Because, FYI, the world's largest polluters (the US and China) are polluting at higher rates than ever and now emerging countries like India and Indonesia are catching up. Globally we're putting out 29 gigatons of CO2 per/year. That's several times more than all the world's volcanoes combined going off at once. The subject of global warming is being researched by scientists all over the world with many different backgrounds and ideologies. This has nothing to do with political opinions. What scientist are arguing is that the heating we are seeing NOW(like the last 250 years) seems very likely to not be natural. We have way better data and models for this recent climate period simply because we have been there, observing and mesuring it.

Because, FYI, the world's largest polluters (the US and China) are polluting at higher rates than ever and now emerging countries like India and Indonesia are catching up. Globally we're putting out 29 gigatons of CO2 per/year. That's several times more than all the world's volcanoes combined going off at once. What scientist are arguing is that the heating we are seeing NOW(like the last 250 years) seems very likely to not be natural. We have way better data and models for this recent climate period simply because we have been there, observing and mesuring it.

If you wonder about the sun's effect, it would be a good idea to look the question up on reputable scientific web sites or in a science text instead of posting here. Try the Stanford Solar Center. But the short answer is that the sun cannot be the major factor. According to a NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), "...the solar increases do not have the ability to cause large global temperature increases...greenhouse gases are indeed playing the dominant role.."

Problem with AGW folks, they do not study the sun much, too busy trying to shut down capitalism. We know very little about the sun, only in the last few years has it been well studied.

@hopeurforfreedom Didn't you get the shit owned out of you by @Rundstedt1a few posts back? Looks like he/she covered every point needed and even cited specific articles. The sun heating up in 2011 has nothing to do with global warming; in fact it was in its deepest minimum in over a century for several years prior. Also, we know rather a great deal about the sun as we've been studying it for quite some time longer than "a few years." I'd like to see your evidence to the contrary.

If conservatives have any altruism it shouldn't matter if they believe in global warming or not. They would want to be good stewards of our God given resources. They are supposed to be conservative, why not conserve our resources so the next generation can share in our blessings. There is no logical reason to not reduce reuse recycle , study to limit emissions etc. the only reason is laziness and too much attachment to money. money that could greatly improve or world into the future
