any horse is. But he is one of the greatest .

  • It seems that Pancho Martin and Laffit Pincay STILL don't like this video :-)

  • WE HAVE TO MAKE THIS VID ONE OF THE HIGHEST VIEWED VIDS ON UTUBE!!!!!

  • @dickran2142battle I agree!! I watch this video everyday. WyoCalboy did great w/ the music too. PERFECT video for us Secretariat fans!!

  • Every time I watch this race.. It brings me to tears. A true racing legend.

  • Pushing dirt with power hooves, throwing grit and sand

Big Red runs like a savage beast to make his final stand

Three years old and fast as lightning, this great horse proves his speed

Twenty six horse lengths in front of the pack, Secretariat hails the finest steed.

  • @Zrock0076 beautiful.

  • @stophorseabuseimmadi Thank You

  • a m a z i n g ! gives me goosebumps

  • I gotta say it: I'll betcha his parents are so proud. :] ♥ And grandpa, Princequillo, too. :) God, I love this horse!!

  • KEEP SHARING PEEEEEEEEEPPPPS! FOR SECRETARIAT!

  • I get a serious case of goosebumps and shivers when Secretariat starts pulling away from Sham. If you watch closely, you can see him begin to realllyyy stretch out and almost fly down the track! His stride is awesome! When you see that and then check out Sham's stride, it's clear as daylight nobody's gonna catch him!! ♥♥♥

  • @kwgrid I know it has been so many times but it truly was like Secretariat heard the rumors that his distance running was in question, so he made sure there were no doubters after this race.

  • I do not know what Eddie Sweat said to Secretariat that day........but it must have been one hell of a pep talk.

  • GUYS ONCE AGAIN

THANKS ALOT FOR SHARING THIS VID AROUND

I CAN TELL BECAUSE THE VIEWS ARE GETTING QUICKLY HIGHER AND HIGHER

  • @dickran2142battle Even though it's a thoroughly exciting and amazing race, the music adds that 'etheric' touch that makes this clip magical. Love the clips of the Derby and the Preakness with the music, too. The Preakness really shows his power and determination and the music adds that 'essence' that gives me goosebumps! ♥

  • @kwgrid Thanks for the kind words! :)

  • @wyocalboy :D Well deserved! ♥

  • god will never make something like that!i love u secretariat iam going to wach the movie right now

  • i will never forget that horse i play basketball and i need music to pump me up and this is the best music ever for it!i also horse back ride and i will never see a horse like that i wish i canm see him

  • "PERFECT" Did exist and you just saw it!!!!!!!!!

  • "A Tremendous Machine..."

  • It's been almost thirty years and no one has even approached his margin of victory to this day. An outstanding animal.

  • Director of the movie: "Secretariat did something that wasn't even conceivable."

  • ...when they weighed Secretariat's actually heart, it weight 22pounds which is the twice the size of anyother horse! He was unlike anyother and he was made to be that way ;-)

  • @2MrBlack1 true from wikipedia i saw that his heart weighed 10 kilos!

  • Its like god whisper in his ear "go!" I LOVE YOU SECRETARIAT! ♥ ♥

  • Secretariat will NEVER die and will ALWAYS live on forever I will never forget you Red

  • absolutely the best horse ever

  • This is truly the horse that God built.

  • Another story I like is one told by a New York Times reporter about going to the paddock after this race and standing around with about 30 or more people while they gave Secretariat the saliva test. A lady standing close to him said, "They're treating him like just another horse."

  • @kwgrid Don't know if you heard this story, but when Big Red died, Aqueduct racetrack wanted to lower the US flag to half-staff. Since that honor can only be bestowed on humans, the request was denied. Some tout heard that reason and exclaimed "That wasn't a horse! He was Secretariat!"

  • @tmack43 I haven't heard that story. WOW! *goosebumps* Reminds me of the lady that was standing with a crowd at the paddock after this race when they were giving him the saliva test: "They're treating him like he's just another horse."

  • @tmack43 Great post! The Greatest Horse in the Past Century!

  • @nin12dog Almost a century and half now. :)

  • @tmack43 Terrific story and a real shame they didn't do it for him. He so deserved it. I think it's awesome that ESPN listed him in the top 100 athletes of the 20th century. :) ♥

  • @tmack43 Thats a great story and so true he was a legend!!

