One question I was wondering about - if a statutory instrument is a legal contract and enacted by legislation or act, e.g. the council tax, who is the statutory instrument contract between? Is it between Parliament and Local Government or between Parliament and People?

@craigbanbury This is only because they've changed the definitions over time to hide the true meanings. Look at earlier editions and you will see a different story.
i did... i checked edition 2... and will check the latest edition which i believe id edition 9 next week when my library reopens lol. but no honestly mate... they dont just totally change definitions in law dictionarys, or swap the definitions of 2 different words... of course they dont... otherwise all legal contracts would be rendered useless... because what you sign for today, could mean something totally different the next week. i have looked mate, check it out!
@craigbanbury All I know is there are huge differences in Edition 6 and 7 on certain definitions. There are also huge shifts from early editions of Ballentine's law dictionary. There's definitely some manipulation going on.

@craigbanbury Yes, I've actually checked, but it's been a long time since I was really researching this stuff. I think you're missing the point. They're not changing the definitions to make people criminals. They've done that in the code. Virtually everyone is a felon because of all the laws in the books. What they've done in the legal dictionaries is blur the lines between lawful/legal, de jure/de facto, etc., so that people are less likely to question the state of things.

@craigbanbury Mistakes are certainly possible - I haven't researched Harris' work very thoroughly. But Winston Shrout's info comes to basically the same conclusion, and I have researched his work - and it is valid. The basic truth is governments or those in power have manipulated the legal system and the economic system to gain more control over people who don't suspect any kind of deception or fraud on their part. They are the enemy, and we all need to keep that in perspective.

@craigbanbury Again, the complexity and confusion in the legal system has been created by governments. They do this to deprive people of rights and control them. John Harris is for human liberty. You shouldn't spend any time at all attacking him. You should focus on the people actively depriving you of rights and threatening to initiate force against you even if you are acting peacefully, honestly and voluntarily - i.e. THE GOVERNMENT.

I watched the video and I'm certain that what Dom is saying to the police is psuedo-law. Black's Law Dictionary applies to the the US. Your name is a fact, not an “assumption” made by the court. “Crown copyright” refers to the form, not the name for God’s sake.

You may as well walk into a Court room and declare "I am Spartacus", for that will grant you the same response. I actually thought this video was a joke when I first started watching it. This guy hasn't got a clue what he's talking about or how to get his point across coherently. The idea of being a 'freeman' is complete fiction. You are still bound by the law of the land, whether it is Parliament made or common law makes no difference at all. Inaction is not taken as consent, it is not an issue of explicit consent as this guy has misinterpreted, your consent is given on your behalf by the Queen.

i did... i checked edition 2... and will check the latest edition which i believe id edition 9 next week when my library reopens lol. but no honestly mate... they dont just totally change definitions in law dictionarys, or swap the definitions of 2 different words... of course they dont... otherwise all legal contracts would be rendered useless... because what you sign for today, could mean something totally different the next week. i have looked mate, check it out!

@craigbanbury All I know is there are huge differences in Edition 6 and 7 on certain definitions. There are also huge shifts from early editions of Ballentine's law dictionary. There's definitely some manipulation going on.

if you change the definitions of words in legal dictionarys then legal contracts of any kind are then rendered useless. by your reasoning; if you sign today for a 12 month mobile phone contract, then by next week it could be a 12 month contract for renting your ass. know what i mean?

@craigbanbury Yes, I've actually checked, but it's been a long time since I was really researching this stuff. I think you're missing the point. They're not changing the definitions to make people criminals. They've done that in the code. Virtually everyone is a felon because of all the laws in the books. What they've done in the legal dictionaries is blur the lines between lawful/legal, de jure/de facto, etc., so that people are less likely to question the state of things.

@craigbanbury Mistakes are certainly possible - I haven't researched Harris' work very thoroughly. But Winston Shrout's info comes to basically the same conclusion, and I have researched his work - and it is valid. The basic truth is governments or those in power have manipulated the legal system and the economic system to gain more control over people who don't suspect any kind of deception or fraud on their part. They are the enemy, and we all need to keep that in perspective.

@craigbanbury Again, the complexity and confusion in the legal system has been created by governments. They do this to deprive people of rights and control them. John Harris is for human liberty. You shouldn't spend any time at all attacking him. You should focus on the people actively depriving you of rights and threatening to initiate force against you even if you are acting peacefully, honestly and voluntarily - i.e. THE GOVERNMENT.
