you know that laser is dangors. even thouh you cant see it, it bounses off solid objects and you can acctuly go blind after a while. CLOSE DAT LID!

@thereelmaster The laser is <3mW when staring directly into it. By the time it goes through the disc and starts reflecting, you'd go blind faster staring at a lit match than at the laser.

@DjStiv3 On this mod there is still no way of getting the disc out while spinning. On my playstation I added a toggle switch that disables the disc cover sensor, allowing you to open and close it whenever without the playstation knowing.

what kind of pain did u use? spray? i used spray on mine and its kinda sticky and its dried. like the paints not wet no more. could i use like a protective coat?

use a clear that is in the same "family" as the paint.

latex/acrylic based clear coat if your spray paint is water based.

Oil based is the paint was oil based.

Reason why it may be too sticky is either, you may have put way to much paint on the console, or you lack a clear coat.

I GOT AN IDEA: Attach a separate PS1 disk drive inside the empty space with an official disk pertinently. Buy a switch to go between the 2 lasers. Easy swap trick!

Just open up the PS1, take out all the guts and remember how it all goes together, clean and sand the plastic, paint, dry, reassemble. Go buy a couple junk consoles at a flea market to practice. You can get a ps1 for like $15 so no big deal if you screw one up.

the lid is still on he just put a hole in it however you can place a piece of paper (celotape) on a sensor which allows the disc to work with no lid

Theres a button on the main circuit board with is directly below the spring mechanism. Just push it really hard and it should work!

ya i opend it and the power board is tinny un like the ps2 power board, i dont know wat im doen so i left it....so i cut a hole in the top, a toxic symble, put in plexie glass, since i had it open i melted the button that makes it turn off when u open the top 2 the border around the botton so now when it pops open 4 no reason it wont turn off, did any body mod the ps3, cant do it 2 mine cause my dad bought it:( dosent want me 2 break da warinty; note the frownee above
