Kune vose valatsamwiswa nesong iyi I understand your point. But I think Steve Makoni is addressing towards those vanoita zvekusasana. He is warning them about the dangers of HIV/AiDS, which none of us doubt. But that does not mean that everyone who has it akaiwana nekusasana. The message goes towards vachiri kufarira zvekusasana. So I think zvinoremekedzeka kutaura chokwadi towards kwatinoti kudya nyika rutivi.
I stand in solidarity with those who got it innocently. May the Lord have mercy.
difficult to ascertain whether the guy is giving constructive advice or he is taking the piss outta people dying or living positively. it is distasteful and believe you me i have lost brothers and sisters to the scourge. if you one of the few lucky ones whose families have never been visited by the epidemic maybe you will find the banana issue a joke and its your freedom to laugh and think makachenjera.
@mogoddaz i don't think he is taking the piss since 1999 i've going back home every year and all my boys are gone . you know growing in harare , in my street they were36 boys of my age now it,s 7 of us left . man this is real . i love ladies but now from a distance peace
The message here should actually be given time on national television in Zimbabwe may be that might save a few more lives. imagine how many tobacco adverts they flash everyday, how many political adverts and propaganda they show yet the real issues are ignored.
thanks steve ,you are the best.I like it when the truth is told.Yes they are cases when the virus is transmitted by other means but 99.9% is thru zvechpfambi
People are trying to fight the stigmatisation of HIV. I understand that he sang this song when people used to think HIV can only go to prostitutes and wayward people, but people are now more educated. HIV/AIDS is affecting even innocent people, people who are faithful to their partners. I think if people are still thinking like this the fight will be in vain. I like Steve but not this song, most people lost hama neshamwari dzaisambosasana kana. Indeed I feel angry.
@hmakings, dont hide behind your finger hama yangu, ever since this so called stigma fight started have you experienced an change in terms of behavior on the part of the Zimbabwean people. i think Steve deserve to be commended for coming up with such a piece, it is actually reminding us that what ever we are doing is bad. i like the humor in this song, it actually warn our people the dangers of having multiple sex partners, kusasana doesnt mean with prostitutes ( mahure0 commercial sex workers.
It may be not to ur taste the way some people educate others but people are not taking really abt HiV.Maybe they need a rude awakening coz chokwadi vanhu varikutora HIV seSTD which can be treated ndosaka Steve arikuedza kuvaudza.Vamwe vanenge vachiziva chirikuvarwadza asi vanoenda kun'anga
Is it only vakazeyesana nerovambira who are dying? Is it vakasasana who are dying? The problem with this kind of attitude is that people will continue to avoid HIV tests if society still say such things about the pandemic. I like the feel of the song but not the lyrics. I am angry, Really angry.
This song is OUT of TUNE. We are fighting stigmatiztion of HIV/AIDS and we get this from a seasoned musician. "Ukangorumwa ganda ndondondo, tsva, midnight, bvudzi romhorosa vatorwa" - Please, this can't be acceptable in a society like ZIM. It is ok to warn people but you can't do it in such an incosiderate manner.
@tajm1974, what wrong with it? after all the efforts we have had in Zim fighting this scourge we still get new cases every day and i think when People Like Steve use strong terms in reminding our people about HIV and AIDS it might work
