But as with all machines like this, whether it be stacker, a fruit machine or anything else that involves winning something of value, there has to be a lot more people that lose on it than the amount of people that win, otherwise they wouldn't be making money out of the machine. It's rigged. Most modern skill games have a little box inside that has a set payout rate. It will only actually give the player a chance to win (you still have to do good) after however many people have played (who all lose so the owner makes profit) say there's a claw machine. 20 people play and all lose then the next person wins. That's how they work but all payout rates are different

Quick repost of everyone's comments- including my own: I'm fat (Weird Al comes to mind.) Chubby girls with hick accents invented the bulls eye. The Stacker machines are rigged according to the Lai Games manual. The manual doesn't specify if you can win after a 100 games are played or if you can win every 5,10,20 tries. Comments received on both sides. Definitely not random or always rigged, I've won 3 times and random would be gambling- would involve state legal issues... => follow-up

Here is the "rigging algorithm" : I set the number of times the machine is played until the machine will pay out, and once the machine has enough plays and you're skillful enough to hit the final block, it will pay out. There you have it, no secret algorithm. Sheesh, you can download the manuals on the internet for Pete's sake!
