  • Hell, This is my 62 year old Grandfather's company car. He had a BMW diesel that was slow as all hell, so he floors it like that religiously. :) Great Car!

  • holy crap i didnt know it could make that noise!

  • wow that thing hauls ass

  • Those Things Haul ass......I swear mine has a supercharger or something haha

  • funny guy a vtec will destroy that thing thats why ppl are hype about vtecs there fast

  • @D86shanks You exercise excellent grammar, as is expected from the average VTEC-bro. VTECs are not fast, especially when you need to get to 6,000 RPM before your car makes over 100 horsepower (which is why they weren't designed to be fast :]).

  • @Nebraskahusker23 Um, I would like to point out that the J35 In the Accord V6 Makes 85 % of its Torque at 1500 RPM. -__-

Have you ever driven a J Series V6 Powered Honda? Yes? No? ... Mmkay.

  • @wongmylesa That's nice, too bad it reached max torque at 5,000 RPM and mine will make max at 1,800 and no, it's not a diesel. My car also reached max HP at 5,100 RPMs while your J35 will make max HP at 6,200 RPM. I've driven a 2007 Honda Accord V6 (different engine but the same in many aspects) and it feels incredibly slow. My friend also has one and it's not fast. At all.

  • @Nebraskahusker23 fucking really?

Bahahaha. The K20 in the Si has a flat torque curve from 2000 RPM allll the way up to 8000

    LEARN

    I have a J30A4 Honda accord. With light mods, I get 5.9 - 6.0 0-60s

When it was stock I used to get 6.7 seconds to 60.

That's pretty fast for a 2004 Fully loaded sedan -_-

The 2011 accord coupe does 0-60 in 5.8 seconds stock. <---- thats pretty fast.

  • @wongmylesa My friend also has a 2004 Accord V6 (see my videos). It's funny because he thinks his car is fast and could take mine. I actually convinced him that there's a VTAK light on the dash that goes on when the VTAK kicks in.

  • @Nebraskahusker23 I would like to point out, that ive just looked at the torque curve for the GTi 2.0T, Max torque was at 2183 RPM and right after 5400 RPM all the torque falls off.

I actually have an 04 GLi VR6 its a great torquey engine. i love it.

However, your friends stupidity has nothing to do with the speed of the accord V6.

The accord V6 sedan is speedy for what it is.

    Especially the Accord V6 Coupe.

  • @wongmylesa Yes, the new V6 Coupe is speedy for what it is, but the 3.0L from '07 and older is considerably slower (but not a ton). I know all torque falls at 5400 RPM, you get no power out of the 2.0T after about 6,000 RPMs which is why when I like to drive fast that's where I shift. I know my friend's stupidity has nothing to do with it but he has the Sedan auto, which is a lot slower than the V6 Coupe. He also said once when he did a 0-60 run "that was easily under 5 seconds" LOL, car's stock

  • @Nebraskahusker23 VTEC you mean?

  • @yamahonkawazuki Nope, I mean VTAK :)

  • @Nebraskahusker23 well for honda it is called vtec, who uses vtak? if i may ask?

  • @yamahonkawazuki It's just a joke. I just use it to make fun of people that think VTEC is the most awesome thing in automobile history.

  • @Nebraskahusker23 got ya. figured. hell vtec is really nothign its means by definition

Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control per wiki and honda. its not night and daay difference in HP. course im sure you knew this. was posting in this reply for others who didnt

  • @Nebraskahusker23 What do you drive?

  • @wongmylesa 2007 MkV Volkswagen GTI.

  • @wongmylesa 2007 MkV Volkswagen GTI.

  • im thinking about getting a 2000 ford crown victoria ls Kilometers 488000 should i do it i know thats high Kilometers but iv heard these cars last a life time

  • I have this car Ford Edge SEL 2010 vista roof and dvd

  • Once I pay off my loans in a couple of years I am selling my hondas and buying an edge and a mustang GT. Good to buy american again.

  • @mcshivenhook Except Ford is made in Canada and Mexico...

  • I did a 20-80 in my edge and was quite shocked at how fast it did it. It's definitely a sleeper.

  • I got 8:02 on this one. Not bad at all.

  • Comment removed

  • @dean4tech

And these Edges weigh in @ 4200lbs++. I'm sureyour beamer doesn't weigh that much.

  • @dean4tech I dont remember the last time someone made a V4 .... I do recall them making very good INLINE 4's however.

  • @dean4tech inline 4 lol

  • we had edge it was so cool!

  • :'( My Aunt had a gorgeous Edge Limited ...some idiot drunk driver rear ended her and took the whole damn back of the car off! Some cock sucker in a Tahoe sittin on 22 or 24's lame ass, ran a red lite goin at least 60mph.. speedin across 71st St. :'( She's got an Enclave now so hey lol

  • i have it, its alright, i prefer my 99 taurus

  • For a ford edge, nice!

