@catmarilyn9 It's not...I edited this portion out of the entire clip where Terry Williams (from the First Edition) is talking to the group before the performance. My post of 'The Original Handy Man' was from the Barbara McNair show. They also did 'Let Me' which I may post soon.
@Madelow56 I think must be. From what I've read, Joe Correro Jr. left the Raiders in '71. Don't know if he was fired. Mike came back briefly ('til '72) to join Mark on in his 'solo' appearances.
Not a problem with all the replies,I love it.I was in Jr High School when Mr Sun and Mr Moon came out and had a crush Mark Lindsay and then realized..,they were not the same PRAR from a time ago when I remember seeing Fang,Smitty and Mark on the Smothers Brothers show and I just melted with Fang and practiced those dance moves at my early age..,memories are so great when life was innocent!
@Dawn1959 That's funny you should say that :) The first actual video I saw of Paul Revere & The Raiders on YouTube was the Smothers Brothers performance and they were singing "Ups And Downs" and I thought to myself, "Wow!!! These guys are awesome!!!" So then I started watching other videos of the Raiders, and I just about drove my wife crazy because I was starting to talk about them constantly!
And You're right! Life was more innocent back in the '60's than they are now!
I like this one cause they're not just lipsynching to the record. These guys could really play! Freddy was a great guitarist, and it's nice to see Smitty back there on the drums.
@ronfowlermusic Speaking of Freddy, I thought it was kinda cool when he was playing a double-neck guitar on the Ed Sullivan Show, when they performed "Him or Me". Jimmy Page would be proud.
It's great to see Smitty on drums. Mark does look better with the ponytail, that was his trademark, but the long hair is okay. That was the style in the early '70's. Paul's hair got long and he has a mustache which looks okay. Freddy and Keith are pretty cool, too, though Fang and Drake are better.
@1962drob You have got that right..,no one could compare to Smitty,Drake and Fang!! Rip Smitty and Drake, you will always be loved and missed so dearly, thanks for the memories!!!! Fang you taught us girls many a dance moves..,thank you for helping us get the guys!!!!♥♥♥♥♥
@Dawn1959 I mean, Fang, Drake and Smitty were the backbone to Paul Revere & The Raiders. And don't forget Mark with his ponytail (I know, he doesn't have it in this video). But Mark's ponytail was his trademark, and he drove the young girls wild. Ironically, I was born in '62, so when the Raiders were popular in the '60's I was just a toddler runnin' around. I did a lot of research, and I really started watching The Raiders' videos on YouTube last summer.
@Dawn1959 To continue where I left off, last summer I watched a video of Mark Lindsay singing "Arizona", which had a real cool slide show, and then I got curious and started watching some Paul Revere & The Raiders with, of course, Mark singing. Since then I've been hooked on the Raiders music. And I'm a guy too. I grew up listening to The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, etc, and I've listened to rock ever since.
@Dawn1959 Sorry to keep going on, but in response to Fang, Drake and Smitty, in my opinion, The Raiders were never the same. Drake was a great guitarist, and all the girls loved him. Of course, Fang, with his smile, and Smitty was quite a character too.
One last thing: It's entertaining to watch Mark pick on Paul and vice versa on some of the old clips. The Raiders gave kids some good entertainment which sadly, has disappeared over time :(
@Dawn1959 Just so you don't think I'm crazy, I meant the Raiders were never the same when Drake, Fang and Smitty left to form Brotherhood. Sorry, left that part out (I've been doing that a lot of late).
paul looks bored there he doesnt looks really into it,

What show did this performance take place?
I think it's from Sonny & Cher....

@MichaelKazmar It's from an early 70's comedy/variety show hosted by Kenny Rogers and Terry Williams (from The First Edition).

As I recall, Joe Jr. left to join Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds, while Smitty came back briefly before Omar Martinez took over on drums in 73.

To bze2nlz4: Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. PR&R are my favorite U.S. band, and it's great to learn new things about them. Thanks again!

Is that Mike Smith on drums? Didn't know he ever came back to PR&R after the Brotherhood. Did Paul fire Joe Correro Jr?

Sad to see this band, going out of gas & fashion.
Rather see'm doing their hippety hoppety hop routine.
Too much country whine methinks.
