Good points on here. My input: best show I saw was a little announced gig in summer 2003 at Atlantic City, NJ. Looked and sounded much like this great gig. No press, no fanfare, just the band in a club with the fans.

And yes, the set is getting a bit stale. Try something new boys, take the risks that got you here. Don't rely on 30 year old songs. If your new stuff sucks, so what? The true fans will respect you for trying. Probably more.

the problem is that Rotten has become everything he said he despised. he's turning revolution (77) into

entertainment. theyre kinda like the beatles of punk rock. he'd be ranting and raving like a motherfucker

if anybody else was doing the same shit. plus he's a fat drunken lazy ass. Pil is genuis, but he won't do it

because there is more money in a SP tour. so in that sense you are being conned. so you get the old stuff

which is great, but a bit stale. enjoyable, but not the best he can do.

Yeh maybe you're right, but if he's doing it for the money so what at least he's not pretending, like Greenday etc, it's for any other reason. His greatest, most innovative material was on Pil's Metal Box and it was genius.

I won't see them again cos they're too scared to write and perform new material, but maybe that's middle age for you, leave revolution to the young (although they don't seem interested in this decade).

You all care far too much about what this band are supposed to mean or meant. I've been a Pistols fan since I was 12 & I'm now 43, just ENJOY them! That's what they're there for!

Well I'm the same age as you and although I thought they were fucking brilliant at Brixton last year I'm now bored of the same set. Even though I'm now boring, repetetive, safe and middle aged I don't want the bands I love and watch to be that way as well; especially with a lead singer as smart and innovative as John. If they're going to carry on playing I would like them to take a risk or two. And yes I do care about what they mean or meant, if you don't go and see Take That instead.

Well of course I care about what they mean or meant, BUT, too many people think this band is so sacrosanct that not even the Sex Pistols themselves have the right to keep the band going. They worry that their legacy will be tarnished somehow, they'd like the Sex Pistols to have been preserved in aspic the moment they split in '78. That's the attitude I was getting at & I'm not saying that's your attitude too because I'm sure it isn't. I look forward to any new stuff IF they get around to it!
