  • ..but nobody can sing the blues like Blind Willie Mctell

  • There's no way... Anybody who's ever held an acoustic guitar knows that Dylan takes the cake.. There's no doubt that Townes was epic, but he didn't write Girl From The North Country or Shelter From The Storm. and as Townes said to that Steve Earle "Bob Dylan's body guards would never let me anywhere near his coffee table"

  • What a tune!

  • 'Townes Van Zandt is the best damn songwriter in the country and I'll stand on Bob Dylan's coffee table in my cowboy boots and say that.' Steve Earle Yep. lol

  • Really nice - thanks for putting it up here.

  • Townes songs never fail to touch those of us who are lonely in a crowd.

  • Thanks for putting this up... this is truly one of those good songs that could have been lost without your thoughtful addition

  • best version of this song :)

  • I heard Butch Hancock do this one in Austin in 1981, coming off my carpentry job and knocking back a longneck in the bar of the old Alamo Hotel, and I would not trade that time for anything.... It took two wrecking balls six months to knock that hotel down, but these songs will be here forever.

  • Beautifull version - one of the best. Thanks for posting

  • thanks for this one.
