According to Elvis Costello, this is the first song he learned on guitar. He also used to see Peter Green circa 1970 at the "local record shop", and he "looked like Jesus".
Feel the depth of this song. Listen to the words too. This song came right out of Peters soul. You can feel Peters despair in this tune. I often wondered what might have been if someone could have only taken Peter in hand, and kept him away from drugs.
Some say that this song was Peters call for help. Certainly he was battling with drugs, and just fell off the ladder of life and threw it all away. I thank God that Peter made it back to us. He is so very gifted. Mick Fleetwood is right....such a short run but 40 years later we are all still talking about it. Why? Because it was genius.
Peter Green.....what a gifted musician. Danny Kerwan too......superb. Such beautiful songs they gave us. Songs to inspire musicians and listeners alike. Not just songs, but musical works of art. In addition to this piece look at Albatross....so beautiful....and Oh Well....so gutsy. Remember how long ago this was. No modern aids. Truly, these musicians are legends.
I remember this song on my 'transistor radio' in the 70's. Didnt know much about Fleetwood Mac and even less about Peter Green. He had a huge impact on music and guitar playing: influenced Santana and Gary Moore for sure :) Timeless song
Peter Green. A massive load of the parts in the jigsaw of modern music. He fell off the ladder, so many of us did. Thanks to You Tube keeping it all going. And thank you again Peter for being so happy mate.
That's what great music is---Music that makes You feel like it's talking directly to you or about You---- Its sad that there's not more music like this around anymore...
@fuzzygreenduck: Peter and I do not have anything in common, except for that 29. I'm glad that we do; this could possibly be the only matter of pride in my life.
He is a Legend and he went right into his soul to give us this incredible music. He is loved, and as been since the first time I stuck his posters on my psychadelic wall in the 60s (courtesy of Jackie magazine)
i watched the whole Bio last night & thought what a honest & frank account of what happened back then by everybody who was there, what amazing guy he was then and is now & I'm really so glad to see he back from the other side for it all and making music again.
I love that Peter Green gave it all to us. He is a gift to us. I respect this man so much, then and now. He made the most of it, no regrets, life is what it is, we have very little control over it. You know he's grinning from ear to ear when he listens to his recordings, God what a gift!!!

@itsnotinthisbox Absolutely right, unless someone has been through and come out the other side of the Lsd experience, they have no right to comment on this kind of thing whatsoever. I tripped a half dozen times or so in the early 2000's not counting shrooms, ecstacy, ketamine and what not. My first lsd trip nearly thew me for a complete loop and looking back it was all foolish but just something I felt I had to do at the time. Some people just leave the psychedelic experience touched for life.
@DaveS12382 Hello! i just saw your comment and tought you might tell me something about lsd. I tried coke and MDMA before, and now i'm on to lsd cuz i really want to know what it is like. Basically what i'm asking you is: do you regret taking it? or are you happy that you took it because it showed you how little you liked it or something?
@flyboysevere I'm aware of everything you're telling me and I thank you for your concern. I'll be careful and only do it with people I really trust! I'm kind of in an experiencing fase of my life lol.
@CrazyLuca I don't reget taking it in my early twenties half a dozen times or so but I would not take it again. And it is everything you've fantasized and built it up to be and then some. The ultimate craziest shit you can do, the biggest mindfuck.

@CrazyLuca
Just be careful ! Do it somewhere safe ,with people that can look after you if it goes 'Bad' ,which it can,in ways you can't even begin to imagine .
I speak from experience, flashbacks can and do happen, be careful.
May you find that which you seek and not the things that CAN find you !
