This is indeed a really powerful statement of commitment. It is actually not a song by Chris Tomlin so needs to be renamed. It is an old hymn sung by Chris Tomlin in a slightly new way. The writer is Frances R Havergal (1836-79) but it is really great that worship leaders are putting a modern twist on these old hymns as more churches leave them out of worship in an attempt to be contemporary. The truth and passion in a lot of those old hymns is far deeper than many choruses & songs today.
This is just a beautiful song that should melt away ALL the negatives. It's all about presenting yourself to God. Don't worry about anyone else, it doesn't matter anyway!!!

I don't have a problem with disliking a song about Christ. I don't like a love a lot of songs about Christ and that's okay, it doesn't mean I hate the artist or don't love Christ. But, anyways, this song rocks and the message is great, "here am I, all for thee." I can't say it much better.

9/21/08 my child Melissa was given 1 hr to live at Columbia Presby Hosp Bx NY. Both her lungs were unable to stop bleeding.Drs said that not even a lung transplant would save her.I remember how in the supernatural God used Moses to part the red sea.So I prayed God in the supernatural power You gave Moses I ask You to close my daughter's lungs like You did to the red sea.I had a scripture in every IV bottle. She flat line 8 times and was suppose to be brain dead.Drs call it miraculous.

Havergal in the 1870´s; which can fit in several tunes composed by that time and early. One of the most famous tunes is Hendon, composed by Henri A. Malan in the 1820's, and brought to North America by Lowell Mason. Chris version is based also in Malan's tune. But thanks God for guy's like Chris that brings back to our memmories such songs.

She flat line 8 times and was suppose to be brain dead.Drs call it miraculous.

These songs may not have touched their hearts now, but they might need it sometime in the future. We can never tell. Our Father works in wonderful ways. Is it not better that, at that future point in their lives, they'll have something to recall? Remember dear, it is those who are lost that needs us most. Why don't we pray for them instead? Smile! :)

It doesn't matter what kind of voice he has, only that he's giving it to Jesus! I can't sing, but I will still make a joyful noise to the Lord...

Hi to everyone. No doubt Chris is a great singer and composer, however this song was not written by him, he only arranged and old hymn written by Frances H. Havergal in the 1870´s; which can fit in several tunes composed by that time and early. One of the most famous tunes is Hendon, composed by Henri A. Malan in the 1820's, and brought to North America by Lowell Mason. Chris version is based also in Malan's tune. But thanks God for guy's like Chris that brings back to our memmories such songs.