  • Penny Chenery said, "That was the day he felt terrific! He ran because he was loving it." Bill Nack saw him early that morning and said he was the fittest he had ever seen a horse. Another factoid Nack mentioned about Secretariat was that he watched an airplane flying overhead. Nack said he had never seen a horse notice things like that.

  • Oh God..There is a MIRACLE !

  • Jesus the tears are streaming down my face........

  • @MIKE21071964 I think I've watched this clip a hundred times and it never fails to get me all choked up.

  • Secretariat is the greatest horse that ever lived, and that will EVER LIVE! It is unbelievable that he crossed the finish line FASTER the second time then he did the first time going around! He was unbelievable! I knew his exercise rider JIm Gaffney and he had pictures on ebay for sale of him and Secretariat. Autographed. That horse was conformationally perfect, and in my book THE BEST HORSE OF ALL TIME!

  • @kwgrid yeah I misunderstood on what you posted... Sorry about that

  • @bhangradancergirl Thank you for the acknowledgement. I appreciate it. ♥

  • If anyone takes exception to the quote I made below, please watch the Sports Century clips and you'll see the context it was in. It was a great compliment!

  • When I feel like getting the chills I know what to watch!

  • @kwgrid do you know how hard it is to win the triple crown...To be a triple crown winner the horse needs to win 1. Kentucky Derby 2. Preakness and 3. The Belmont Stakes... It is very rare for a horse to win all three races..this horse is definitely a super horse, especially when everybody thought secretariat couldn't do it and winning by 22 lengths, too...

  • @bhangradancergirl Yes, I have a very good grasp of what it takes to win the Triple Crown. Apparently, I've said something that's been misunderstood. I have nothing but love and admiration for Secretariat and I love horses and love to watch the races....and have for decades. What I don't like about it is the abuse frequently seen like when Pincay beat the crap out of Sham. I think the Belmont broke Sham's spirit and I blame the trainer and the jockey.

  • "Miracle Horse" "Super Horse" "You could say these are all flowery, ridiculous things...it's just a horse race. I'm sorry! This horse was an athlete!" ♥

  • @kwgrid Actually, your statement that the horse was an athlete is simply a retreat to a generalization. I'ts obvious from your comment that you know absolutely nothing about TB racing.

  • @bbmtge I think you misunderstood me. I was quoting someone from the Sports Century clips. The 'athlete' was a huge compliment intended to state that not only did he have the build for racing but he had the 'attitude' of a real competitor...he had 'heart' and was self-motivated. Turcotte rarely needed to use the whip. Secretariat "understood racing" as Penny Chenery stated and "dictated his own strategy" in his 3 y/o year. Does that help? Educate me if not.

  • @kwgrid My bad, I thought you oversimplifying. Apologies.

  • @bbmtge Thank you very much. That's very decent of you. ♥

  • @kwgrid BTW, I think that, at times, Sec did run his own race. However, in the KD, he was well off the pace and not making a move on the leaders. According to the DRF, Turcotte popped him once with the whip on the backstretch and Sec took off as one can see in any video of the KD. The whip went to the left hand and what we see in the stretch is Turcotte "hand-popping " sec on the rump due to the racing distance. In the Belmont, however, Turcotte is definitely, merely, along for the ride.

  • @bbmtge Yeh, Ronnie did have to pop him just a bit in the KD. It wasn't that Ronnie never had to pop him a little, just that he rarely had to. In the preakness, Penny Chenery said that Secretariat's move was all his own doing because it was way too early to have moved him strategically and Ronnie wouldn't have asked him that soon. To quote her, "It had to be what the horse wanted to do." :) Sigh....I so wish we could have seen him run at 4 y/o...and 5...and 6... LOL

  • @kwgrid I, too, wish we could have seen him at 4YO. I think he would been even more of a monster no matter the impost.

  • @bbmtge I totally agree! I think he was just hitting his prime at the end of his 3 y/o season. "Monster" indeed!! They might have had to pay horses to run against him. LOL!

  • @kwgrid I like the cpmment I once read. I cannot remember who said it, but it was fitting..."they never got to the bottom of him." The very few old-timers who had been around the circuit for decades said they had never seen anything like him. Charles Hatton said that horsemen carry the TB ideal in their mind. when he saw Sec...he said his conformation was perfect. Even some that saw MOW said Sec was the best they had ever seen. I think his performance in the MC is spectacular, too.

