@gateopenope the last example of a 001 class (or to give it it's older clasification A class ) of which 011 is a member left the rails in 1994-95. thats not bad consideering metropolitan vickers of manchester built them in and around 1955 ! thankfully the ITG have one preserved in working order . A39 ( or 039 as it was in it's later days with C.I.E and irish rail ) now runs on a preserved railway in northern ireland .
Thanks for the comment...yes I have more somewhere...!! seem to remember there was a limerick-rosslare that went in to limerick jn then backed out then headed to rosslare filmed that..will keep my eye out for that..unfortunately no more A class though..
This is brilliant footage - thanks for adding it. There's so little on YouTube of the golden era of the diesels. If this was 1993 then 011 was at the end of its working life. The last 001 'A class' was withdrawn in 1994 if memory serves me right. Well done for posting this. Have you any more like this?
what year did the metro vick class A get taken out of service ?

That little 011 sounds like a british class 35. I think I've still got some warming to do to that GM howl, though.
