  • I ate lunch in Cinderellas Castle at Disney World, and while your eating the disney princesses come by to take pics with you and when the black princess came by I told her shes not a real princees and her mexican prince and her need to go lol the look on her face was hilarious lol:)

  • What is the big deal about this princess? No girl whether white or black likes to play with black dolls. Princess Tiana doll is the one mostly left behind on store counters.

  • I waited my WHOLE life for her. And that's why it's such a big deal. It took FOREVER for a black princess to arrive in the Disney Princess Lineup. The fact that she's black is more significant to older viewers. I'd say 12+. most kids under that have the opportunity to grow up with her. We didn't. It seemed like they stopped making princesses movies when our childhood was coming to an end. Now all we need is a Latin/Spanish princess =D

  • walt disney doesnt approve a negro

  • Has there ever actually been a real black princess and i dont mean like princess of some small african country no one has ever heard off but like a real one in a western society?

  • Comment removed

  • @RealityIsAIllusion niggers just plain stupid

  • @anitec19 crackers just plain stupid

  • Yo we really need a black and white princess that would really change things >:)

And piss off people in the south :D

  • @MsGracefulGirl swagg lol

  • African American? i just call em' ni- "40 black guys runs in my room and beats me up"

  • 'LOVE HAPPENS ACROSS MANY DIFFERENT COLORS... NO; ONLY TWO'

  • My B.F is prince .. <3 from saudi arabia

  • What about Jasmine?

  • @filijo99 Not African American. She's Arabic. This is the first African American. Jasmine was an amazing feat in herself though, Not saying that wasn't a boundary breaker :)

  • tijana moja mama obteozvate

  • i heard disney's first black princess is a frog majority of the movie.... now how jacked up is that...!!!

  • @Bellamonea23 lol, that was my families only complaint, that she wasn't actually human most of the movie. It was still an amazing film though~

  • bullshit, disney didnt like niggers

  • @tehzoh shut the fuck up you racist peice of cunt go fuck yourself

  • @McAleer2398 at least i have some manners, you are such a vulgar hillbilly

  • @tehzoh haha dude when i saw vulgar hillbilly i LOL'ed seriously :P

  • @tehzoh :|. Was that even necessary?

  • @tehzoh You know, some people say that when you are anonymously posting poison and trash, it is not a true picture of who you are; but I think it is the other way around. A person can say exactly what he or she wants to, for there is no physical repercussion. No one is going to hit you, and you have not done anything serious enough to interest the police. But there is someone that you are hurting... someone real, with feelings and a heart. Look in the mirror. Yes. You.

  • @2441883 you're right. Im sorry

  • @tehzoh I truly and humbly thank you.

  • @tehzoh You better be fucking sorry...I couldn't have said better than 2441883

  • @TheWitchking123 i better be fucking sorry ? or what ?

  • @2441883 I loved ur comment man..really <33...God bless u

  • @Blairthekittykat Jasmine is not Hispanic lol. She's Middle Eastern/Arab.

  • @Blairthekittykat Umm, she's Arabian. Smart one.

  • siaorallasalidebaca siones

  • @Blairthekittykat I'm pretty sure Jasmine is arabian. Hence the initiative theme, Arabian Nights, and the location of Agrabah. Do you realize how much controversy Aladdin would have gotten if the characters were hispanic? Don't get me wrong, it's not my stereotype.

  • @Blairthekittykat nope.... she is not hispanic. she was created to be somewhere around middle east... India.

  • Wasn't Jasmine the first Black Princess ???

  • @P00LG1RL I guess she is not because to be a black person, in our society, you gotta have some features like wide nose, the lips...etc... Jasmine has dark skin, yes... But she is not considered black because her features are more like...mmm... Arabian, Hindu...etc... Well, at least is what I think.

  • I don't know why people are bugging that it took Disney forever to make a "black" princess. There hasn't even been a Hispanic one yet. It seems that everything is either black or white. Well, where are the Hispanic/Latinos? I'm just saying.

