Just some constructive criticism, I think you should learn much easier stuff than what you're trying to cover on YouTube. They're way out of your league to be honest. Again, it's nothing personal and really I'm trying to help you. Get rhythm stuff down on simpler stuff first before you worry about solos. If you love metal and wouldn't want to learn some Beatles stuff or something, try Black Sabbath songs. Something like Iron Man that's really recognizable.

That's not exactly the best way to approach guitar playing haha. Usually if you make mistakes, you should fix them...pretty much the only way to get better. But I'm not here to make decisions for you, so whatever you do is your business. Actually, I meant more like not playing any leads at all, just getting rhythm down on easier stuff. Do you like stuff other than newer metal?

I'd suggest Drones by Rise Against, actually crope182 and I did a collaboration on that if you want to check it out. Cool rhythms and it sounds harder than it is haha. @MrJoeyGregan nice one.. again.. if you're trying to get your rhythms down, i would suggest you cover metallica. Just do hetfield's stuff. Start with easier stuff like Enter Sandman, Seek And Destroy, then gradually you can move onto Master of Puppets, Battery etc which have insane downpicking. I am a lead player as well, and i noticed the same flaw that i needed to tighten up my rhythms first. Covering Metallica really helped me a lot. i can now easliy play even complex death metal

Thanks for the support...I had to defend my playing after his first comment. I know the tapping wasn't on point, but it was learned by ear and a technique I don't use very often. Also, this was over a year ago. So this guy doesn't really have room to talk after his "cover."

I can't believe you're criticizing my playing after your cover of Waking The Demon...honestly, check out your playing before you criticize others. This cover is over a year old and figured out by ear.

Jeff Hanneman's father fought in WWII and has been interested in Nazis (Angel of Death, Unit 731, etc.). If the eagle had its head turned right, it'd stand for Hitler's Third Reich. It's head is turned to the left though, and that just stands for power and strength. They probably wouldn't be able to make guitars supporting Neo-Nazism. You'll also see him with "SS" inlays on some of his ESPs.

he means that you're doing the hammer tap kind... so you hammer on the fret and then tap with your finger... but its the opposite way around^^ you tap the 19 fret and then pull of from 15 to 12 ;) and so on....

Petrucci's a shredder too. I think both shredding and technique/beautiful soloing is a perfect mix. But shredding takes a lot more hard work and practice in my opinion. It's certainly not "ugly." In my solos I try to mix shredding and melodies, but this is a COVER.

Well, my camera's really up close, you can pause it each different shape that Padge goes through, it's not hard if you break it down (it was much harder learning it by ear, I didn't find the tabs till afterwards). Just practice it with a metronome to get it up to speed.

Thanks man! It's an LTD JH-600 (Jeff Hanneman's signature). It is the 07 model with the war eagles in the inlays and the Floyd Rose, the ones now I don't like as much :P It is also a lot better than a lot of ESPs I tried, I highly reccomend this guitar! Even the new one :P
