  • The universe does work in mysterious ways. Glitter got caught originally when he took his computer in for repair. The technician found the incriminating evidence on his hard drive. At that time however I don't think he'd actually physically molested anyone. He was just spankin' his monkey to it. But of course just having that stuff in your possession is not right either and that's why he was convicted. But rather than seek treatment, he went Viet Nam and that's where he followed through. Sad.

  • Funny how people will erase someones entire lifes work for something that happened later on.

  • Pardubice... Goooool

  • God.....why did he have to be sexually attracted to children? This song is incredible, but most people will deny that solely based on his personal life. Damn shame.

  • i saw his xmas gang show in 1987, fucking awesome...does this make me a pervert????

  • no eyes O_O

  • my father saw him in Swden 1972 and still has his autograph !!!

  • His music was great! The "Glitter Band' made him too.Saw him in concert in Australia, I idolised him and the band, so hate Gary himself now ...... Pity he is a pedophile......

  • He was some hornyyyyy singer...

  • Sure, he has some problems, but that doesn't change the music.

  • Precursor to Pere Ubu and David Thomas, and when did anyone think of Gary as anything other than a deviant? Apply the theory of Linkage to any music and you end up confused as to your appreciation of the music. In this case maybe the most influential music of the 1970's. Still nothing quite like it.

  • Part 2, still the best version!

  • i wish he wasnt a pedorast cause i too agree its great music!!!!

  • must admit he was a great performer

  • its a great shame we can no longer see him live

  • I feel like I'm at a football game

  • Great music, shame about GG

  • "Little Queen-ie bopped at the high school hop dancing to the beat With her U.S. Mail and her pony tail well she looked so sweet"

He was into girls younger than high-school aged, but still.... hindsight is 20/20, innit?

  • fuckin rock n roll !! itś great hahaha strange video but the best music in the world

  • GARY RULES

  • @mtimp

    Same here

    What can we say though..........

Didn't know then what we know now

Met him a few years later when I was in the RAF at Bampton

  • awsome song 70s the best ever

  • I love glam rock and I don't care who knows it. :P

    Thanks for posting.

  • God that man is a god right here

  • Check out my version. Sorry for poor sound at start

  • such a fall from grace.

  • Despite what he became, its what he once was that we should remember him by. He was one of the leaders of the glam rock days and made some massive tunes. Plus had a great stage presence.

  • he is the best for music

  • nice wig u creep!!

  • Now we know where gene simmons got the idea of the shoulderpads on his costume! haha and yes there are lyrics to this song pmk , you are thinking of rock' n roll part 2 which was mostly instrumental.

  • It's when he starts thrusting those hips at the end - it makes me feel just a little bit sick.

  • Rock n rolllllll hey! rock n Rolllllll Hey!

  • but where's the silver jumpsuit??

  • greatness comes at a price

  • Goooooooooo Shaaaaarrrrkkkkks!!!!!!!!!

  • Bon Jovi used this in the 90s as their walk on song!

  • This song has lyrics? Wow!!!

  • Супер! Я это слушал в 1975-79 годах!

  • I love this song, USA USA USA !!!

  • Tremendous song.

  • GARY RULES !!

  • Times are changing fast, but we won't forget though the age is passed we'll be rockin yet!!!

  • Brilliant song. A classic!

  • how can people dislike this?

  • @hazzardguy Some people just don't like glam metal in general

  • @baronofcheese Its GLAM ROCK,not METAL

  • just great

  • Keep these clips coming Edward - no one sounds like the Glitter!

  • Yep we all know about his habits. seemingly Michael Jackson had similar and everyone absolutely loves him now he's dead. funny old world. great song though.

  • what does the guitar sound like? never could quite place it.

  • GG is awesome !!

  • I went to see him in concert and grief, what a shock to find out he was into child porn. I hope he is having therapy. Lots of it.

  • Saw GG when I was 16 at the Kings Hall Belle Vue Manchester great memories shame what he became but still love the music

  • Memories!

  • This is where Doctorin' the Tardis came from. The original is better.

