I agree that the series was mostly about Gabrielle's journey, growing as a woman and finding herself; you have summed that journey up in one epic video... great use of color as well- the whole thing was just astonishing.

I know. This video on the other hand is called Requiem of Innocence, it's a play on the original title. A requiem is like music for mourning someone who has died, in this case it's the music (the requiem) for Gabrielle's innocence.

Hey, brilliant video, never seen this before now but I relly enjoyed it, was a little confused by the black and white and colour clips, were they like that for a reason (which i probably just dont see, not in a very observent mood lol)

Part 1

They were, the coloured clips were for emphasis on the scenes. Granted they are all crucial moments but the coloured clips are ones were I think were like landmarks. I could go on forever about this but i'll keep it short. :)

TGG - Xena's dead. Gabrielle's saying to herself "Xena said to focus" Like she's trying to know what Xena would do so she can do it. Stepping up to the role of the warrior and the hero.

Part 2

The Quest - Again. Xena's dead, she's having nightmares but still she knows to stand up to the role and become the hero. She takes on the mask of the Queen thinking this is her new path, to lead the Amazons.

The Deliverer - In Dahaks flame. The beggining of it all. Hope, lies, betrayal, the rift, Solan. It all came from that moment.

Part 3

Maternal Instincts - She poisoned Hope and at that moment everything is on her soulders. Solans dead, Xena hates her, she just killed her own daughter and was thinking about killing herself.

Forget Me Not - This was Gabrielle's personal end to the Rift. Battling her own conscience, and hatred of herself.

Part 4

IoM - She's crucified. The end of this part of her life. After everything she's been through, after The Way. She left her path to save Xena, unsure of what would come and then they died together. Death of her old path and way, the bridge to her new role; the warrior.

Part 5

THAB - One of my favourite moments. Walking back to Xena, covered in blood. Compare this image to the Gabrielle we had known years ago. She is now, the warrior but look at her face, she's lost, it's killing her inside.

Part 6

AFIN scenes - The chakram. Covered in Xena's blood and legacy. Her hero is gone and now she truly must take her place. The things thats killing her, the fighting, the death, everything that she must embrace to take on Xena's role in the world.
