For the Bloody Palace, it takes up some time running up to the blitz, so I found that a fully charged Overdrive will also take down the shield- begin charging as soon as you see the blitz, and you should be ready to release it just about when he starts moving.

Straight/RR takes the shield down immedeately...

It's something I found out about 4 days after making this tutorial. A fully charged straight can takes down the shield immediately.
About the RR, I m just not good at it. :(
