  • I saw the production recently in Birmingham. I t was really good. What a fantastic actor Martin Shaw is. He has such presence on stage and such a gorgeous sexy voice. Still looking good at 65! (You get to see him in his boxer shorts - that alone is worth the ticket price!) I had a great time - a great production and I think it will get even better by the time it moves to London. Would definitely recommend it.

  • @virkae It was interesting to watch how the play evolved with the weeks passing - most of the actors were making changes, experimenting, and by the looks of it, enjoing it more and more.

You're right, Martin Shaw is truly amazing to watch on stage, he's a chameleon, going through desperation, defeat, tears and triumph in only 2 hours.

  • This brings back some fantastic memories - thank you.

  • @pmgms1962 It does, doesn't it... Thanks for stopping by! :)

  • jenny seagrove still looks gorgeous

  • Travelling halfway around the world to see The Country Girl in London early Dec. I can't believe my luck after all these years being a M.S. admirer. I know the 27hours in the air will be no bother when the next day I'll be going to the Apollo Theatre to see the playand hopefully for a White Christmas after years of heat.

  • @Franinaus Wow, 27 hours!! You must be so happy and excited. But MS is well worth it, he's amazing in this role. I'm sure you'll have a great time!

  • Thank you for these lovely pictures and er.....could I be Jenny's understudy in case she comes off ;-)

  • @ci5agent45 Oh, lets hope that she and everyone else in the cast will be well! And in the unlikely event that she needs replacing, you'd have to join a very long cue, I'm afraid. :))

  • @greenheart45 I certainly don't want no harm come to Jenny and the rest of the crew and if that's the only possibility to get snogged by the delectable one, I'm more than happy to join the cue and wait for my turn ;-) It's what British people do all the time anyway, innit?

  • Martin collapsed on stage in last night.

Get well soon ......we are all thinking of you!

  • @Yorkmum He's better already. He fainted cause he was tired due to antibiotics and craced ribs. Nothing really serious, thank goodness :)

  • not quite sure where to post this - but given that this clip features both Martin and Jenny I'll try here - seems that the Horse Refuge a charity close to both their hearts is currently being evicted from its home.

    So so very sad!

  • @Yorkmum Yes, it's awfully sad and now it's seems inevitable. I'm sure most of us have done our best to help, and still it was not enough. Can't believe we're so helpless, when it's a matter of life and death for the horses.

  • i thought Luke was sooo good - in fact the whole cast was brill.

i still think Joe looks more like Martin though - but neither of them would relish those skin tight jeans their dad wore in the 1970s!!!!

  • @Yorkmum LOL

  • First of all I had to learn more about the story, so now I can fully appreciate your choice of music for this vid. It's beautiful and moving and I hope to see the play later this year, fingers (and toes) crossed :-)). Many thanks for sharing this.

  • @turmlicht Thank you for your kind appreciation! Keeping fingers crossed for you!

  • Going to see it in Malvern - so excited :)

  • @jamesg24 Hope you'll have a great time!

  • It looks terrific, I envy all those who can go & see it, thanks for the video

  • @sadie646 Yes, we are to be envied...

    Thanks for stopping by. :)

  • Brings back wonderful memories of Windsor. ...sigh...

    Thanks so much:)

  • @DaybreakAngel Yes, lovely memories... sigh...

  • the song is soooo the right song for this!

  • @Yorkmum It is, isn't it! I was lucky they didin't block it. *bg*

  • oh my! pure pleasure to watch this vid :) whoa, greenheart ! :))

  • @mymra Thanks! Just imagine what it is to really watch this on stage...

  • @greenheart45 I'm imagining it ... only with the accent somewhere else :))) Jenny is in it LOL

btw, this young man on the photos... is it Luke?

  • @mymra No, that's Mark Letheren. MS used to play his part in 1983.

As for Luke, he is great in the play, even though his is a small role, he's very comfortable in it. Btw, if you see him, you'll recognize him right away, he looks very much like his father.

  • Thanks for putting sunshine in a rainy day. This is so beautiful and I love the song you chose. I can't wait to see the play!!

  • @angelfish45 I wish I knew who took the photos, he/she has done a great job! Hope you'll see the play soon! Hugs

  • @carjim2002 Thank you for watching! Always glad to be of help.

  • Thanks Greenheart, this is an amazingly intense play, I've seen it twice in Windsor and have booked in to see it in the West End as well! I recommend anyone who wants to be blown away to go and see it. All the cast are brilliant but Martin Shaw is outstanding. Thanks for posting.

  • @ci5mates Couldn't agree more!

  • greenheart - you've done it again - you've captured the essence of the production - I saw it in Leeds yesterday and it was fab!

I couldn't believe that in a full theatre me and my mate ere the youngest there by about 20 years!

    Thanks again!

  • @Yorkmum Very glad you liked it!

You know, we had the same feeling in Windsor - everyone in the stalls could be our parent! lol

  • That is wonderful! Love the way you have done this, giving us plenty of time to view each photo. Of course the song fits it perfectly.

  • @peggym033 Couldn't resist it, the photos are so beautiful. I love this song and when I saw them, it just started to play in my mind.

  • If I could choose the font in which to write this, it would be at least size 40, bold and beautiful, and either green or warm red:

    THANK YOU

  • @finnhere2 It was a pure joy to make it. Hugs.
