The tune you are referring to is 'Charade' (Henry Mancini's theme to the movie of the same name). Chet played it on 'Chet Atkins Goes To The Movies' back in the early '70s and it stuck with me. - JS
On the 'Chet Atkins' Licks & Tricks video at 2:41 I'm playing a bit of 'Anything Goes' from my 'Guitar Cafe' CD. There are a lot of nice arrangements on that recording. I don't have a TAB chart available for that tune. A similar one though, if you want to take a look, is 'Chattanooga Choo Choo'... Thanks, John
sir,it`s people like yourself with their patience, and guidance that help others like myself to truly enjoy playing, listening and appreciate the beauty of a guitar.Thank you so much!!!
Very interesting. I play mostly John hurt pieces (when I play fingerstyle), and it's pretty amazing how similar these techniques are. Can I assume Travis/Atkins picking drew inspiration from piedmont/country blues?
Thank you for the Excellent Demo ! Like many others, I significantly appreciate your guidance and inspiration!
Unlike, and/ 'er opposite of, Chet (& "U" too!), the older I get, the better " i " was.....? I'm hope'n I arrive nearer to that skill level someday down the trail.... My personal Camp-town Ladies throw dog rocks at me in the practice room. Oh, DOO-DOO DAY! More muting at the bridge required?
@sternegucker83 Thanks for the nice words. I'm working on a deal with the Truefire folks to develop an entire fingerstyle guitar teaching course soon. Should really be nice and filmed in HD with 3-camera shoots, etc... John
@phihungnoowin Sometimes I think that I put all this stuff out there in cyberspace and nobody is listening. Then I'll get a comment like this or through an email and it always makes my day. Thanks... John
JOHN,
Please help me.
What is the title of the song sample you play at 3:03 to 3:14 of this video? (in A minor)
I know it, I just can't think of the title.
Thank you, a fan