  • my freinds shuts down at 115 takes a while tho

  • thats dam quick. great job ford and for almost 30 g's borderline fullyloaded, thats just awesome

  • Nice car, Drove this and the CX-7, ended up with CX-7, Didn't like the edge it drove like a boat, especially in the turns. The other thing I did not like was the transmission, 2 forward gears Low and drive, no manual shifting. Not saying its a bad car cause its not, just didn't fit my taste.

  • Wait for the ECOBOOST to walk all over that CX-7 for sure man give it some time to get out there

they should make a sport version better than their little sister Mazda car but what you sat is correct for now.......turbo, manual, sporty......YEAH i gotta agree,

  • ford has really stepped up there game in the past few years. i remember my first SUV in america was the ford explorer eddie bouer edition, it was the first eddie bouer explorer and i had to get it

  • Hi...The ford edge is fantastic, but someone knows how is the edge maximum speed? I will aprecciate to know....

    thanks

  • @pdomenico1 the fastest they'll go is like 183km/h . I've personally seen 186 on gps going down a hill lol , but they are governed at that speed. It's like 111-112 mph .

  • My friend has an edge and we've had the needle buried at 120...or 119..I have a video up somewhere...

  • yea this car is awesome i have it, when you floor it omg you feel so much power its actually amazing and surprising, are you getting the limited?

  • GETTING THIS CAR!!!! IM SO HAPPY

  • @L3g3nd43v3r nice man i just got a pre order on the 2011 sport drove a test one hope you got the 2011 man

  • I'm not making huge assumptions. If you look closely I just made an obvious point to your juvenal comment about drifting. If you're going to drift, but a sports car, why would you even make the comment about drifting in a cross-over. That makes you a douchebag kid.

  • You're the one who started out being an asshole, you cant deny that. And if people are trying to talk about how quick the car is (the point of the video), I'm sure they are performance oriented. And I'm just trying to prove that this is not a performance car by any means, and I know this because I put it to the test. Had this been a '70 VW bus, no body would be making videos about performance and no body would be talking about acceleration or drifting.

  • It seems like it gets the same acceleration as a V8 Explorer.

  • its a crossover, it's not meant for offroading nor "Drifting"

  • 7 and a half sec. nice

  • nooo, more like 9. Im driving a rental Edge right now, its a huge piece of shit. I dont understand how a small car with 265 hp moves so damn slow

  • how is it a piece of junk? i like the ford edge i think its nice

  • In my opinion, it is an epic engineering failure. You would think the ugly styling had something to do with good visibility, but it doesn't, I have my seat all the way up to drive, anyone shorter than 5'9" wouldn't be able to see 10 feet in front. 15 years ago or more, a car with 265 horsepower was very fast, especially one that small, this thing is anything but fast, the 140 hp Taurus we once owned was much more exciting to drive. I am currently in Utah, and I can tell by the exagerated

  • (PART 2)... amount of shifting (due to the weak engine) the transmission will go out in much less than 10 years, possibly less than 5 (I forgot to mention there are many hills/mountains here). The one redeeming feature I have found about the car is the handling, I took it out in the desert and did some high speed driving on the dirt roads;

  • (PART 3)... it won't let you drift like my truck will because the awd and traction control really grips the road. This makes it great for inexperienced drivers driving on gravel or ice. Overall, I give the car a 3 out of 10.

    Thanks,

    George

  • you know the traction/stability control that wont let you drift is actually a good thing. plus why would you want to drift a crossover?

  • Why do people drift trucks? Because it's stupid and fun, its something called human nature. And I made it a point that although the traction control kept it from being fun, it was a good thing because many people wouldnt know what to do if their car started to drift.

  • im talking about a fwd or awd crossover, not a truck. why would you try to drive a fwd or awd edge

  • thats when you pop out the ABS fuse to completely disable the stability control system.... AWD still functional.. this equals fun in the snow ! No good on gravel.. open diffs SUCK.

  • yea I know Ive been spoiled by having an eaton limited slip in my truck..one day I drove my friend's truck with open diffs, its like having half the machine

  • lucky you .. those eatons are GREAT ! haha open diffs are no fun at all , they just spin uselessly.

  • yea I payed good money for it but its the best investment Ive ever made besides buying the truck itself. When me and my buddies enter a trail I always lead lol, and the last time I just kept it in 2 wheel while my friend struggled in 4 wheel

  • which fuse is it? I've looked into the control unit of mine but didn't see it.

