Thank You for the vid!
I feel like in these last times, John have lost some speedness.....maybe the advantaged age? The speedness has ever been the central point of John's guitar playing.
This hurts, watching these two and the rest of the original MO is alive, well and doing -- NOTHING. Come on guys RTF is working on their third reunion we want just one from you guys (with a DVD of course). Everybody say I'm sorry and let's get the tour started this summer, ok.
@dwill123 absobloodylutely......this is getting rediculous now....just one re-union.....i swear if any o those guys buy the farm before we get that re-union it will be a sad loss for the entire universe....i think we should find mr mclaughlin and have a chat with him.....im willing to beg!!!...(but plz dont make me)....
That's a ridiculously good clip. Literally causes me pain to see these two together and not to see a MO revival - IMO, JM's playing here is far more evolved and precise than he ever was in the old MO. Imagine what it would be like today.
Found this to be more fun than the whole `Mc Laughlin complete live at Montreux`. This is what music should be about! Thought Billy had taken it easy a bit more. I am glad that he still has his chops when he needs to! Thanks so much for posting.
obviously these are two highly skilled musicians.....maybe i don't "hear" jazz that well, but to me this is a cacaphony of two solos and has no real musical value....
Well, it's about time they played again... isn't it? Let's hope, finally, for a reformed Mahavishnu Orchestra tour the next few years. In the meantime, there's avs002.
ah! He gave his white Strat to Jeff Beck in the 70's. Nice seeing B. Cobham with him again. He's always got a good groove.

JM was asked on the spot to play with his old friend Billy, he did not even have his own guitar its why he plays a strat ;-)

;Let's just ask the obvious: where could you find two women in their mid-60s
doing ANYTHING comparable to what this drummer and guitarist are doing; ripping it up like thiis? So much for "Girls Rock! Girls Rule!"
and "Girls KIck Ass!"

John Mclaughlin with a Strat ..how bizarre

Boum-boum, Dzoing-dzoing, Tagada...Musique sans aucun intérêt, sauf, comme l'a dit quelqu'un, de voir Mc Loughlin avec une Stratocaster.
Allez, John, rejoue-nous "Extrapolation"...
