i also wear a hijjab...but woz wondering weather someone could tell me if women are allowed 2 do their eyebrows in islam? :S i keep getting differnet answersz :S so i hope someone can help! =]
Really nice song - it shows those Muslim women out there do it for themselves and for their God, not because they are forced, and where they are - it is due to culture not Islam!
im going to inshallah wear a scarf when ramadan starts wich is when school start you know why?, because i want ALLAH to grant me heaven thats the only reason im scared ill get punished if i dont i fear ALLAH more then people and ive made my desicion if people stop tlaking to me then i dont care as long as my Lord is pleases with me in the end, please dua for me!!!!!! PLEASEE
Okay, I have only recently been trying to learn about Islam as I dont ever want to be accused of cultural illiteracy, but I am now confused! I understood musical instraments to be hareem. If that is indeed true, defending the hajab by breaking other rules of Islam seems a bit odd. Of course if I have misunderstood, I'm confident someone will post a reply that will help me understand better.
I am not trying to be offensive to anyone, thumb down if you want.
The use of certain musical instruments is indeed haram. Instruments such as the guitar, the flute, the piano (if it uses strings), and saxophone are forbidden. Yet there are other instruments that are allowed to play and use.
Actually, the audio used in this particular video does not use any haram instruments as this track was obtained from the percussion version of artist's work. He put out two versions of the same CD, the percussion and the instrumental version. I bought the former.
Perhaps we can one day create a kind of localized cloak technology for Muslim women which turns them utterly invisible in the presence of men in public. Isn't this the ridiculous sort of technology begging to be created in the next 100 years in Saudi Arabia? You may "thumbs down" my comment all you like - it shall serve as the pefect corrolate to trying to make women disappear in public.
Please don't fool yourself; we all [should] know that this is not the purpose of the hijaab. Muslim women do not wear it for any other reason than because it was ordered by our Lord. If Western and Secular society sees it acceptable for women to wear as little as they want, let it also accept the idea that women should be able to cover as they please as well.
I have been to Omar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Lebanon. Hardly any Muslim Women atall cover themselves up in these places. It is only when they move to Western Countries and their Men dont want them to be looked at because they are insecure
Most women don't wear the hijaab in Saudia Arabia and Oman, really? and regardless again most women are NOT forced to wear it because of their husbands/fathers/brothers/sons. They CHOOSE to and people truly need to come to terms with that.
What is it you are tring to get at? If i take it as kindly as i can manage than i would agree with you because i would not mind being invinsible to the eye of stranger that toys with my beauty whilst neglectiong my intelligence. As far a Suadi Arabia goes, look at America and Europe,..no on is perfect.-peace
just cuz women wear hijab, it doesnt mean they disappear. For ppl to be able to see what u look like wont change anything in how u work, buy ur groceries or anything else.there is only good from hijab and nothing bad.plus i heard in news, doctors were telling ppl to wear clothes to totally cover their arms and legs so the sun would not harm them, another benifit.Women who wear hijab save themselves from betraying their Lord themselves and their husbands.i wear hijab and luv it, its only for my Lord
Nothing, USA isnt the only place women can wear a hijab. Everywhere in the world women can and do wear a hijab without problems. The only problem could be that the family is pushing them to wear it, but that is not because of the religion, but the culture. Dont mix religion with culture. Our religion is freedom, and freedom is islam..
Dear Sister, It is a wonderful video. Can anybody tell me how to save this video as a file to be embedded into a power point presentation. I am going to give a presentation about Hijab and I would like to put this video in the beginning of the presentation
download real player, and it will allow to download any utube video, when you view the video it will have a download button in the corner of it. Hope that helps
It's sad when some parents won't allow their daughters to do what is obligatory upon them to do. Sister, try to talk to them because wearing it is fardh on all obligatory Muslim girls. I'll make dua for you!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate your support. I have already discussed with them point by point as to why it's important to me, but they don't believe in it. They think that I don't need to wear it to be modest and that I can get security and self-confidence through other ways and the Hijab only masks my lack in security, which I think is beyond ridiculous. Indeed, Allah SWT is my only hope and I'm constantly praying for it to work out.
They also tell me that I cannot wear it as long as I am living with them, which puts me in a really bad position. So now, I'm just finishing up college (March 2008 is when I finish) and am highly considering moving back with my relatives in Texas. My relatives believe in it and are a lot more accepting of it. Only Allah SWT knows what will happen.
I wont pretend to know what you two sisters are going through, because ahamdulilah I chose to wear the hijaab at a very young age and by parents were pleased with that decision. But all I can say is, please talk to them and let them know it is wajib/obligatory upon every accountable Muslim female to observe the hijaab. This is a aprt of our deen, we should not take it lightly! I'll make d^ua for you!!
Ask them what is worse...wearing a beautiful scarf with lovely flowers and colours or dying your hair neon colours and chopping off like a street kid? Tell them that in many places the veil is more beautiful then anything else. alhamdullilah.
hijab gives a mystery, muslim women should have right to wear it, just as I have right to wear rosary... atheist westerners should understand that. Respect.
So very beautiful... Thank you for this

Sister, unfortunatly it is forbidden to trim the eyebrows. Prophet Muhamed s.a.w.s cursed the women that trim their eyebrows....! Its in hadith...!
May Allah protects you! salam

i agree with u. i wish they would leave us alone, if they cant grasp the reason for hijab.
i wear full hijab and its only for my Lord!!!

Masha'Allah, well said. I would rather claim to wear the Hijab (in its proper manner) for the sake and Love of My Rabb(LORD) than anyother rationale.

I want to be judged on the basis of my personality, not on how "pretty" I am. I cover up to hide my beauty, not to become invisible.
