  • Very, very cool. My tastes tend to lean more towards hard rock, but I've always been a huge Waylon fan. I started playing guitar 30+ years ago by learning all the Waylon and Elvis songs I knew and was actually fortunate enough to have seen them both when I was young. No other country artist even compares to ol' Waylon.

  • I don't typically like country music but I love this song. He has a cool sounding voice.

  • The one and only Ralph Mooney on pedal steel. Long live Ralph !

  • Whats wrong with Gaga fans SSRogue. I am a huge fan of Waylon and Gaga is great too. I always said that anyone who only listens to one type of music is cheating themselves out of ALOT of great music. I do have to agree that anyone who would dislike this song does not have much taste. Waylon will live forever in our hearts. #1 OUTLAW !!!

  • NO BETTER OUTLAW THEN WAYLON,To bad he's not around ! I would LOVE FOR HIM AND Hank to set the libs and commies staight ! Waylon first of the country OUTLAW MOVEMENT,1ST,AND THE BEST! We miss you HOSS!

  • waylon could have sang this souless counrty we have today and it would sound just right

  • Gonna keep the Lonesome Onry and Mean way of life alive Waylon, that's a promise......If you don't like it, then avoid me, cuz I'm real and part of a family that promotes the old ways of livin'.....Friends, Family, and fuck the rest

  • fucking bad ass tune

  • @ iamstyx2004 You are dead on , those people probably like that crap they call country today, 18 reatards

  • Keith Urban gives a salute to Waylon in his current tour! Two thumbs up!

  • to compare waylon to modern country is like comparing steak and shit.

  • @outlawcountryman You certainly have that right. One of a kind Waylon was....so sadly missed. saj

  • ANSWER: because there's a village missing 18 idiots somewhere.....

  • Waylon is playing in that big concert in the sky....can't wait to get a ticket!

  • Badass. Those blue gums and Bieber freaks don't have a clue.

  • # ashleyfeathers love your comment.

  • the 18 people who disliked this are Rascal flatts fans

  • roothead can hug a root.Im sure he is one of those hiphop fags that are into the shit where nobody plays an instrument, yet they call it music.

  • This is absolutely my favorite Waylon song. I wish that more "artists" were as independent as he was because he made the rules for his own music unlike alot of the proscribed mumbo that passes as Country today. Most artists now are only workin' on a hit. Waylon worked on his SOUND--hit or miss. That's what made him great. I don't love all of his stuff but I love Waylon and when he was "on" he was dead-on. This song and this live clip prove it.

  • glad to see i aint the only youngon to hear this man 11my age my daddy playes this over and over and i love it

  • If I have heard this once i have heard it a million time's and everytimne it give me goose bump's when Waylon Get's on that Teleacaster......WAYLON RULES !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GREAT ! If you know anything about the ROOTS of Rock & Roll and what happened when Waylon gave up his seat on that air plane you know there was a reason for Jennings to keep pickin. We are blessed that he lived on !

  • Nobody could ever do it the way ol Hoss did....RIP brother!!!!

  • AMERICA! Turba Diesel Power!

  • WOO HOO! SHREVEPORT!!

  • so much soul in his voice

  • @SouthernPride67 for a kid (no disrespect) ur age ur wise beyond ur years ol Waylon was the best his music will live 4ever

  • I was born in 37' a sharecropers son ........ Happy Birthday Hoss We miss ya

  • @waylonfan01 I was Born in 95. I miss ole Waylon They dont make Country singers like they Usedta.

  • The best Two-step ever made...but ya gotta have a woman that can burn it down to keep up! I know that I can burn it down with the best~!

  • Happy birthday Waylon!!!!!

  • Music is a feeling. If you listen to this song and say, damn what a feeling...than you know what the good life in the name of jesus christ is. its music - but its the feeling. god bless you and people just like you waylon...good christian southerners...long live country music and ....the country feeling....Glory to God. • One thing I do not need up there is a haylord - just let me meet the big W and listening to his music!

  • a "perfect" example of outlaw country!!

  • What does on'ry actually mean?

  • @bronzekite It means that the person is no one to f_ck with!

  • @bronzekite it means your one stubborn sum bitch

  • @bronzekite your not from the south...... it means pissed agravated fustrated.all at the same time!

  • FUCK YES!!! THE MAN! OUTLAW COUNTRY!!!!!!

  • You should hear Travis Tritt sing this....Awesome cover!

  • 17 people had their speakers off.

