Back in 96 i had a old ford pickup with a thumpin system instead of crap i had the WJ Essentials...this song made me re adjust my mirrors and ramblin man.......love WJ my whole life never knew him but i miss him dearly.......not music for pussys See you someday hoss
Very, very cool. My tastes tend to lean more towards hard rock, but I've always been a huge Waylon fan. I started playing guitar 30+ years ago by learning all the Waylon and Elvis songs I knew and was actually fortunate enough to have seen them both when I was young. No other country artist even compares to ol' Waylon.
Whats wrong with Gaga fans SSRogue. I am a huge fan of Waylon and Gaga is great too. I always said that anyone who only listens to one type of music is cheating themselves out of ALOT of great music. I do have to agree that anyone who would dislike this song does not have much taste. Waylon will live forever in our hearts. #1 OUTLAW !!!
NO BETTER OUTLAW THEN WAYLON,To bad he's not around ! I would LOVE FOR HIM AND Hank to set the libs and commies staight ! Waylon first of the country OUTLAW MOVEMENT,1ST,AND THE BEST! We miss you HOSS!
raven, real country music does still exist. go look for justin trevino, amber digby, or heather myles. or bobby flores or miss leslie and her juke jointers. I have to admit that I never knew Ralph had his C6 neck up front like Curly Chalker
Gonna keep the Lonesome Onry and Mean way of life alive Waylon, that's a promise......If you don't like it, then avoid me, cuz I'm real and part of a family that promotes the old ways of livin'.....Friends, Family, and fuck the rest
Went out to Nick's last night and burnt the floor down to this song...Thank God theres girls that know how to two-step and the "Hoss" to make 'em want to!!!! Waylon you will always be the man...I'm sure you're playing the stage in that big honkytonk in the sky!
best song by waylon has to be bob wills is still the king, he is the original outlaw because he wasnt going to play nashville music, god bless outlaw country and thank god for texas country continue what was started decades ago
This is absolutely my favorite Waylon song. I wish that more "artists" were as independent as he was because he made the rules for his own music unlike alot of the proscribed mumbo that passes as Country today. Most artists now are only workin' on a hit. Waylon worked on his SOUND--hit or miss. That's what made him great. I don't love all of his stuff but I love Waylon and when he was "on" he was dead-on. This song and this live clip prove it.
If I have heard this once i have heard it a million time's and everytimne it give me goose bump's when Waylon Get's on that Teleacaster......WAYLON RULES !!!!!!!!!!!!!
GREAT ! If you know anything about the ROOTS of Rock & Roll and what happened when Waylon gave up his seat on that air plane you know there was a reason for Jennings to keep pickin. We are blessed that he lived on !
Music is a feeling. If you listen to this song and say, damn what a feeling...than you know what the good life in the name of jesus christ is. its music - but its the feeling. god bless you and people just like you waylon...good christian southerners...long live country music and ....the country feeling....Glory to God. Bless his name.
now them boys threw down on that. Sometimes i think that's were im heading . Im voicing the fight 4 the working man threw my country rym. Check my channel out
Waylon Jennings music has never lost its thump. I listened to his music in the 70's as a kid and now as an adult and it sounds better every time I hear it. I think they call it "vintage" better with age. Call his music country, rock, etc......but the true sound of it all was "Waylon Music"
The thing that made Waylon Waylon was the way he stood out and ran things his way and told the big record executives to take a hike, Waylons music will always live on. I believe Waylons Steel Player just passed away a few months back
man waylon could pick that telecaster !! some people forget how good a guitarist he really was. i think 'ol waylons headlining at the heaven honky tonk !!
@stowles1 definitely not. Ralph Mooney is his name, and he just died here a few weeks ago. Bob Wills was a fiddle, singer and band leader from Texas in before waylons time, there is lots of utube stuff with him in it as well.
I like some of the new stuff, I played this kinda music when i was a kid...worked at a county Hall running stage lighting, got to do Waylon & Will show back in the mid 80's....there will never be music made like this again, they can try and duplicate it... but never replace it!!
Waylon was a friend of mine and I saw Ralph Mooney play with him countless times. How could Ralph die and me not hear about it until I saw your post on YouTube? Ralph was always VERY nice to me and my family. God Bless, Hokey Sloan
In my humble opinion, this is THE most BADASSED song he ever recorded ! and that's saying a lot cause there were a lot of badassed ones ! Once when he came to Tulsa, I went around back of the club he was playing at where his and Jessi's buses were parked. Believe it or not Waylons bus was Rocking back and forth and I don't mean from music. I guess he was getting happy before the show. It must have worked because it was the best of the 4 shows I saw him perform at. God bless him !
Saw on CMT.com that the legendary Ralph Mooney passed away today. He was 82 years old. He had been battling cancer. One of the all-time greats. Bet he and Waylon are making incredible music up in heaven. God Bless you Ralph :-)
Waylon ,Willie, Merle, George are all true country, not like todays head banging "COUNTRY' .I'm just trying to carry on the legends of real country thru my kids!!! by the way they freakin love Justin Bieber!!!

Modern country is thee most ridiculous fake soulless bullshit I ever heard. Waylon's music has balls, which almost every other country singer doesn't have nowadays. R.I.P. man.
Waylon had an individual style! An "outlaw" who didnt fit the normal (sic) Nashville country singing style! Most country music artists today fit the "cookie cutter" Nashville sound. It is always artists like Waylon who refuse to conform who develop into great artists and individualists! We are fortunate to have these type artists.
I believe I've read just about every post on this board. and I agree that this is the real country that is so far gone now and chills us to the bone. Seems it's all highlights and how much f. jewelry you can wear and buying designer jeans that pre-ripped up.. lol.. Just for the record I play alot of gigs around North Carolina with the Rollin Highway band and we have put this song in our set list. It's still received well over 30 years later. So cheers to keeping it real to my fellow pickers!

Modern country is thee most ridiculous fake soulless bullshit I ever heard. Waylon's music has balls, which almost every other country singer doesn't have nowadays. R.I.P. man.

Get a haircut hippy! ;-) j/k Wayon was one of only a few legends in Country Music.
