  • THIS VIDEO PLUS ALL THE OTHER VIDEOS ABOUT BREEDING GUINEA PIGS ARE HORRIBLE! 20% OF ALL FEMALE GUINEA PIGS DIE FROM GIVING BIRTH (THAT'S 1/5 PIGS). FIRST OFF WITH BREEDING, THAT'S TWICE/TRIPLE THE FOOD BILL. SECOND OFF THAT'S TWICE/TRIPLE THE VET COSTS. AND LASTLY ARE YOU PREPARED TO FIND EVERY BABY CAVY A FOREVER HOME? IMAGINE TRYING TO FIND 8 BABIES A HOME (THEY CAN HAVE UP TO THAT MUCH). FOR EVERY GP YOU BRING INTO THIS WORLD, ONE MORE GP WILL BE KILLED IN THE SHELTERS.

    SHAME TO ALL BREEDERS

  • this was not helpful AT ALL

  • just let them be wild again!!!!!! let them live the dream

  • @schnuffelfan4ever yes it is better I would never adopt one in my life

  • exotic mammals - guinea pigs? yh right. They've been in captivity so long they're not exotic at all. ¬¬

Rescues not always a good opition tho- u have no idea of the guinea pigs background history - such as genetic problems - that could be passed from parients to offspring.

A reliable breeder can tell you the history of the pigs breeding and will happily give advice when needed.

  • If you breed 2 different breeds they become deformed STOP BREEDING get them at rescues!Find a life breeders all you are doing is making more guni pigs going to pet stores in a foot long cage that isn't big!

  • buy a guinea pig from a pet store or a breeder you wont regret it

  • awwww.that is 1 cute piggie.

  • THE ANSWER IS TO EAT THEM. No seriously, I am starting a sustainable operation for meat. Turns out they are JUST like a suckling pig and I mean nearly exact. Like a little suckling pig, or barbecue pork.

  • heres how you do it, leave them alone and let them do their buisness!!!

  • what a very nice tits.. do u have camfrog?

  • that pig looks yummy. rotisserie style with sweet baby rays mmmmmm

  • @hatchet125 SICK PERSOON!

  • @hatchet125 please say sorry or/and beg for mercy...I usually don't like to hurt things, but I don't think u understand that about 500,000,000 people feel the way i do and how much we want to hunt you down

  • Did you know that over 100,000 guinea pigs can't find homes and must be put to sleep every year? If you're going to breed, please be sure you have good homes picked out (with responsible, experienced guinea pig owners) before hand. Spread the word ... we don't want to encourage guinea pigs to breed like bunnies 'cause it's just too sad :-( (And did you know, over a million bunny rabbits are put to sleep each year too?)
  • @George665511 i breed them for snake food

  • @COBRA2K12 i breed mine cause they can harvest me corn

  • @COBRA2K12 im disgusted in your actions

  • @TheGuineapighelp3 CHEERS!

  • @TheGuineapighelp3 It sounds bad sure but thats the only way you can feed a pet snake by feeding it rodents.

  • @George665511 did you know thats not my problem

  • @HamHamHamstery im just telling that to people who like to breed but cant take care of them. what do would you do if your hamsters breed?

  • @George665511 they do breed I breed them and I sell them

  • @George665511

Then I will keep all those poor piggies!!! I already have one and it poops a lot but I don't care!!!

  • @Dana102705

i have two......... just imagine all the crap!

  • what did you make your intro on?

  • DONT BREED EFFING GUINEA PIGS THESE PEOPLE ARE STUPID. IT WILL KILL YOUR GUINEA PIG ITS NOT GOOD FOR THEM!

  • @MaddysCavys At least you get more guniea pigs and theres only a 25% they will die. or is it 5...

  • @TheMiniGameShow NO! There is a 20% chance EVERY time, So if you do it 2 time there is a 40% chance, YOU are OBVIOUSLY irrisponsible! SHUT UP & stop mis-treating your animals!