  • @JZMZ68 ...and the orientals, the aborigines, the native Americans, the Indians, etc.

I think it's that all the races get a fight from the domineering whites, the blacks get the worst end of the stick, and they fight back even more, not that others are just taking it sitting down.

  • @andrewfrancis74 Agreed.

  • I think they should have a Hispanic disney princess!!! :D that would make me smile :)

  • .....i want to see tiana in the next kingdom hearts game XDDDD

  • Isn't this a rip off a European myth about kissing a frog? wtf, why couldn't they come up with an original story?

  • @Volf99 um hun if you'd pay attention almost ALL the disney princess movies is a rip off of a myth or actual people:

snow white sleeping beauty, cinderella, rapunzel- brother's grimm tales

    Little mermaid: hans christian anderson

aladdin: 1001 arabian night's jasmine's original name is badroulbadour

    Mulan: legend of Hua Mulan

Beauty and the beast: french tale by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve

Pocahontas:real powhowtan princess disney did to orignal stories cuz it most likely won't sell

  • @Volf99 You do realize that all of Walt Disney Picture's films are based on a general folktale or myth, right? The story becomes original when Tiana becomes a frog aswell. There are always going to be inspirations that lead into a film; they can never be truly original without some type of influence.

  • u tell them gurl

  • i always thought the prince sounded french

  • Nigger princess

  • @yorkiyork1 fuck you

    :)

  • " It doesn't matter if your black or white " - Michael Jackson, so then why are they praising the first black character of disney, I didn't see the movie, but I think its kind of stupid to be praising THE FIRST BLACK PRINCESS OMG!! ABOUT TIME!!! , who cares if shes white, black, hispanic, or asian.. does it really matter people? Come on.... frankly I don't give a shit and you shoudlnt either since its not relevant to the actual movie...

  • @66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 its a big deal because walt disney was a nazi and a racist so for his company to finally have a black main character is great because there finally breaking down that barrier

  • @onemoretime4themusic what makes get that conclusion, I've never heard such a thing since the whole walt disney is sopposed to create fantasy and love and magic, not hatred amongst race, people are just looking at hidden meanings or subliminal messages too much, just to find a way something is wrong.

  • @onemoretime4themusic Walt Disney was NOT a Nazi! Not liking Jews and being part of a German political party are two entirely separate things.

  • @Volf99 lol EVERYONE was saying that he was a nazi so im w/you on that one

  • She's beautiful :D

  • One question. Why did it take disney 72 long years to make a Black Princess? 1937-Snow White. 1950-Cinderella. 1959-Aurora. 1989-Ariel. 1991-Belle. 1992-Jasmine. 1995-Pocahontas. 1998-Mulan. 2009-Tiana. It took all those years to finally get a black woman into the mix. About time too.

  • @FluffMaster101 THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING

  • @FluffMaster101 Are you serious? Snow White comes from the GERMAN FOLKTALE STORIES that were written down by the Brothers Grimm! Also, Pocahontas and Mulan were REAL PEOPLE!

  • i think she would be an awesome Tiana's mum, but she just doesn't make me think of Tiana for some reason...

  • Can't tell what Naveen is. He's got a very black tone of skin but has very caucazoid features. Plus back then (where the movie takes place) there would have been alot more racism. Just saying.

  • @killerkoiskoi Naveen is Indian. It's an Indian name. :) first Indian prince to enter disney too.

  • @joinesa5 yeah but his his home is of a eurasian area a mix of malta and macedonia

  • Anika is all class. P&F was okay... it wasn't perfect but it was a start, anyway. Why haven't they made more 2D full-length features after this one?

  • that movie sucked

  • what does it matter that "Disney's first black princess can't find a black prince" IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE BLACK OR WHITE! Man... Disney is like brainwashing people. they don't know how evil Disney really is...

  • It's cool that they finally had a black princess, but why is this such a big deal? What about Jasmine, Pocahontas and Mulan? I don't remember people going "OMG first arabian/native american/chinese disney princess!!!".