  • a pity he is a dirty old bastard cos this music is awesome!

  • @angas10

How true. He could have had a showbiz career for many years, as a true show man, but just look at what happened to him. It was his own fault.

  • @angas10 Why; If I may ask, why do you say he is "a dirty old bastard" ? Something I should know that everybody does and am not aware of ? Did he do some wrong or bad or evil ? Or is it you find his "looks" style of dressing etc as "dirty" ? Really I wonder what it is. And please, I am not being cynical or nothing the kind I am just curious to know I was 13 years old when that came out and I thought it was music oh the devil (but I liked it) even though it was chilling my spine. Thanks

  • Despite this man's personal reputation he did put out a lot of great music. Music people still listen to today and use in movies and play on the radio.

  • Wow I never knew there was lyrics to this song. I always remember the instumental version part 2 of Rock and Roll since the NBA plays this song at the 4th quarter during Timeouts. But the singing version is cool.

  • this song is amazing!

  • I didn't even know this song had any lyrics besides "HEY-- GO [sports mascot]!!!" But this is a badass video. I honestly don't care what Gary did, I can still enjoy his music. He's serving time for his crimes and that's enough for me. If I refused to listen to everyone whose private sexual life I disagreed with, well shit... Good-bye Queen, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Elton John... A lot of the greats really.

  • the outfit!

  • His face reminds me of today's David Hasselhoff.

  • @chelokun LOL it does.

  • Whoa! Didnt he play a bad guy on a Mad Max movie?

  • you know, he seems like he should be a John C. Riley character

  • @djjava303 wait, this is a real preson? all these years i thought that really was just a john c. riley character.

  • Don't care what anybody says but wow what a singer/songwriter and an entertainer he is and don't forget Rock and Roll part 2 just as entertaining

  • DANCEI MUITO NOS ANOS 70,80,90,2000,10 E ATÉ OS DIAS DE HOJE, ABRAÇOS MIL DO PICOLÉ DO GIL FROM RIO DE JANEIRO, BRASIL.

  • a great song and singer, you dont get many dancable songs these days like this one, shame about his downfall, otherwise i am sure he would still would of had a big following it is a pity for himself and his fans.

  • what a good singer and a good band and what people think of him he is still the best

  • The King!

  • GARY GLITTER---"ROCK AND ROLL"

  • great artist great music pity he ballsed up

  • @Topcheesewithease seriously man? thats gary glitter, i meen he does kinda look like david hasselhof but david could never pull this off

  • it's a lot like dewey cox in Walk Hard.

  • what exacly did this guy do

  • @88zooyorker

I think he buggered a kid in the mystical far east.

  • good old mr gadd we love you lol

  • hopefully he has found god and repented

  • @laketitty13

Well, I know I have. But I didn' t do anything involvning kids or something. Or even adults.

    But I was a sinner.

Anyway, Gary Glitter rules. I will always love his music, no matter what he's done.

  • I love EVERYTHING about this man

  • What show was this on?

  • todays music has got me fucked...this is music its raw,its simple ,its great

  • He was set up in vietnam anyway !

  • @Mickey07050 I think so too, a chance for a poor family to make big money.

  • Always liked Part 1 better than Part 2...

  • Oh, so this is Part 1? Why 2 parts anyway?

  • @Feisty1967 Part 2 version is more focused to the sports audinece.

  • Loved Gary and his music when he was a good boy, I don't love him anymore but his rock en roll is still the best regardless of his infamy.

  • @dodgerwhisk

If R Kelly can get away with it why can't Gary?

  • very classy

  • That 70's band!

    E X C E L L E N T

  • Classic record, a great rock song to get people dancing at a 70s disco, it a pity about gary himself, such a great artist for a man who has let himself down as well as his fans.

  • amazing, Gary Glitter was the ultimate glam band.

  • His hair and clothes are weird.

  • @mikew55555 Yeah, same thing when I saw him at Essex Uni in 79. Brilliant gig.

  • @mikew55555 Good for you , the energy that i remember was massive, and back then we dident know about his perversions, so lets enjoy what we remember, and play it loud.