  • Fuck all that. I just put them in a pen and let them bang. I'm not calling a Vet to let them know. All these stupid ass Raterries out there "following guidelines". It is what it is people. I breed multiple fems at a time so if one happens to die giving birth, they have foster moms already, usually with their own litters, already and will gladly accept another set of babies.

  • @APT420 You should be reported for animal abuse.

  • @WebkinzGal256 Funny cause everything I typed was a lie. I don't even like rats so there's no way I'd even think of breeding them. hahaha

  • @APT420 yup. ha. ha. ha. so funny to joke about ANIMAL ABUSE. you are soo funny. become a comedian.

  • i plan to breed my guinea pigs and keep the babies i lost a very old friend called flash and my one and only reget was that she did not have any children. Now tell me is that wrong?

Ps:- i love and look after my guinea pigs

  • @hollyscarper It's only "right" if you like playing Russian roulette with your guinea pig's life.

  • It is also worth noting that any female bred has a 1 in 5 chance of dying as a direct result of pregnancy, birthing complications, or toxemia after birth. Even if a guinea pig is bred successfully once, does not mean they won't die on the next litter. Neutering is also not something to take lightly as anesthetic is a lot harder on guinea pigs than dogs and cats, so it is best to do pairs with compatible guinea pigs of the same gender.

  • it kind of bugs me how everyone says you need to get your get your guineapig from a rescue center, not that im against it or anything i think its great, but what, are we supposed to let the guinea pigs in pet stores just sit there forever? It basicly is rescue because my local pet stores keep small animals in small glass cage-things. (my opinion)

  • @MyGuineaPigChico : I know that sounds horrible but that´s exactly what we have to do! As long as people buy piggys in a pet store they will breed more to earn more money! But if no one buys a piggy there they have no reason to breed! Besides the most of these breeders don´t care about genetics and that´s why a lot of these piggys die very young! I have made my own experience with that! :´(

  • @MyGuineaPigChico Unfortunately by purchasing the pet store guinea pigs, one contributes to their suffering. One or two more will just take the place of the one that was purchased, it's a vicious cycle. The fewer people who purchase them the more they'll realize they can't make a profit by selling back yard bred animals.

  • pubblicita' antipatica...

  • my idea to pay off my geuinea pigs buy one male one female and have 1 liter then sell the litter to the petshop

  • Omg, I have a piggy eactly like that one. He's a male. Will nuetering and spaying a piggy hurt them? I mean they have tiny privates. Guina pigs are exotic animals?

  • @fantasticanime2010 Yes guinea pigs are considered exotics, and regular dog and cat veterinarians are usually not qualified to treat them. Surgery can be rough on them, so you should only have it done or have them put under anesthetic when absolutely necessary. You would need a vet who is very experienced with guinea pig neuters, at least 30 surgeries and all should have been successful if the guinea pig didn't have underlying health issues.

  • @CMTurducken goin to the vet is soo fucking expensive!!! once my budjee got sick and we called the vet and they sed it will cost OVER $100!!!!!!! then i was like fuck that shit u could buy 2 brand new budjees for that price so i just got a new one.

  • @jetmea Huh, sure smells a lot like Troll here lately.

  • I bought a female guinea p and today i saw my male mating her! OMG! NOOO!!

  • can i have one guinea pig???if u dont mind

  • @AnimalAdventures10 You are WRONG. The perosn is the vid is correct. Shut your bloody mouth; you don't know your ass from your elbow.

  • @Lagolop are you from England?

  • @Lagolop Okay I was just wondering because you used "bloody" and that's a common word over there. (:

  • @bubblebath934 LOL, I'm Canadian. That term is often used here in the same way the Brits would use it. My family has lived in Canada since the 1800s, so no, I'm not British.

  • ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

  • @TheSooty8 cool

  • @madknightjr DUDE!!!!! i WAS THINK THE SAME THING!!!!! High-five :D

  • i hadnt finished the video yet,but i dont know how to mate them,i put 2 female guinea pigs in my 1 male guine pig cage for 2 days and nothing happend, and how do i know if she is pregnant my guine pigs are fat

  • when u breed a guinea pig

u just put a girl and a boy guinea pig in the same cage for 3 nights and then seperate them and im sure he did his job

    just sayin

  • Yeah same as mine did u're right

  • um few questions:

    1) How can i tell if shes pregnant? her stomache has gotten a bit bigger but is there any other signs such as behaviour or moods?

