Singers do that if they are having trouble staying on pitch. its a great technique used a lot in Broadway and in Pop music today. It also gives the ending a little more improve for the performer.
@lizziemagic that last note is normally meant to be one solid note but she broke it into about three, I think she lost her breath, but it proves how she can still make it amazing even under pressure :P

She is absolutely amazing! the ease of her belting and power and the clarity of her pitch is just flawless and damn near unmatched absolutely one of the best vocally without a doubt. her performance acting wise may have been a little flat but her vocals make up for it! i feel like she ran out of air at the end however. her little riff she did sounded more like a waver in her voice almost in an attempt to catch her breath while singing and when it didn't work she just re-sang the word at the end

You can never say that it is or isn't true, because it's an opinion question. Her DG is flat. Not the vocals, but the acting of it. Not every Elphaba they cast is amazing. They are all great, but not everyone is amazing. There are plenty of Elphies out there that are better than Kerry, that's all I'm saying.
I watch them to try and see some good things about her. And there are. She makes a few good character choices. I like her "Look to the Western Sky". I just don't like a lot of stuff about her.

I think she has been bored with the role for some time, and that comes out in her perf. When she really wants to put on a good perf she does. The role is too demanding for anyone to do 8X a week, months on end. The producers are burning through elphas. Not enough time off for the voice to rest or for a personal life. Y do u think Idina won't come back.

it sounded like she just got really into the rock version that she did for the other two songs and did a bit(rock) at the end for this one. it's a compliment not an insult. i like it

Personally I think Kerry Ellis is amazing, and for that reason I don't want to go see Wicked when Alexia is in it and she isn't.
But that doesn't mean Alexia is bad, not in the slightest. Any actress who is fortunate enough to land the role of Elphaba is phenomenally talented. I just prefer Kerry.

can i just say alexia's acting is amazingggg her acting is far beyond kerrys standards seriously ...singing wiseee..i think alexias voice is tooo immature and she growls wayyyyyyy tooo mcuh ....but kerry wins on singing...ohh but alexias version of as long as your mine is better den kerrys...but still kerry is amazing!!

same kerry is just amazing but i don't go out of my way to tell others if i don't like an elphaba-it's just my personal opinion. to be honest i think that most of them are incredible!

Personally I think Kerry Ellis is amazing, and for that reason I don't want to go see Wicked when Alexia is in it and she isn't.
But that doesn't mean Alexia is bad, not in the slightest. Any actress who is fortunate enough to land the role of Elphaba is phenomenally talented. I just prefer Kerry.

The reason i dont lkike kerry is because her facial reactions sometimes are like what ever i want to go home not the right expressions for this part.
2)Also some of her fans drive me insane not you but the ppl who go on to a video of say lisa brescia and say stuff like she sucks kerry is so much better
3) Dianne Annoys the living crap out of em and that affect my opinion of kerry

Agreed but like the 10-18-08 (18.10.08) video she looks dead along with her newest video 6-17-08 (17.6.08) on broadway and not on Kerry exclusivly but on why acting skills are more important than looking good and singing (i mentioned of actresses Dianne among them)

I actually really like Shoshanna. Her voice is beautiful. I just think Kerry has an unbelievable voice. I wouldn't even say one is better than the other, they are just different. I just really, really love Kerry.

her voice just does nothing for me. i have listened to a lot of her stuff because i want to like her, but for some reason i just don't. i don't have anything against her, but her voice just isn't my cup of tea.

um...maybe i'm just stupid but what was different? lol i heard the "yeah" at the end but she had a cold right? she probably ran out of breath on the last note and started another one. lol don't get my hopes up i thought there were gonna be different lyrics! oh well i love you anyway lol. but check out the idina menzel version with the different lyrics it's kinda funky. they fit in a minor-key version of "unlimited" into NGD and i thought it was cool!
