  • @Davinderanu mar jaie to barh jati hai insan ki kimat, zinda rahe to jene ki saza deti hai dunia.

same thing happen to my favorite writter, Sadat Hassan Manto, man died in poverty and today we call him writer of the century and his books get translated into 64 languages.but please, don't lose hope and look at those who made a name for themselves in their life, Sahir Ludhanvi, Kavi Pradeep etc, they were legends in their lives. best of luck, would feel lucky if I can read your writings.

  • so true :')

  • U R all videos r very good .love this song

  • One of life shattering song. One would understand how true it is in this REAL world.

  • Awesome!! Guru Dutt was way ahead of his time

  • What a deep understanding of life is expressed in this song. It makes one realize that indeed love is the highest thing, an innocent lust free love!

  • This one poem alone is sufficient to keep the name of rebel poet Sahir Ludhianvi's name shinning in the annals of Urdu/Hindi (lets call it Hindustani) literature. May his soul rest in peace. I dont mean to discredit the singer but look at the theme of the song. It is the theme that has lent pathos to this ever lasting song. And undoubtedly Guru Dutt has done a great job of rendering this literary masterpiece in a very touching manner. May his soul rest in peace.

  • Awesome Song.. Depressing but Excellent. Love it. And loe almost every song of Guru Dutt..

  • IT means...

"This world of palaces,of crowns and wealth...

This world that is against humanity, this world of treachry and lies...this wealth hungry world...this world of rituals....what difference it makes even if this false world stands against me...

every heart here is wounded and every one is thirsty...their ways are confused and hearts are heavy....this world is world of dead not lively...here death is far cheaper than life...

  • Here youth passes like a spark of light....young bodies get ready like shops in a bazaar and love is traded like business...

what will happen even if this false world stands against me....

This world where a man has no value...where trust and friendship have no value....where love itself has no place....where hate rules....what if even this false world stands against me..."

This movie is about a poet who is betrayed in love and friendship....

  • qasam khuda ki... saahir sahab ne zehan jhinjhhod k rakh diya..!!!! rafi sahab ne dil cheer diya to Guru dutt sahab is sach ko bakhoobi manzar e aam par le aaye..!!!! may God bless them all

  • this is the world we live in....we just shrink our world and live in that small world happily.....but the truth is very bitter and harsh...nothing is rosy and loving.....at the end of all...we are part of all dis mess....and we cant escape it.....yeh duniya agar mil bhi jaye to kya....yeh duniya agar bhi mil jaye to kya.....

  • so true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song...................

  • A great song sung in a great language! But who can really understand the meaning of this song now? Not in today's Bollywood. Not in todays world of Khan Actors. These songs will never be composed again.

  • is dukh mein rehne se bhi to koi fayda nahi ki aise gaane ab nahi banenge....kal kisne dekha hai?? aaj mein aise gaane nahi bante to in gaano ko sun kar khush ho lenge...kya kehte ho?

  • very true my friend!!

  • I think only Urdu language has the depth which is seen here in the form of poetry.

  • That is true

  • Sahir Ludhianvi, he was the man, the greatest poet ever

  • this is one of the greatest lyrics of all time and what a song rendered!

this is a cry from a poet who says that the worldy success -which he got-is not worth all the sacrifice of principles and honesty-a taunt on the hollow captailists thieving system

  • A classic!

  • This is a classic song.

  • Masterpiece!

  • There is no comparison of our Hindustani music of the 40's, 50's, 60's and the 70's. Amazingly, all the players were from the pre partition period. Agar yeh mulk ka batwaara nahiin hotha yeh sab log bombai nahiin aathe aur yeh film industry would have never reached its zenith. The present Bollywood is an utter disgrace. It's all about money, money, and more money. Aap sab loge sukhii rahiyeh and lets cherish the YouTube ke puraane geeth and video's..

  • One of the Best Urdu Poetry...really speechless...just love it.

  • Jalaa do ise foonk daalo ye duniya, Mere saamne se hataa lo ye duniya.... Ye duniya agar mil bhi jaye to kya hai ... ye duniya agar mil bhi jaye to kya hai ...

  • song of songs

  • WHAT A BEAUTIFUL URDU POETRY .

  • Just can't stop watching this one!! What lyrics, what song, what actors, what direction!