    2) If she does have male guinea pigs, will the son fight with the father, ive heard that males tend to fight. if i have the father and son both neautered will they stop fighting?

    3) If she has a female, will the father try to mate with the daughter...inbreeding?

  • I think beef taste good and my friend cant have beef cause its her gods pet.

  • cute! i just got 2 (both boys) one is named Rueben and the other is named Justin!

  • people buy fancy hidey boxes but you can just cut a hole in an ice cream container

  • you're an idiot. Guinea pigs can be either one or the other. Depending on the PERSON who wants a pet guinea pig they want a guinea pig for a pet. Not many people in the US eat guinea pigs. So please. stfu. :] oh and if thats the case. Cats aren't pets eithers. Because people eat cats aswell and dogs and whatever else animal there is aswell :]

  • you suck! You think everything is to be eaten! don't watch guinea pig videos if your going to say you have to eat them!!!

  • bogis u give guinea pigs hamster balls nd wheels there not allowed nd its sly nutering any animal who cares if she have mini pigs or mini dogs its life if ya get a girl nd a boy its kinds obv nd if ya dnt want to have babies then buy both of the sme sex lol is tha sooo hard

  • 6 X 7 = 42!! omg THATS AMAZING !

  • Wow! You Suck at spelling. If your trying to make a joke, Or not You should spell it right o_o

  • oh then my guinea pig is too old to expeiriance sex poor girl

  • YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhahaahhahhahahahaha

  • my guinea pig was only four when he died i want 2 know if thats normal because he was the runt of the litter & i think thats why he died so young

  • my gueanea pig has been hick uping and coughing just starting today plz tell me what is wrong with it

  • Take it to a vet.

It sounds like a respiratory problem which can be fatal.

  • thx im only 11 i am worried

  • dont be worried, if taken to a vet all should be well.

What kind of bedding/cage are you using?

  • ~ Don't breed or buy while shelter animals die ~

  • stop posting these things in comment sections. they're crap, they dont work, and you're annoying everyone.

  • you can get suspended if you copy them !!!

  • I couldn't help but notice that the speaker has some huge knockers. I'm watching the video thinking : "Cool, guinea pigs! Lets watch this one!" and then I couldn't concentrate at all on what she was saying. I'm just like "Wow, those are some sweet chi-chis!"

  • only reason i clicked on this video was because i saw some large breasts...

  • I haverecently bought a guiney pig and a friend of mine told me it is a girl and that she is either overweight or pregnant. The Pet store owner told me that she is six months old (Yes i Bought an adult one)...does this mean she is going to die?Oh boy!!I hope it is just a chuby one.

  • Im getting guinea pigs soon and i really want to get them from a shelter, but whenever i look on the website of my local animal shelter there are never any there. Ones from pet stores come from animal mills, so if i cant get them from a shelter i wont get them at all.

  • Have you searched for piggies on petfinder? The sow I adopted was from a farm/animal refuge, so you could check those, too.

You're doing a great thing! I have four piggies atm & they have such personalities. (:

  • Thankyou, i dont get why people were giving my comment a thumbsdown ...

    :(

  • @Rosii93 dont buy from a shelter get from a store or a breeder way better

  • how long r guineas pregnant for and can dad stay in the cage too? will he harm the babies? hes a very gentle little man...

  • Guinea Pigs are pregnant for 2.5 months. You do not want to keep the dad in the cage. The sow (female) can actually be pregnant with two litters at once! (very bad, she will probably die) You want to remove all males. Also, once the littler becomes 3 to four weeks old you will need to remove all males, as they can impregnate the mother and sisters.

  • yeah, also after the sow gives birth she goes into heat straight after so its best to remove the boar (however gentle he may be haha) as the poor piggy will be pregnant while trying to look after her piglets.

