A lot of games like StarCraft and Age of Empires, even Counter Strike can be played on netbooks, usually.

But for advanced stuff, I have my beautiful desktop replacement laptop.

Student wanting to type essays at home/on the move. Also need to check e-mails quite consistently! As a student, I don't need gaming or video editing.

Netbook or laptop?

I am sure the answers is obvious, but being able to write up essays at home/on the go, I need to know if a netbook would be good for me. Any suggestions on models Budget is about £300. Thanks. Great video!

10 inch is too small. 12 Inch ultra portables (netbook) are the way to go.

I am thinking about buying a netbook for a relative who is a broke single mother college student. Is it practical for her to type a term papers with the smaller, cheaper netbook? As long as it comes with a USB port can she use a thumbdrive to store her work and print it out at my house will that work? Do most of them come with some sort of word processing? Or is this a bad idea? I want to help her, but I don't really want to spend six-hundred bucks.

@FiberMania I bought a netbook the other day , they are really good for students!

Most of them now come with Windows 7 Starter , And Open Office software wich replaces Microsoft Office!

All netbooks support all basic features like web browesing , seeing videos , music , and lots of games are supported , i really thing you should buy her a netbook plus netbooks cost about 300 euros or 300 dollars!

Can I play any flash online games on any netbook? Can I watch, rate, comment, and favorite any YouTube vids on it? Can I play any Playfish games on it? I want to know.

@dafranx Heavy Flash Games with 3D textures will may run slow but 90% of the flash games are playable!

And yes u can very very easily watch youtube videos and join social websites like facebook and MSN and talk instantly!

I got an 11.6" Acer Aspire as1410 with a good 1.4ghz CPU and and 4gbs of RAM. Does everything I want and can do much more than that Samsung can do. All for $100 less, and probably cheper now.