It's not important what color her skin is as long as it fits the story, and the time and place where it is set.

Also, I don't think kids care about her color. For them she's just a beatiful princess.

  • @AetherAlchemist I agree, it's like when Obama became president... but I guess it's a big deal considering the african-american history in the USA :p

Hey, now we're just waiting for a gay princess! :D

  • the prince had 2 be a creole disney couldnt have him be fully black

  • why are black people so up on being the stereo type im not racist just i dont like how they dont even talk right and walk around with picks in their fros, and soooo loud and obnoxious. i think its like they got a disney character tho, also why butcher the english language it hurts my ears when girls walk around saying they got their hair did. its done you got you hair done.

  • @tanyacoteful just wanted to say that as a black female, we aren't all like that. the ones that actually choose to have an education are the ones that speak proper english. i enjoy getting my hair done, cause i look nice, but doesn't mean i go around telling people. i get what you're saying, and i'm sure you didn't mean to insult every black person out there, but we aren't all like that. seems like you've been influenced by stereotyping as well.

  • @SexiiTisha77 well i didnt mean all black people because the majority of the ones i know and intelligent and overall nice people. i just think that it s really dumb that there are the stereo typical ones that do behave literally stereotypical, every race has them and those are the people i hate. the ones that literally walk around saying i got my hair did and my nails did, there is nothing wrong with getting them done or even saying you got them done, it when you say i got them did. hmm..

  • Disney's design of a Black Girl is nothing more than an inverted blonde white girl.

  • ik vint diit echt kinderachdeg :)

  • black or white, who cares!! children would love an asian, african or white american princess if adults/parents dont start seeing diferences btw races!!! we are all mortals and humans thats it!!

  • Crazy bitch kissed a frog.

  • Now all we need is a lesbian Princess and gay hero and disney is all up to date...

  • Its forcing a political point so i dont like it,but who gives a shit about anything anymore, pfft the prince could marry a horse for all i care.

  • This should be a slap in the face for all those Disney-skeptics out there. Sure, there might have been slight racist references but at that time it was just the way it was. Times have changed now and so have Disney. And if a African-American woman is willing to play a character in a Disney produced film and not have a problem with it that should say alot.

  • @DamienHurts Because Disney does a good thing here does not mean I or anyone should overlook past stereotypes that they've portrayed. True skepticism isn't relentlessly railing against something; it's taking a position of objectivity and applying rationality, logic, and criticism to the subject. Hopefully, Disney will continue this trend and keep on positively depicting persons from all types of backgrounds in the films and other media they produce. And I'll remain a skeptic and see if they do.

  • I am going to go a make up video of the princess and the frog inspired look soon

  • i'm so happy they made another international princess, but this movie was really boring, and very creepy with that Voodoo Shazzam dude, BLIMEY!

  • WELL SAID ANIKA ROSE!

she was so right in her answer ;)

  • For me I wish people would stop treating the black race like it's a race. To me this was another disney movie with another Disney princess.

  • shes very beatiful :3 the host is hot :D

  • new "princess and the frog" monarch programming for black girls that's all this movie is about smh.

  • Political correctness is way past ridiculous now -___-

  • wtf who gives a shit if shes black we are all humans !!

  • it is the truth now adays u should not see the outside but who the person really is inside. doesnt matter color or belief what matters now is for every human being to accept each other and to help one another.

  • i would have loved a black or white or whatever race prince naveen is prince

  • it is not a "big" deal to you because disney always had other races. it is sad it took them so damn long to make a movie with a black princess, even a creole princess!! I only wish they had one when my baby girl watched these movies!! and she is bi- racial, but it sends a message to little girls of every color( that is included) that they can and are a true princess, hell even a queen. it is always nice to send that type of message to young girls. we should want to empower our children.

  • i love u ANIKA/TIANA!

  • Crap, pretty. I meant pretty. And the media is just recognizing it. Jeez

  • I for one am glad that there's a black disney princess. I some of you are being selfish and ignorant. for years lighter skin was always seen as more beautiful, so some black girls didn't feel as peru

  • THERE IS NO LATINA PRINCESS :@

  • this is my fave princess well one of them

  • there is so mutch wrong with this.