  • Please do not breed. Guinea pigs are having to be put to sleep in shelters, please don't bring more into the world just to be dumped. If you think you know everything about breeding, you're probably wrong if you're one of those people that just want to breed their pet GP's. There is a 20% risk of death for the sow. There's also the enormous risk of producing lethal GP's caused by a roan gene. Lethal GP's are deaf, blind, have malformed teeth, and neurological problems.

  • And why breed guinea pigs??!

There are so many waiting desperate to find a new home and someone who cares about them!

I love guinea pig babies but we have chosen not to breed and instead get new pigs from the pound or the animal rescue!

We got the last one in November and the poor little piggy was so afraid! I don´t want to know what she has gone through! But she is getting better every day!

You can now give me a bad rating, I don´t care! But please think about what I´ve said!

  • I adopt a guinea pig from a shelter 2 and a half months ago, when i went to the vet yesterday i just found out that she's pregnant and she's a one year old guinea pig!!! I'm so terrified and the vet said she has to go through c-section!!! I was shocked by then, i didnt know that a guinea pig can go through c-section.

  • shelters want more $ for them then a good pet store,

im getting two females. but not from a shelter

  • Most shelters charge that amount for the piggies so the know that their going to have a good home and not go to some backyard breeder or animal mills where dont get cleaned out, payed attention to them or shown any love. With petshops the guinea pigs are most likely to have come from places like that :(

and sometimes the guinea's turn out to be pregnant when you get them home ect ect.. The best thing to do is get a piggie that needs a loving home and the best place for that would be a shelter

  • @mbcanadaguy Huh. That's funny since the shelters nearest me that have guinea pigs charge LESS THAN HALF the price of ALL of the pet stores in the same area and locally, and even the rescues around there which invest a lot of money into their care charge less. And most of those places, unlike pet stores came with FREE veterinary exams at the vet of the adopter's choice.

  • @Tigerkatzitatzi Yes I agree SO MUCH with you. BUT breeding has benefits. It gives the babies a chance to live a GOOD life instead. Bringing life into this world is rewarding anyways.

  • @punkgirl134679: Sure, the babies will have a wonderful life from the moment they are born until they die. But what about the grown up piggies who will never have a chance to live such a life? Shouldn´t we take care of them first before we breed more piggies? I think we can start to breed just for fun only when every guinea pig has a chance for a good home with people who know how to take care of them! I mean, only because a piggy has a home it doesn´t mean that the "owners" know what they need!

  • breed them and eat them

  • @imran3277: Kill yourself and everyone is happy! -.-

  • @imran3277 i would like yourself to stay in the exact spot where you r now & let me gather up my gang, get my machine gun and hunt you down

  • @Reliby hahaha lol

  • @imran3277 THAT IS HORRIBLE!

  • Comment removed

  • wow, I had a guinea pig that gave birth to over 24 babies in 4 years. I did not know about the 7 month rule. I guess they never had time to fuse! She lived to be 6 years old. thanks for posting.

    MM

  • @attapattapie

You were incredibly lucky. 1 in 5 sows that are bred die as a direct result of complications during pregnancy, birth, or toxemia after birth.

  • @CMTurducken I think that because the breeders arent careful. Like the pig bred at 2 months old is two small or at 7 month is too big. Also the pig cannot be sick or injured and should have good nutition

  • You are too quiet! I cn't haer you!

  • That helped me a lot as I'm interested in breeding from one of my males, I know another very important question to ask if/when I find the right person wanting to breed from their female.

  • DON'T BREED WHILE ANIMALS DIE!

  • it sucks we have to wait for it to load for information everyone already knows

  • Guinea pigs are cute and can be used as pets, but originaly they were domesticated to be eaten. Just think of a cheetah eating a cute newborn fawn, its a way of life. As long as they are killed with respect there is no problem with it.

  • well i like them alive

  • Wow I can't believe how ignorant some comments are. This is a information video! Have some respect!

  • That guinea was on the point of full-blown panic during the entire video

  • thanxs expert village!

