Excellent review. I agree with the Dad (for lack of another name to call him) that this is the Sherlock as written by Arthur Conan Doyle. It was refreshing to see more of his character fleshed out the typical two-dimensional deer stalker cap and pipe, with magnifying glass version of Holmes that is so often seen nowadays.
Actor's Robert Downey Jr./HOLMES and Jude Law/WATSON done an splendidly exciting protrayal of the fame duo Crime Investigators: I like their "true" intake of the characters for the Icon writter Sir Conan Doyle Classic books finally fits to the roles that Prod/Director Guy Richie tried to stay true with. The only thing I found out of step is HOLMES Lab/I don't think his lab would be out of place/disarray...'cause everything to him must be in order. Anyway, great review GAB & DAD, your awesome!
Enjoyed your guys review! And THANK YOU for talking about the faithfulness to the source material!! I'm getting really annoyed in saying this Sherlock Holmes is nothing how Sherlock Holmes should be! It totally is! Anyways, I liked your guys video, keep it up! =)
I loved the movie, and adding brad pitt to that is making me feel like iv'e died and gone to movie heaven, hes amazing/ Fight club is one of the best movies of all time in my opinion
I honestly thought the movie was amazing - a bit too long- but the overall story and casting was very good :D
I really liked listening to your review on the movie, but I do have one quick question. At the end of your review, you mentioned Brad Pitt as Moriarty (I think I spelt his name wrong XD ), and I was just wondering where you heard that from?
I'm just wondering because I'm already excited and becoming impatient for the 2nd movie and I was curious who was going to be casted as Moriarty.
Thanks! I read a lot about movie news, and have read the Pitt thing mentioned by several sources. Guy Ritchie loves Pitt, and intentionally didn't reveal the Moriarty actor in #1 so that hopefully he can start using Pitt in #2! If you Google Holmes/Pitt/Moriarity/Ritchie, you should find something about it. ;)
Glad you enjoyed it guys. I thought it was a great deal of fun. You guys have great chemistry in front of the camera btw. I wish my dad would want to do that sort of thing. Bastard lol. Great review. Check out my review when you get the chance.
I'm looking forward to seeing Sherlock Holmes myself. Always loved Robert Downey Jr.'s work. And Guy Ritchie is a great filmmaker. Lock, Stock, & 2 Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and Revolver are very entertaining movies from the man. (Haven't seen Rock N'Rolla yet) Very nice to see a Ritchie film getting some big screen love.
Great Job u Too, if it was my show and i just saw Sherlock Holmes i'd Toooootally put Dad in a Sherlock Holmes get up and he'd have to solve a case, itd be well.... Just magical lol, good job guy go watch my AVATAR review id love to hear what u think!
Good review! Just wondering, how long was this movie? I need to know if I can convince my parents to go to before we go out of town after christmas..lol
Great review! I'm a little up in the air about Robert Downey, Jr. as Sherlock. I think a true British actor would have been more suitable - namely Daniel Craig. I'll still give a chance when it comes to dvd cause I like Sherlock Holmes.
One observation - I wonder why did they just call it Sherlock Holmes and not the actual case name. What's the sequel going to be - Sherlock Holmes 2? heh
A rating system would be fantastic! I hope you guys somehow figure out how to implement one without it being too distracting. Maybe one similar to Roger Ebert? He uses stars -- out of 4 to be exact.
A rating system isn't necessary for you guys, I don't think, but it could be a neat idea. :) I support your choice 100%.
He has a "keen mustache" God I love your Dad. I miss this camera set up!

@ChrisStuckmann I know, I miss it too... I just got freaked over the copyright issue, thus the less "keen" logo set we use now.

Great review!!! I thought the lead characters were wrong!!
I'm a fan of the books!! lol Sherlock Holmes was a gentleman
and professional at all times and Dr. Watson was older and
a war veteran!! I'm surprised I liked the movie!! I still prefer
Basil Rathbone!! lol Keep up the great work!!

Great Review! I'm a huge fan of Guy Ritchie's movies not to mention Jude Law. I really hope to catch this one after the holidays craziness is over.
Hey now... whats with the Iron Man bashing? Not a fan of the comics :P
