  • "We are a male only facility".. So where do they lock up female offenders on the boat?

    Please advise... over,

    Confused :-(

  • my dad was CPO, 20 years in the Navy, and i know a bunch of Marines that have got in trouble, and you kinda have to try to end up in the brig, its usually a pretty big violation you have done if you are in the brig

  • HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU BEEN ATTACKED BY INMATES?

  • HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ATTACKED BY INMATES?

  • In the NAVY, if you get in trouble for whatever you do to make them upset, Will they lock you up in the brig? and for how long? and do they only give you water and bread? That sucks!

I also heard rumors that if you are starting to fight they will beat the crap out of you, shit! Getting your ass kicked must be the worse thing ever on a ship.

  • @VTwinty

You have to do a lot more than piss someone off to get into the brig. Normally it take a major violation of the UCMJ(Uniform Code of Military Justice) then it's up to the Commanding Officer to determine if the offense was bad enough to deserve to be locked up. Most of the time the punishment handed out is being restricted to the ship(or shore base) for 30-45 days and loss of half your pay for a couple of months.

  • Dont disrespect the navy! Unless you've lived the life of the navy than dont talk shit! these people are out there defending our country and people talking shit is NOT cool at all!

  • What happens if the ship is at war or if it is sinking. Do they leave you down their to die at 2000 feet under the sea at a horrible death. Screw the navy they would do that.

  • No! in that case they would be brought to Life rafts.

  • wow.... "the brig" is a joke, you try being on restriction in a seabee unit.all you do in a seabee unit is work all day and then go on watch, then after that you go to sleep... this boat gets actual beds!?

  • "choose ur rate choose ur fate"

  • @zososldier they are not suppose to make you work your on restriction unless you got emi then its diffrent or else they are breaking the ucmj... learn then type... know your rites as a sailor your not a dog your another human beign

  • Jack Adams on Youtube! That's hilarious

  • Times have changed, spent 10 days in the brig for 1/8 of a gram of pot 10/72 aboard the America the Marines were in control and were shits. We would volunteer for working parties to get out of the hole as we called it. We got one shower per day that all 12 of us had to complete in 5 min and 4 cigarettes a day we polished chrome and entertained Marines all day, brig was above boiler room, hot as hell w/no air off the coast of Vietnam built character for sure hated grunts and authority after that

  • now that's an experience. I worked for MAC Adams on the nimitz it was an absolute Joke!

  • They should have kicked your sorry as out of the Navy says this CPO with 22 years (1951-73) of honorable service.

  • scarry.

  • I was A Marine Brig Turnkey aboard the USS Kearsarge CVS 33 during 1967-1968 when Marines ran the brigs, we ran what they called a red line brig and it was a place you did not want to go!!! Yes bread and water was on the menu for the biggest screw-ups. This brig on the Nimitz does look like a palace compared to what was on the Kearsarge---pulled 18 months of duty down there.

  • I was on the U.S.S. Nashville (LPD-13) and our brig was used for storage only. No joke. They never sent people down there.

  • That Nimitz brig is a palace compared to America's brig. I think we had 5 single occupancy cells. It was basically a small passageway two decks below the afterbrow.

  • On the America, I had 2 guys in my division that did brig time. We had a guy who deserted and never came back. Someone in my division started a rumor that he was back and was in the brig. After another incident in my division, our DO gave us a tail chewing. He mentioned this rumor and how furious he was at it being started just for laughs. This guy left once, came back and left again for good. That's why our DO was angry. It was his second departure that set him off.

  • what is that song called that starts like "its a long way to paradise" or somethning like that

  • That brig is beyond depressing! Then again, out there in the ocean, where are you gonna escape to?

  • Bread and water???

  • Yes, the UCMJ provides that particular punishment. But it's only for three days. It's most likely better than the food on the mess decks.

  • Not so bad ha? Well on my ship the Marines were in charge of brig, so as a sailor you did not want to go there, they would make your life hell.

  • he down rating the brig, its worst then that

  • love pbs!