  • @bbmtge Yes indeed, and his last race...where was that, Woodbine? in Canada. Didn't he race with stablemate Riva Ridge in the Marlboro Cup? Great race! I loved seeing Riva do so well. Too bad Riva was such a prima dona and couldn't deal with sloppy tracks or he would have been a Triple Crown winner, too. Love him anyway because he was a sweetie pie. :) But Secretariat was one of a kind. ♥

  • @kwgrid In the MC, there was Riva Ridge, 4YO (2 Eclipse Awards, KD, Belmont, WR at 1 3/16th's miles, HOF), Key To The Mint, 4YO (1 Eclipse award), Couger II, 7 YO ( Eclipse Award Turf, HOF) Kennedy Road, 5 YO (5 Canadian championships, CA HOF), RR drew top weight at 127 pounds, Cougar and KTM drew 126, Sec 124. This was Sec first race coming back from sepsis; the normally brash Lucien Laurin, when asked, said he knew Meadow Stable would win but, he did not know if it would be Sec or RR. con

  • @kwgrid Laurin stated that RR's training was outstanding and Sec's was not; he wished he had another week with Sec to prepare. The 3/4 fraction in the race was 1:09 and 1/5th. Sec made 3 moves in that race; 1) a blazing run from 1/4 to 3/4 to catch the leaders; 2) a short burst just prior to the run to pull even with RR; 3) an imperceptible move to draw away from RR under a hand ride for a WR of 1:45 and 2/5th's. That day, RR likely finished at 1:46 with Cougar at 1:46 and 1/5th. Not only a WR..

  • @kwgrid ...but the fastest 1,2,3 at that distance in history. Sec, pulling up passed the 1 3/16th's mark a full second under the WR and hit the 1 1/4 mark in 1:57 and 4/5th's. The current Wr at 9 furlongs is by Simply Majestic at 4YO in 1:45 flat carrying 10 pounds less than Sec and on the CA circuit which regularly produces times inexcess of a full second faster that the east coast tracks.

  • @bbmtge Simply majestic would of never beaten secretariat doesn't matter the time... The horse had a heart to run, and win.. And nothing would get in his way ....

Heart and speed vs. Speed and endurance are two different things..

Won't find another heart like his! :O)

  • @kristylee15 Sec, IMHO, could have posted a sub 1:45 time in the MC. Never ran with the intention of setting a record. Well within himself.

  • @kwgrid Sorry to be so lengthy...just very cool stuff from the TRUE SUPERHORSE!!!

  • @bbmtge I enjoyed all of the info. Thanks. :)

  • @kwgrid ...and thanks to you, too!!!

  • @bbmtge For the Belmont, Lucien told Ronnie "Just leave him alone. Put him on a long hold and let him run his own race." :) Boy, did he ever!!!

  • @kwgrid I do not know if there are words/phrases to accurately describe what happened in this race.

  • Comment removed

  • Hellfire, he even set a record in the quarter past the finish line when he was supposedly pulling up. :) "..Ron Turcotte, who never did anything but hand ride, never used the whip made it almost embarrassing for the rest of the horses. I suppose you can't really be embarrassed by being beaten by the greatest horse in the past century." ...almost a century and half now. :) ♥

  • it would be a good idea to make a cinema building with the latest screen technology and to seat 5 million people in it and show Secratariats 2011 Disney movie and when the movie ends they'll show this upper video with the same emotional music. PEOPLE WILL PRAISE SECRATARIAT

  • SHARE THIS VID QUICKLY LET A MILLION PEEPS SEE THIS MIRACLE!!!!!!!!

  • Secretariat, could have easily ran for (2) miles that day.

  • @h2oK9ghb.....how can u say that!!!???

  • Secretariat is now ATB (at the bridge)

  • So..like..did they drug test the horses back then?

  • @h2oK9gbh Yes, they did.Further, Lasix, which can mask drugs was not approved by NYRA until years later.

  • Clem Florio: "Ron Turcotte. He let him run. Come on. He won the Derby. He won the Preakness. Come on. Let's see what he can do." :) And we all found out. The most impressive thing to me is that Ronnie never laid a hand on him. Lucien Lauren told Ronnie to just let him run his own race. "That was the day he felt terrific. He just picked his moment and ran because he was loving it." - Penny Chenery

  • @kwgrid beautiful. I also Like Pat Lynchs' quote. " It was like the Lord had the reigns, and secretariat was one of his creatures....and he whispered, go". It shows that even hardened race enthusiasts knew the devine nature of this magnificent animal.

