@isleofyew1 Some models are made in Germany, the V-Lux 20 is made by Panasonic :). Look at the TZ10/ZS7 (then look at the V-Lux 20 again), Panasonic provides the electronics for Leica but Leica develops the Lenses for Panasonic.
Any chance you could take some video with that camera? Specifically video of some action - like a mountain biker riding by in the woods would be ideal... And does it zoom when videoing? Thanks.
The people who make Leica do not eat whale like most other camera makers or makers of parts.

I'll do some video as soon as I have another SD card for storage. I will check the zoom too.