First off disney cartoons were never supposed to be about race at all. they used the race that was fitting to the sotry line.

Second the Frog princess was not african american. she wasn't american at all for that matter. they never really seemed to care about race until now. Jasmine was arabian, pocahontis was nativ american, mulan was chinese. they just faded this crap in so they could get some positiv rep for they're dieing animation department.

  • I think Anika should work at Disney World because the character was designed after her. : ) Little girls would love her! She's so pretty!

  • SHE did such a good job! Loved it!

  • OMG she looks just like Princess Tiana :) !! But has any else ever noticed most of celebs who talk for most disney characters look exactly like the characters ? Pretty cool :) !!

  • @lindlin123 Disne animators do that because they also use the voice actors as inspiration to make them that much more real.

  • @lindlin123 Sometimes Yes!!! But I certainly can't see anything of Jodi in Ariel. To be honest I must say I get tens times more turned on by the animated character then the human one. And that sounds creepy. Jodi may have a beautiful singing voice but looks bleeh!!!!!!!!

  • @lindlin123 You said what I first thought when I saw this......same shaped head, same skin tone, same body- type, same eyes, nose, mouth. "Someone's great great great grandchild" will know what Anika looked like.

  • Alright you guys. I'm just going to type an extremely long, brought out description here, because I want people to see how I have wasted time to type crap out, that's completely useless. I also want to do this to get a crap load of thumb ups, or just look like I'm really intelligent.

  • There´s no fat princess!?

  • Wait wait wait... People making a big deal cause Disney finally has one African American princess? No one pointed things out for those who were not like the other princesses

Mulan was Chinese, Jasmine was Arabian, Esmeralda was a Gypsy... What's the difference? Girls love them because girls want to be a princess when they're little... You think some little black girl will watch this just because she's black? No they watch for just that love of wanting to be like them while they're still young g

  • A black prince would have been doing 15-20 in Angola. =(

  • isn't it African American not black? O_o

  • black princess makes no sence actualy. no racist tho.

  • @rsdewd Are you fucking poor? 'Cause you make no CENTS.

    *Sense, stupid shit.

  • @LittleEmoPuppy rofl... calm down lil troll.

  • @rsdewd In Soviet Russia,

    Copter Rofl YOU.

And make me. I can call fuck tards fuck tards if I WANNA'.

I DO WHAT I WANT. UHUHUH.

  • @LittleEmoPuppy yeah u do what u want on pc. cause ur fat lil nerd hiding in ur moms basement. and havent seen sunshine since u have born.

  • ERiC PUMPER - " BLACK AND YELLOW " WIZ KHALIFA [ FREESTYLE ] /watch?v=iYNNoNLpHHU

  • Society is so retarded. If we were really past our racist differences then having a black princess wouldn't be a big deal nor would a black president. Who cares to me disney has another princess. The lion king had mostly black actors in it, probably because it took place in africa. But the point is noone even took notice to the fact that any of the people that did the voices were black, I didn't even notice till I was 23. If black people were past they're differences they wouldn't have BET

  • @parsleysprigs God Yes! Society is RETARDED!! LOLOL!!

  • @bubblinbrownsugar616 Hallelujah did I actually come up with a logical explanation of how racism is only created by the adults and media, whats funny is I didn't even remember writing that because I was wasted. Proof that if children were left alone to learn without they're parents making discriminatory comments racism would naturally die off in one generation. Well, it prooves that and that the brutal truth only comes out when your drunk.

  • Just watched the movie. Loved it! Why is everyone making such a big deal about skin color? I adored Tiana and thought she was gorgeous. And I have very light blond hair and ivory skin. People have poked fun at me for looking like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty for years. I think it's fun to switch things up a bit. This movie was refreshing for a Disney film.

