i like how the camera cuts sped up, i still wish they were more steady shots, ever think of using some found footage too? there's some cool stuff to fuck with out there, i bet you could collage some good content together...best, -j
The reason why I don't use a tripod (I do have one) is multifaceted. I work with the notion of "immediate materialism." I develop the "ontology" of the work through a rhizome network of inter-reflection. The content, media, concept, and "event" are all realized through this immediacy. For example, I was fascinated by an aspect of human eye functionality. Because of the architecture of the eye there is a perpetual blind spot precisely at the center of the pupil.
This becomes the source for the particular structure of the work. I use a fixed point and allow the area outside that fixed point to become chaotic, as is with vision/perception as such. The reasons for the omission of the tripod is a correlate. I want the extemporaneous quality of the video to reflect this hyper-immediate constellation. This is just a brief overview so if you want me to go into more depths fell free to comment. BTW, If you are interested, I would like to collaborate.