  • Now i'm down in this valley,

Where the wheels turn so low

At dawn i pray, to the Lord of my soul

I say do Lord, do right by me

You know I'm tired of being lonesomeon'ry and mean

  • Waylon Jennings music has never lost its thump. I listened to his music in the 70's as a kid and now as an adult and it sounds better every time I hear it. I think they call it "vintage" better with age. Call his music country, rock, etc......but the true sound of it all was "Waylon Music"

  • The thing that made Waylon Waylon was the way he stood out and ran things his way and told the big record executives to take a hike, Waylons music will always live on. I believe Waylons Steel Player just passed away a few months back

  • Mooney was always great but Waylon got the best out of him

  • awsome tune

  • man waylon could pick that telecaster !! some people forget how good a guitarist he really was. i think 'ol waylons headlining at the heaven honky tonk !!

  • That's the foot that made Merle Haggard a star RIP Moon there will never be another like you

  • @TheWrench84 You need help

  • @TheWrench84 You need help

  • bob wills????, you kiddin???

  • just asking, is that Bob Wills on the steel guitar?

  • @stowles1 definitely not. Ralph Mooney is his name, and he just died here a few weeks ago. Bob Wills was a fiddle, singer and band leader from Texas in before waylons time, there is lots of utube stuff with him in it as well.

  • I like some of the new stuff, I played this kinda music when i was a kid...worked at a county Hall running stage lighting, got to do Waylon & Will show back in the mid 80's....there will never be music made like this again, they can try and duplicate it... but never replace it!!

  • The best doin his best we miss ya hoss

  • That was some mighty fine a pickin' and a singin'.

  • This and I've always been Crazy are my anthems LOL

  • Waylon Jennings is and will always be the man!

  • That guitar sound is crazy. Nobody did it like Waylon

  • until this day waylon is still the coolest mf'er they ever was or ever will be~!

  • Dear christrulz14

Waylon was a friend of mine and I saw Ralph Mooney play with him countless times. How could Ralph die and me not hear about it until I saw your post on YouTube? Ralph was always VERY nice to me and my family. God Bless, Hokey Sloan

  • reminds me of @MeSoOrnery on Twitter

  • aint never heard of josh turner or gary allen. they must sang this bad rock n roll they now call country.

  • Im ready to go to shreveport and down to new orleans.

  • In my humble opinion, this is THE most BADASSED song he ever recorded ! and that's saying a lot cause there were a lot of badassed ones ! Once when he came to Tulsa, I went around back of the club he was playing at where his and Jessi's buses were parked. Believe it or not Waylons bus was Rocking back and forth and I don't mean from music. I guess he was getting happy before the show. It must have worked because it was the best of the 4 shows I saw him perform at. God bless him !

  • @Mr1962KDSelvis

What a story. love it man. Waylon was the best.

  • The best ever!

  • I'll never be cool enough to deserve my Waylon records.

  • Saw on CMT.com that the legendary Ralph Mooney passed away today. He was 82 years old. He had been battling cancer. One of the all-time greats. Bet he and Waylon are making incredible music up in heaven. God Bless you Ralph :-)

  • give me a sunn yday, lawn chair, case of beer, some waylon jennings, david allan coe and merle haggard music..

  • No Waylon might teach him some skills and the man loved kids

  • true outlaw country,, I loved this man's voice, in everything he ever sang or played,

  • ALL I KNOW IS I ENJOYED ALOT OF ALKEEHALL ON THE RIVER WITH MISTER JENNINGS

  • This song is about me . (

  • How could anyone dislike this?

  • @roothead1 I was just asking the same thing. Waylon is by far my favorite Country musician.

  • @roothead1

They don't. There's trolls that just like to go around showing how miserable their life is and spewing negativity.

  • @rubbersole79 Well said!

  • @roothead1 cause its country.

  • @roothead1 They might be gay? lol

  • @roothead1 bieber fans....

  • that my friends in one of the greatest songs of all time sung by the greatest singer of all time

  • Waylon ,Willie, Merle, George are all true country, not like todays head banging "COUNTRY' .I'm just trying to carry on the legends of real country thru my kids!!! by the way they freakin love Justin Bieber!!!

  • waylon's so good this will slap your grandkids...lol...

  • this is old school yall

  • Waylon is awesome.

  • @blindsight1987 Everyone should read Waylon's biography. It's facinating, what a life he lead. Kris Kristofferson has said that Waylon was the best C & W singer. I surely agree with this. No one had his voice, looks and he could really pick that guitar. Gone too soon and so sadly missed. Stephanie

  • Waylon is awesome.

  • this what you call real country

  • Waylon's turd had more substance to it than Justin Bieber's bubble gum jumping, candy filled, fluffy haired, whole being!!!