  • 1.) Jasmine is technically the First Black Princess. Also if we are to split hairs over such a foolish matter, the first Muslim Princess. (The Sultan says praise Allah in the movie and that isnt a bad thing)

2.) Why must we say African American? Are we not all Americans? I certainly do not call myself a White or Caucasian American.

Long will I tarry before I make racial slurs, yet again the so called "Black" people are flailing over race, just as they did in the election. This isnt 1845.

  • @DarkSyg I am black and when I was a little girl Princess Jasmine was my look alike and still. but still, she is Middle Estern, not black.

I appreciate that they still made a black princesses because many times little black girls wish they were mixed or white because the media glorifies lighter skin even if it is a black person. Im just glad they did not make Princess Tiana Light skinned.

Im still awaiting a Latina Princess. =)

  • @1063jasmine I can see how that effect a child but they could have made a more glorious character. If that's one of the reasons for a black princess, I think they should have made a movie that was going to go into the hall of fame. little girls don't just want to be any old princess, they want to be thee princess.

  • @DarkSyg Jasmin is not African, she's Caucasian o_O Same as people from India. It's the features, not the skin color. They're not from the African race, or the Asian race. Just to clarify things.

  • @lavenderblossom Jasmine is Arabian... didn't u watch the movie or read the book?!

  • @PeaceSalaam And Arabian means you're Caucasian, NOT African. That was the point I was making, because some people on here seem to base race on color. You didn't read my comment fully.

  • @lavenderblossom isnt she egyptian? shes african

  • not really seeing this as a great thing for black ppl i mean its disney for peat sake

  • she is not the first black princess... what about Jasmin? she's a princess, and she's kind of black. :)

  • @19Nightwish94 she not black smh

  • she's right about love, i dont know why the pigment of someone's skin should matter. it should matter if the have talent or not and she's got some talent in her.

  • shes a beautiful woman an race is not it ,,, god bless

  • Is she that frogs bottom bitch!?

    Make some mother fucking money!

  • Yeh, amen Anika, it does not matter what color anyone is and ya'll need to relax about this being offensive cuz it's not! :D

  • you know, mulan isn't a princess, which always confused me.... cause she isn't born royalty and doesn't marry royalty. she marries Captain Shang in the second one, but he's only noble not royal. she's still my second fave but all the same,

    ?!... lol.

  • barb

  • I lift up thumb ofcourse. shes so beautiful and very suitable for this role. But, is beyond my comprehension why one black princess wake up so big noise. When I was child, I see many animated cartoon with black princess.

  • how stupiddd,, pullin the race card again, fukkin whiners,

  • first a black president now a black princess, whats next?

  • @JozhsterV2 a push in your face racist

  • @20buscarMeuBis8 lol xD

  • I am a princess head and I love and watch all of the Disney Princess movie's from Snow White, The Little Mermaid, etc.... In my opinion this movie is BULL!!!!!!!!!!! why is it that she wasn't born a princess? why was she poor and why did she sell a kiss for restaurant money... what was the point of that? like black women are hoes or something... If you look at all of the other princesses they come from royalty. This girl was a bum SMHHHH!!!! and whats with all the white characters in the movie?

  • @Dirahdabest You really haven't wached all the Disney movies carefully have you? Cinderella started out as a maid! And there *are* white ppl in New Orleans. Just because the main character is black doesn't mean everyone has to be. That's just plain stupid.

  • @omegaice8 Gimme a freaking break. The prince isn't white first of all, and second be happy that disney is finally making progress.

  • @jokerplainview Obama is mixed race, not black.

  • @dudeximmaxgod Spanish people from Spain have very light skin.

  • @gaticaeitan Cinderella married the prince thought, so she *was* a princess by the end of the movie.

  • @Izzy41630 And how do you know that?

  • @Songbird21 Considering the way comments are displayed now, you'll have to be more specific in your question, since I have no idea to which of my comments you are replying.