  • You forgot...what voice!

  • yes! voice too!

  • Villians of the 50's were so classy. Rehman was a fine example; ex-IAF pilot what more.

  • speechless! no words to appriciate this song.

  • Excellent lyrics... & no-one cud hav sung it better than Mohammed Rafi.

  • Gurudutt is awesome. One of the greatest actors the world has ever seen..my all time favourite

  • i copletely concur to your perception....realisation is better than chasing a fallacy ....you are right he is a winner who lost all to gain the greatest of all treasures

  • Lyrics: Sahir Ludhiyanvi.

  • it is very real stic video i like most .

  • im gonna sound totally dense now, and i know this song is sad n stuff but what was the film about? can anyone explain to me? i remember leaving the room when my parents were watching this cuz it was making me cry when i was like....5..

  • this movie is about this film director who falls in love with his actress on top of his prime but as his movies flop, she leaves him ...He tries to publish his peoms but fails..then a prostitute takes his diary of peoms...he is super depressed one day as he is walking home..he gives his coat a homeless guy who dies in a train accident..everyone things he is dead and decide to host a function to honour him..same people who hated and mocked him...and this song happens when he walks in the function

  • actually u just mixed two movies together.

First part is close to Kagaj ke phool.

In this movie he has nothign to with film. He is a struggling writer from a very poor family where he is always insulted for nt doing nething and the female he loves leaves him to marry a person who is settled and he gets a job as a servant in his place itself and he is an amazing poet bt as the world is if u r nt in power it doesnt matter if u r right the movie was about that and the later half is amazing

  • wheeda rehman had affair with guru dutt?

    any one know?

    she is so beautiful....gosh

  • i love this.

  • Have you seen the movie. I love tragedies, but no other movie has single handedly touched me so deeply as Piyasa. An excellent masterpiece.

  • hmmm I somehow dunn find this a tragedy.I think he is the most happiest person who realized the worht of this world and chose to renounce it before it was to late. :)

  • realization of truth is not synonymous with happiness.

How could he be happy with his broken heart...lost love...passion forgotten...misused by thee world??? and all of the top him being in solitude?

Have you ever been lonely? It is in no way a happy state of mind.

  • true sorrow is alwayz better than fake happiness..

  • so true...

  • An excellant song sung by Rafi on an excellant composition rendered by S D Barman based on the most touching and soul searching song written by the Great Sahir and beautifully picturised on and by the philosopher of Indian cinema Guru Dutt.GOD bless his soul.

  • the villain looks just like Lopez(Robert Loggia) from Scarface.

  • inqlaab zinda baad

  • i am crying.....for sahir's words and their relevance on the society.......and for guru dutt's understanding of the entire affair

  • sahir excelled himself..and so did rafi sahab and sdburman......but guru dutt;well his moods were the crowning glory of this song.....of course, rehman was interrogative, but then so were mala sinha and waheeda....but again, the story moves in a full circle, what would this song have been without guru dutt.

  • guru dutt was not just a legend in movies but a philosopher & a great mind.. depression goes hand in hand with such sensitive & evolved souls.. wow to be born a person with such intensity in giving and feeling.. even if for a short while. my salut to him.

  • Can you imagine Dilip Kumar refusing the movie ! Yes he did. And while coming from the premiere, he had heaved a sigh of relief that he didnot act, as he found the film not upto the mark, little realising that it was soon to be counted amoung Hindi film classics. About the song, well what can one say. It is juft outstanding, with S. D. Burman, Sahir, Mohd. Rafi, Guru Dutt, each one of them excelling.

    Chiranjib Parial

  • guru dutt was a legend of indian cinema, his early death was a big loss of indian cinema. he was all time great.

  • Matchless song; matchless words by Sahir; matchless social relevance; who can produce a song of this stature!!!

  • This song embodies the detactment saahir ludhiyanvi felt with the world as he left his dad and his home to come to India...

  • Thank you.

  • Just in case anyone has not seen this movie, Do yourself a favor and watch it. No, You will not find story as today's movie but worth every second to watch.

  • Beautiful lyrics! One of the finest of India yet at his another top performance! Thank You.

  • man this is some song he was some guy !

  • Can you imagine Dilip Kumar refusing the movie ! Yes he did.
