Love this interview. It takes a lot of guts to admit your thoughts and opinions in such a public way. John Mayer is one deep guy and I love it. I am also a perfectionist! I think Continuum is his best album, I swear I can listen to every song on it without fast-forwarding through any of it, but Battle Studies is a very, very close 2nd. I think he is one of the best guitarists ever!
I love john mayer but I feel he over analyzes sometimes and he tends to get himself into trouble. I think he just needs to relaxe and just let the music come out. Just let it flow. I feel when He just relaxes he will be able to create an album that rivals some of the greatest albums of all time. I think Mayers talents are a bit restrained due to his emotional issues, but if he could get over that, their is no telling what type of master piece he could produce.

Even John says Continuum was his best...although its rather arbitrary to group songs into the order in which they came out. I love RFS, and Clarity is worth $1,000,000 to me. Continuum is near perfect and Battle Studies is his "free answer," like on Millionaire: he can only drop back to Continuum.
I do love RFS because I was so pure but I just love the whole Heavier Things Album. It's like every song on it was so much deeper than the lyrics ya know. Made ya think about your own life. I could see why he thinks Continuum was the best though. Every song was so unique and he could jam out to it. Lol.

How do you get off judging someone by what the tabloids say? journalists devote their lives to finding information about john mayer that will destroy his life. so yeah they print every negative side of him. But in reality we dont know shit about who he is. and your clearly not a music fan because every good musician makes "some fucking strange faces", louis armstrong, Otis redding, bob marley...it just means they sing with soul. dont watch his videos and leave shit comments that have no value.