  • NOT in the control unit under the hood.. its actually on the kick panel to the left of your feet.. you'll see it... its in the book , I believe #34 ? not sure.. but it is a simple 10A fuse. Check 11 down in the 1st row , and 2 over , and if its a red 10A , thats it. You'll see the wrench and the trac control light come on. Then you can do burnouts if you have AWD. IF you want to slide, the ABS fuse is under the hood in the power distribution box. Its one of the few in the 1st row. Also in book.

  • like ABS for slides is under the hood. Like I said, it is described in the owners manual as to where the location of the fuses are. Hope this helps !

  • nice thanks!

  • don't forget to be nice to the larger fuses ! Get your needle nose's and tug it out CAREFULLY...

  • LOL, he's just being a dumbass, if you drift with a cross-over, you've got some serious problems.

  • Whats the difference between drifting a crossover and drifting anything else? No car is made for "drifting", thats why the sport is so exciting; being able to control a drift is literally controlled mayhem.

  • A 3 out of ten? You better be kidding? This is the best damn cross-over on the market TODAY. The AWD and TCS help prevent accidents from happening because of assholes like you on the road.

  • I already explained twice that those features help inexperienced drivers avoid accidents, and just because I have a valid opinion with actual reasons doesnt make me an asshole. Now what you just said makes you one who makes huge assumptions, which makes you a deuche bag.

  • ok your opinion then, well i like the car.. my opinion

  • haha thats bc its a rental

do u know how many people tear the shit outta those cars

  • this car had less than5000 miles and was in escellent shape, besides, what would they do that would make it slower without the car driving funny or making weird noises?

  • idk but i can tell u that i have one with 32k miles and its one of the fastest cars ive drove and raced. i can garentee its far from slow or a piece of crap.

  • lol If I can keep up with Avenger R/T's in my Edge.. I think i'm doing QUITE okay myself :)

  • well all wheel drive does not prevent accidents, rather it is the stability control system accompanied by roll and yaw rate sensors . AdvanceTrac on the Edge is a superior system , and in fact designed by Volvo, a true plus ! ABS does all the work when an under/oversteer situation arises , and if the driver is dumb enough, the system may cut throttle if it is still applied ( most likely in an oversteer event ).

  • and will agree with the cayenne s its has more hp

but the cayenne standard is too heavy and doesnt have enough hp

  • ok you dumb bitch it you dont believe check out my vid

    2009 Ford Escape V6 4X2 0-60

  • Wheres your video?? Or are you talking about somebody else video??

  • BTW the ford escape is a 4.o liter engine lol the porsche is shit to

cuz my 2008 escape does 0-100 in 9 so your telling me that some guy goes and buys a 80k car so that some suv can keep with it

  • lol the ford escape 2009 does 0-60 in 7 seconds i just little faster than this car

  • In your dreams....

    A 2009 Porsche Cayenne (the standard edition, 3.6 V6, 290 HP) does 0-100 in 8.1 seconds and a Cayenne S does it in 6.6 secs (385 HP).

There is no way the 2009 Escape (240 HP) does it in 7 secs.

  • A Cayenne weighs a lot more than an Escape.

  • True but there is still no way an escape does 0-60 in 7 seconds.

Maybe the Escape could keep up with a standard Cayenne for a little but definately not with the Cayenne S.

  • I would imagine that the 2009 Escape with the 3.0 V6 could do 0-60 in the high seven or lows eights. But your right, there is no way an Escape could come close to the Cayenne S in terms of acceleration.

  • Not too shabby! Looks just as quick as the Fusion V6

  • that's a quick SUV for a V6!

  • This is pretty fast, and this car is great. Nice one ford. And imagine this engine, just in a ford fusion. Thats the 2010 Ford Fusion Sport. That thing has got to be killer.

  • Er I hope your not talking about the edge.... Its only available in Front Wheel Drive, or All Wheel Drive. No RWD option.

  • No, Im just tired of Honda owners flaunting VTEC like its something super special. Cant you just say 3.7L V6? Noooo Its a 3.7L V-TECH. Give me a break, noone cares about vtec.

  • @rudolphna54 They don't realize VTEC was actually designed for fuel economy and really isn't that special. My V6 Fusion will run all over an I4 SI Civic.

  • @highlanderhybrid you're so wrong... Unless the driver in the SI doesn't know how to shift.. I've been in a drag between these two cars.. In fact, ive been in an old fusion vs civis SI and new fusion vs Civic Si (both fusions the SEL model, in other words, V6). Results: Both fusions will launch better but the SI will catch up say 3-4 seconds later and leave behind the old fusion and keeping up with the new fusion.. (although the new fusion will leave the civic behind after the 1/4 of a mile..)

  • @blabolabla You forget the Fusion has two V6 engine choices... The 3.0 in the SEL and the 3.5 in the Sport..

  • @highlanderhybrid Apart from the 3.5 V6, the SI should be a fair race against the 3.0 fusion.. but then again, Its a N/A 4cyl inline 2.0 engine VS a 3.0 V6...

