A kick in the nuts would have been justified from the kid to the net guy. I would have been mad if I was the kid too. And like goat cheese said I have miss netted a fish too!....once.
Man ive done that once, and i havent ever heard the end of it. My dad still insist on bringing up that "incident", in a joking way. I'd tried to net a nice chinook from the bank , the fish was still hot and pulled a last instant maneuver and one of my dads leaders got entangled in the net . The chinook broke off and that was that. But from what i could remember we caught about 3 more fish after that. The good ol days

wearing Washington State gear on a fishing trip is about as bad a bringing bananas!
if the guy with the rod would of lowered the rod at the same time he went to net the fish the out come might of been different