  • look breeding aint hard, give em time, thell fuck silly, few weeks later u got 5 babies running around completly unexpected, i still remeber hahaha it was fun. take dad pig out tho he eats babies.

  • i'm a veg and i think it's wrong to eat meat, but what's the difference between eating a guinea pig and a cow? "guinea pigs are cuter" is not a good answer. as long as they are killed with respect and kept free-range, then it isn't cruel, it's way of life.

  • Go0d point ;) animals shouldnt be eaten its just like eating a human....yuk!

  • in peru they call them cooye(coo-yay)

  • The pelvic bones fuse at a year, 4 months is way too early

  • They are more nutricious than pork , more protein ,etc . It was the meat source of the Inca Empire and is yet of millions in the andean region in south america were is originated this animal.

  • you asshole

guinea pigs are pets not food

  • im sorry. very very very sorry to say they did.

  • he isnt kidding they do eat them ...my pastor went to south america somewhere and they where honoring him by having a guinea pig feast ....and he had to eat it haha

  • yep! visit my country too and you'll see how delicious guinea pigs are:) we kill them humanely and with respect.

  • i wanna kill inka

  • grow up! i just had some guinea pig and potatoes:) hmmmm!

  • i call my guonea pigs G Piggas

  • I bread mine because we live on a farm and kept them all.

We came home and they were at it.

  • i have two guinea pigs but i dont know if there a boy or a irl i think one of them is already pregnant so i dont know

  • This is good advice. I bred guinea pigs when I was a little girl. I lost my first sow (and all the babies) to a difficult birth. When I did breed successfully, however, I kept the babies.

  • boaring

  • that guinea pig is not over weight its just that these type of animals have many layers of fur and this was probly filmed in the winter when they have all of their fur.. !!

  • useless video, no helpful info

  • i agree that guinea pigs can suffer from breeding, but it is a way of life. Your parents had *** too, and you came out. But if no one bred guinea pigs, and there weren't any guinea pigs in the wild, guinea pigs would go extinct

  • Guinea pigs are NO WHERE NEAR extinction, that is RIDICULOUS, terribly ignorant arguement. If that were the case, shelters across the country alone would not exist, and there would not be thousands without homes.

  • HOLY @%#$ look at how many video's these people have!

  • I am not really an expert, but I can agree that the guinea pig shown in this video is overweight. They shouldn't be that plump, just have a thick build over their body. That is deffinatly an overweight guinea pig.

  • my friend breeds guinea pigs and rats and parakeets and feed them all to his pet snake :(

  • ye my uncle does that its really sad but thats the wasy of life

  • parakeets?he feeds parakeets to his pet snake!!wow, man thats sad..

  • ya he did that at first but those birds are getting more inbred and stuff...so he's like feeding eggs now instead. he's a heartless moron...i just know him ..not like a friend exactly.

  • oh, what a jerk!

  • no offense, but i want to feed your friend to the snake and watch him die. how can he DO that?!

  • i had no idea one of my guinea pigs was pregnant, she had 2 piggies, they are so small and cute...i think my guinea pig is 1 yrs old now...she had a save delivey...so now i got 4 pigs,

  • what?....my female guinea pig has been breeding for like 3 years now and just about everyone has survived wats with this 3-7 months thing?

  • My female is 5 YEARS OLD. and she JUST had a litter of 5!!! no problamo. lol, my males HORNY!!!

  • What she ment was if they don't bread by the time they are 7 mths old their bones will fuse. If they already have a litter by then, then they can keep breading over and over.

  • wat bedding besideswdr pine can they use

  • i might think of getting a guinea pig b/c i have a budgie {its a type of bird} and im scared if it bites!

  • good info, especially for potential breeders...between 4 and 7 months of age. very informative.

  • i have 5 piggies, 1 moma 1 daddy and 3 babes ( milkyway, licorice:babies: taffy, toffe tootsie) pelvic bones dont fuse! mine was 2 yrs old when she deliverd!

  • i just got 2 guinea pigs and i have no idea how to take care of them..

  • why did you get them if you cant look after them