  • @Izzy41630 I still say having a black princess solely for the sake of having a black princess is just shoving in our faces that black people are different and need to be treated special. You'd think in this day and age skin colour shouldn't matter, but here it is. -.-

I understand that it's good for young black girls to have a princess they can identify with, but it seems like this movie is just being made so Disney can have a princess of every race (Though they're still missing Hispanic.)

  • @Songbird21 That was your comment. Although I would like to replace the word bitching with complaining. I was in a bad mood last night.

  • @Songbird21 Alright, so you're asking me how I know....my own opinion? :|

  • @Izzy41630 No. I was asking if Disney could present a black person in *any* way that would make you happy. Seriously, minorities and women, we gotta take the small wins where we can get 'em. That's how change comes along.

  • @Songbird21 I have no issue with a black Disney princess. My issue here is that they made a black Disney princess for the sole purpose of making a black Disney princess. If it was a case of 'I HAVE A STORY AND IT HAS TO BE TOLD TO THE MASSES. OH YEAH, THE LEAD CHARACTER IS BLACK BTW', then I'd have no problem, but Disney freaking stated that they wanted to represent people of all races, which isn't unadmirable, but all it's done is further isolate black people by saying they're different somehow

  • @Izzy41630 We're ALL different. Not saying so doesn't change that. Why are you working so hard to twist something good into subliminal racism?

  • @Songbird21 Because it IS subliminal racism. Yes, we're all different, but because of our personalities, interests, etc. Not because of our skin colour. Putting emphasis on race just further isolates us.

  • @Izzy41630 Oh dear God. You're one of those people who think if a white family moves to one side of the sidewalk to give a black person room to pass that they're actually doing it because they don't wanna be near black people aren't you? Stop being so damn paranoid.

  • @Songbird21 I mean, it's nonsense like this that makes me nerveous about doing nice things for black people. Because they could twist it around in their heads as racist.

  • @Songbird21 No, I'm not one of those people, and I'm not paranoid. All stuff like this does is further segregate us.

  • @Izzy41630 All they're trying to do is call attention to the specialness of the new princess. Would you rather a step forward for black people was largely ignored?

  • @Songbird21 I see it more as a step backward, honestly. Not only do we have people saying 'hey, black people are somehow different because they're being treated special', I've seen people of every kind of ethnicity or cultural group complaining about the lack of a Disney Princess for them. Apparently there's no Hispanic Princess, or native Caribbean, or Jewish, etc. and now people are lobbying for them. Disney opened a can of worms with this.

  • @Izzy41630 So are we supposed to never do anything positive for a minority race for fear of upsetting the others?

  • @Songbird21 I'm not saying we can't ever do anything positive for them, but it's still given people of every minority license to bitch about the lack of Princesses for them. Give em an inch, they'll take a mile- that sort of thing.

  • @Izzy41630 Good grief. Disney is trying to correct past wrongs. Could ANYTHING make you happy? You're one of those people who's just not happy unless they're bitching about something.

  • @WONDAWOMAN So someone from Spain is not spanish? Get real.

  • lmfao, idk its wierd theirs a black girl on a Disney movie. Its not wierd if it was another race, i dont know why..

  • THAT IS SO DUMB WHO CARES WHAT THE PRINCE IS GOSH DARNIT MAN I LOVE THE FACT THAT THE PRINCE IS A DIFFRENT COLOR IT SHOWS PEOPLE THAT COLOR DOSENT MATTER EVEN MORE THAN BEFORE THAT IS SO IGNORANT

  • WHO CARES IT WAS A WONDERFUL MOVIE

And she is gorgeous and speaking the truth. I don't look at people for their race anymore I see people for who they are. That sounded cliche but hey it's true.

  • i love her smile...so pretty!

  • the only people that are mad as hell that the prince is not black --is black man.

    .

why is it o.k. for black man to do movie with white woman and no one complain?

    .

but as soon black woman do movie with white man all hell break lose.

  • the prince did look white

  • DISNEY IS AN EVIL CORPORATION.

  • yes and theres a person on cbeebies with no arm big deal black people all around the world are in tv programmes and films there still human just cause the colour of their skin doesnt mean there different
