no it is just the way the notes are played. Dorian and Minor (or Aeolian) are similar, minor has a flat 6th. and that is the case for any scale that you play in dorian

For start, john uses (i'm not pretty if he uses it in this video) a fender strat from 62' which is a rare model i think, and and squier is from fender brandmark is a good guitar but it won't sound like a fender, that's why it is more cheaper fender has better components. (sorry about my bad english)

actually, this is probably one of the first concerts after he re-joined them, because he has an, "i'm not sure i can do this in front of this many people right now" pause right before the solo, and it's probably just him being unsure of himself because it's his first or second time playing in front of a live audience in years, happens to every musician once in a while.