  • Waylon is a God. Long live an outlaw we all loved!

  • Not much of a country fan. Had forgotten all about Waylon and this all-time great song that sounds better today than I remember. Thanks for refreshing my memory. Totally uncanned and straight from the heart.

  • Today's artist can't put words to music and give it that electricity like the old timers did.Waylon , Johnny ,Willie, Hank , Merle. Just don't make them like that anymore. May be I am just getting old.

  • @bulldog10950 man im 18 and i feel the exact same way, todays stuff absolutly blows.

  • @bulldog10950 You ain't gettin old, you just have good taste in music.

  • one of my faves.

but I doubt ol Waylon would be bothered by Justin Bieber or anyone like that if he were still here

  • Still love me some Waylon.Shooter too.Great post

  • great song and the two best pickers in country music,WAYLON AND RALPH.

  • @rixtonlad Waylon and Ralph -two of the best country pickers ever and an untouchable combination!!!

  • @rixtonlad

what's Ralph's full name? Im new in country music so im looking for stuff that i like.

  • @DrinkingandStinking Ralh Mooney and yes they were great together. Most people didn't know that

Waylon could pick that Telecaster like no other. Both are simply wonderful and both are sadly missed. sj

  • @DrinkingandStinking Ralph Mooney. Was very experimental in tunings and played some smokin stuff on the dukes of hazzard chase scenes.

  • loveeee the baddest Outlaw,, lucky jessi, Waylon was one of a kind...

  • im liking only 15 have dislked this. old waylon still is popular rest his soul wish he was around today to give new country a push

  • @MrHeadscan i love waylon he was awesome and the coolest sexiest voice ever, but have to give the kid his due, he does have a huge following, the bieber lol hes alright, im open minded person and i think there is room and audience for all artists even if we like them or not,

  • This is how music was meant to be heard.......it's got the guts and the glory.....when he told a story in a song,it took ya there, without ever making ya, look back......Waylon will never be forgotten,I know I won't forget him.Thats why I'm starting a tribute show......Check out my video's and tell me what ya think!!!

  • Pure country at its finest. Waylon was no doubt one of the best.

  • Agree, Mr. Head..... all pussy shit these days. Whens the next one gonna come by?

  • @dthomp1982 A bit has with Zac Brown Band. That's as close as we can come for now.

  • Waylon would be slaping the chit out of most of todays country music!!!!

  • Waylon would be slaping the shit out of most of todays country music!!!!

  • I'm from Germany and unfortunately over here not many people know what REAL country music (as mentioned before) means. This song is so powerful! I love Waylon.

However, being German, what the fuck does "on'ry" mean???

  • @bukonseven on'ry is an alternate spelling of "ornery" which means "having an irritable disposition"

  • HELL YEA if you don't like WAYLON your a candy ass.he;ll show you where the bear sh-t and the buckwheat is.tell'em son

  • The best ever doin his best ever long live the music and memories of Waylon Jennings ( pick it moon)

  • whats on the back of his guitar where the tuning knobs are? is that something to drop him into drop d? I think he used that quite a bit

  • This is REAL country music!!

  • and a damn fine guitar player to ^

  • COUNTRY MUSIC- see waylon jennings

WAYLON JENNINGS- The greatest country singer that never was nor never will be a has been, his time may be up but his music will live forever

REFERENCES- any country music fan that that knows what there talking about

  • Modern country is thee most ridiculous fake soulless bullshit I ever heard. Waylon's music has balls, which almost every other country singer doesn't have nowadays. R.I.P. man.

  • The best of the best!

  • i think Jamey Johnson might have rubbed some of Waylon on himself at some point!!

  • I've never even hear a justin what's his names song....

  • i never knew how gifted he was

  • Get a haircut hippy! ;-) j/k Wayon was one of only a few legends in Country Music.

  • Waylon had an individual style! An "outlaw" who didnt fit the normal (sic) Nashville country singing style! Most country music artists today fit the "cookie cutter" Nashville sound. It is always artists like Waylon who refuse to conform who develop into great artists and individualists! We are fortunate to have these type artists.

  • SIMPLY THE BEST EVER

  • give it to em waylon you kick ass over all these nashville wimps of today.

  • I believe I've read just about every post on this board. and I agree that this is the real country that is so far gone now and chills us to the bone. Seems it's all highlights and how much f. jewelry you can wear and buying designer jeans that pre-ripped up.. lol.. Just for the record I play alot of gigs around North Carolina with the Rollin Highway band and we have put this song in our set list. It's still received well over 30 years later. So cheers to keeping it real to my fellow pickers!

  • amen! real outlaw country is dead
