Wow, the way you used to get your sprite was just...terrible. It's more efficient to use 2 paint programs, select the sprite you want, and copy and paste it to the other paint program. What you did was just....horrible to watch....

@sophiamackin yes you can. just make sure that it looks EXACTLY THE SAME each time you draw it apart from a little bit of the sprite. when your done drawing it in paint, save it as 24 bitmap and use photoshop or whatever as you would if you used premade sprites. hope this helps!
