@AlmaEnsa: velho means OLD? How dare you? It's the most modern "classic" music ever. Disculpe pero solo puedo respondir en español: Esto es la màs moderna de las musicas classicas ... como puedes tu llamarla vieja?
@beeterolds: they NEVER can "replace" neither Bonzo nor JPJ ... and they proved they are sincere when they stopped earning money after Bonham's death. Now an orchestra for Jones is ok but what would you need to replace that drummer out of heaven or hell? ;-)

@XxBinilxX it wouldne be..just look at the buttons near the neck pickup that for the black line that appears like a steel plate or sticker...and the bridge..look how it isnt a regular stop piece.ive seen Jimmy place a cherry one on SNL..and so the great mystery continues on
@celicman2 I tried the link but nothing came up relating to Zeppelin, just a mish-mash of seemingly unrelated content. Maybe I did something wrong? Should I have added anything to it? Maybe I'm link challenged lol
I just love how when MTV told these two that they wanted to do an 'Unplugged' recording of them in New York, they decided they would rather re-compose all of their music and travel to Morocco to do it instead. Page and Plant are just a cut above most other musicians.
I've always said that Kashmir is one of those songs that could be accompanied by a full symphony orchestra and it would sound great. This is a condensed but excellent example of that.
I just smoked some good hash to this song........wow. Not saying that you can't enjoy this straight, but man smoking hash and this is like PB&J, they just go together. : )
The moment at 6:38 is where this performance takes off and soars. The interplay among Page&Plant, the LSO, and the Egyptian Orchestra is stunning. I recommend the CD of this tour "No Quarter," which has this performance -- uncut/unedited and sounding great. So glad this was captured on both video and CD.
@0adireita No i meant, 2012 12 12!^^ That's 'The year of 2012 ,12th of December'
I made a reference ,citing the most recent calculation, of the Revelation date!
This song is describing a sunset in the middle of nowhere (in the desert) and probably under the influece of something. Plant describes it very poetically. He is describing not only a place, but also an special moment wich to me seams like, a metaphore for the Apocalypse!^^

(con't) ... Lastly, is the obvious tension between east & west, between rock, classical, eastern -- especially in the last 2 minutes. Plant obviously enjoys the performance as much as anyone in the audience; you can tell by his body language. And the obvious smiles of delight on the faces of both the UK string section and the Egyptian players brings us joy because we seek unity with others like ourselves and this moment confirms, like a moment of worship, that we're capable of being unified.
I have the DVD of this concert, and it's wonderful. But there are several reasons that the performance of 'Kashmir' works in this context. First, the song was written with obvious eastern influences and taking it 'back' to the place of its origins brings it back to its touchstone and gives it new life. Next, a song that's familiar is 'twisted' ever so slightly to sound unfamiliar to Western ears. (continued...)
