  • in 1988 - we lived in the same small village - Patrick Scales, his Brother Martin and ohter people from theyer band "slap crack'll Pop" produced a funky-version of a rock-classic track from bavaria in Germany. The Track called "Wölfe" - here him slapping the Bass on that track - search for "wölfe remix"

  • This dude is ill. Very talented dude. He gets a "Hood Pass"

  • that dude has got the illest bass face ever once he begins the slap part at 0:47 fuck yeah!

  • Could it get any better? That is just insane!! I wish that some day I was that good...

  • ONe word: Mad skills!

  • I would really like to know how he made the tone switch so fast between the finger picking part to the tone he used for the slap bass part

  • He is using an effect stomp box. He just step on the button & it bypassed the effect.

  • @nrwhite6325 Finger/Bridge pickup (probably + some middle) Slap/Both Pickups(probably scoop out the middle)

  • Brilliant! :D

  • Fuck no way! is that even possible, i'm a bass player and when i see this it makes me want to practice ALOT, i hope someday i can play nearly as good as he can

  • THAT´s how u play bass!

  • great stuff! keep on going...!

  • It can't get much better then this, can it?

Hey Mr.Scales,U killed it once again!

    Amazing solo!

    C U around!

  • Aaaaawweeeeesooooomeeeeee mannnn!!!!!

  • awesome!

  • Whoa! I really like this one! And about your discussion, I like this guy more than dickens, because every video dickens has on youtube is just fastplaying.. i am a groove man so they aren't saying me anything.. but please, put up something groovy with dickens and I will gladly give him another chance :)

  • I really like the fact that he plays a 4 string bass. but I'm a traditionalist.

  • im all for it

  • funky. very nice and clean too.

  • this man is a GOD

  • He's very good. He's not God. God is god. But if there was ever a god on earth (which there isn't) it would be billy dickens. If you've never heard of him, go get a diaper and google him.

  • But seriously, get a diaper first because you will shit endless amounts of poop that you never thought would produce from your mcdonalds happy meal. 9 string bass, 64th notes, & he's the only bass player on earth that victor wooten himself bows too. Victor has said it publicly. And....if you've never heard of victor, you're way out of the loop.

  • buddah dickens plays way too fast, not very musical, this man has the right idea..

  • you have heard, cool. He does play fast but he can play anything, any style. he can play slow too.

  • i guess your right, but sometimes it seems like the point is just to play 64th notes and not funk it properly.. but i understand

  • if you could play 64ths, you'd do it too. I see your point and we're in agreement. but seriously, if you could do, you'd do it. and that's why he does it. if an album required him to play groovy and with taste, i guarantee he'd do it. He's been from point A to point G.

  • you can't skip the middle and get to the end like he has. see what i'm sayin? He can do it all. I like this cat allot, don't get me wrong because there's only one buddah out there just like there's only one segovia.

  • I love it paddy!!!

  • wow

  • DAMN

  • damn thats sick

  • NASTY!! And I mean that as a high compliment!! It had me doing a bass face as a listened. :)

  • nice

  • Great!

  • sic!~

  • damn thats crazy

  • Great groove! You and the drummer must have a lot of fun! 5/5

  • that's nuts dude!

and a great 'bass face' too! ;P