  • At 3:14 brave Sham limps in in his last race ever, looking somewhat worse for wear...

  • I love the debates on who would win between secretariat/Ruffian(beautiful filly)/ MoW. you can compare times all you want, but until you actually go head to head you cant tell. Look at the majority of secretariats wins, whenever he was even slightly challenged he just sped up. Also when a Jockey rarely has to put a crop to a horse is incredible.

  • @schnucklefutz on the day of the 1973 belmont NO horse coulda beaten big red. i think big red woulda taken ruffian. but she woulda been a very close second. greatest filly ever. my favorite filly ever

  • @andrewlavrenz The race made in heaven.. Man O War, Ruffian, Seabiscuit, Secretariat and Phar Lap. :-)

  • @schnucklefutz Jenness Cortez had a similar depiction in her "Field of Dreams..two jumps from the wire" painting.

  • Truly a gift from God!

  • Supersized heart! Super anatomy! Super temperament! Super desire! Super Horse! ♥

  • @atiboy1 While I'm sure that you don't mean to say that his heart was pathologically enlarged, it's a little unnerving to me to see the term 'enlarged heart,' because it implies it was pathological...abnormal. He did not have an abnormal heart. His heart was perfectly proportioned, just supersized. Also, for his heart to be meaningful, the rest of his anatomy had to be able to take advantage of it. That is the true miracle of this horse. He had it all!! ♥

  • Secretariat compares to other race horses like Superman compares to other people. Physically bigger, stronger, and oh yeah, faster. I remember watching all three of the 1973 triple crown races and just being in awe of this stallion. The Belmont Stakes record set by Secretariat will most likely stand forever.

  • One of the commentators said that there wasn't a horse in the world that could have beaten him on that day. I believe it. Penny Tweedy said "That was the day he felt terrific. He ran because he was loving it."

  • Secretariat will be my obsession till I die. The greatest creature that ever lived was not a man...it was a perfect creature with supernatural abilities that showed us what a miracle would look like. What he did in the 1973 Triple Crown as a young 3 year old will NEVER happen again. He is my mortal God. So perfect...it still brings tears to my eyes. My biggest regret in life is not seeing him while he was alive. God's perfect miracle on earth.

  • @cmf4321 you are not alone in this sentiment. Best thing you can do now is visit his grave site and take a scoop of earth and place in a crystal container and label it: Secretariat's Hallowed Ground or something to that effect, whatever turns the reel for you. I know that one day that is exactly what I will do.

  • @cmf4321 Amen

  • @cmf4321 He is my obsession, too. I watch his videos almost everyday. He was God's perfect miracle.

  • What gets me, among other things, is that Ronnie never laid a hand on him. The most incredible race ever. What an athlete!! ♥

  • This is the greatest performance in sports history, I dare somebody to name something better

  • Movie romantic. Reality is a mofo brain bitch for the weak minded.

  • horrible music bed. Don't bother watching this.

  • Just realized this music is from the movie Secretariat. More then a nice touch really.

  • Heart of a lion! Bravery, most horses would have give up but no not Secretariat!

He marked history for ever and when I have kids I will be the first to tell them all about this magnificent horse!

  • He ran the first 1.25 miles faster than he ran the derby.

  • ONE OF KIND....... LAST TURN WILL ALWAYS BRING ME TO TEARS.. GOD BROKE THE MOLD WHEN HE CREATED HIM.... 11:11

  • Secretariat's heart was *ESTIMATED* by the veterinarian who performed the necropsy at 22lbs after the fact. He was the same one who autopsied Sham (around 3 years after Secretariat died) whose heart weighed in at 18, and the vet then stated that Secretariat's was likely to have been around 22lbs.

It had NOTHING to do with steroids, it is a trait passed along the X chromosone from the mother's side. It's breeding, and a little research will verify this.

  • You are full of sh1t. They never weighed Secretariat's heart.

"At the time of Secretariat's death, the veterinarian who performed the necropsy, Dr. Thomas Swerczek, did not weigh Secretariat's heart, but stated, "We just stood there in stunned silence. We couldn’t believe it. The heart was perfect. There were no problems with it. It was just this huge engine."

Your statement, "Certainly they could have masked a test or paid off." is absurd!