  • @highlanderhybrid Yeah, your Fusion would take a dump on a Civic SI.

  • @highlanderhybrid VTEC was NOT designed for fuel economy. Where do you get this shit from?...

PLEASE do not talk shit unless you have facts to back up your slew of bullshit.

The Si Will take care of a fusion.

  • @wongmylesa No, Sorry a puny little torqueless I4 Si will not outrun a 3.5 V6 Fusion. And my Fusion will run to 60 in 4.7 seconds, last time I checked they don't run to 60 that quick.

  • @highlanderhybrid Your fusion does 0-60 in 6.5 seconds.

The other videos are obviously fake. You used editing software to speed the video up.

Hence, no S/C whine. No wheelspin. No CAI. And that's that.

Accord V6es walk allll over you.

  • @wongmylesa Hmm you know it's funny case inside line disagree's with you, the Accord run's to 60 in 7.2 seconds. And my wheel's don't spin because I actually have an AWD car..

  • @highlanderhybrid

You know what else is funny, Insideline says that the Taurus does an 8 second 0-60.

Its hilarious that you would chose the slowest reviewd 0-60 time of the Accord 3.0 on the internet.

Get on youtube. Type in Honda Accord Sedan V6 0-60 .... Get a stopwatch. Press the GO button. Then clock the stop button once you reach 6.4-6.5 seconds.

And if you feel that you should do the same with the 6 Speed accord, Then click the stop button at 5.8 seconds.

  • @highlanderhybrid And i would just like to point out to everyone else who reads this thread....

That there are 3 videos on highlanderhybrid 's account of his 240 HP fusion Spinning the wheels quite well...

    Your a liar...

Fake Video. Caught yourself in your own lies.

    Thats a shame.

  • @wongmylesa Wow, further exhibiting how intelligent you are. The Si only produces 139 ft. lbs. of torque at 6,100 RPM, so it takes an eternity to reach max torque, and when you get there, you barely get anything. Plus max HP is at 7,800 RPM, another ridiculously high number. Horsepower sells cars, torque wins races. You also never took the time to look at highlanderhybrid's videos to see how insanely fast his Fusion is.

  • @rudolphna54 why do you care about other people caring about vtec, doesn't seem like something worth fussing over.

  • Comment removed

  • what the hell are you talking about?

  • acura's mdx has 307 hp with a 3.7 litre V-Tech engine

  • ugh... VTEC... stupid ricers think VTEC is a damn turbo or something.. Idiots.... That was unrelated to the video. My grandmother has one of these, its definetely not slow by any stretch of hte imatination.

  • and its slower than shit, drove one friday it was nice and handled well but it was very slow and its torque less thanks to v tech no power below 3k revs.

  • no V tech on Fords. Honda only, and only above 6,000+rpm. Ford finally starting to notice their poor power to weight ratio at least. They could get away with a 3.0L V6 currently in the Fusion if they put the Edge on a diet program - it'll easily perform just as well as the current model with larger V6

  • i was making a reference to some one else but the stupid shit removed there comment.

  • ha ok.

Perhaps from now on when someone asks me what engine's are in my vehicles I'll say:

3.5L V6 OHV, or 5.9L OHV or 1.8L VVTi, lol

Beat that VTECH! Besides, OHV are a lot easier and cheaper to maintain.

  • Vtech is a toycompany. V-TEC! and dont forget about VVTLI either

  • V-TEC works above 4500rpm on all honda engines except the civic si and the s2000.

  • So in other words, it's useless tech. If Honda was so into getting better fuel economy then why should an owner have to rev the engine that high to get half decent performance! Sheesh.

  • Not really. It allows them to use 2 camshafts. The primary camshaft is for fuel economy, normal driving, etc. The second camshaft it for performance. By having two, it benefits you at all rpms. By the way, the Edge has VVT as well.

  • At least Ford doesn't advertise it. Perhaps they should call it something fancy, like VROOM, lol.

  • Lol. Many car makers use VVT, but they don't feel the need to brag about it.

  • It only seems like Honda and Toyota advertise it. Perhaps that's due to the fact that their engines are underpowered by similar competition. However, their competition uses larger displacement engines so in a sense, you can't really compare that way. At least Toy and Mazda are keeping their vehicles rather light, compared to the added standard and safety equipment they install.

  • its not using 2 cams.... its using an additional lobe on the cam that pushes the valve down more to increase performance once a solenoid is activated.... all this is done on the same cam. it may be DOHC but it still has the technology incorporated in the same cam. not a separate one.

  • You're close. Vtec doesn't have "2 camshafts" it has 3 different lobes for each valve on either camshaft, in a dohc model. Older SOHC VTECs only acted on the intake valves. Anyway the 2 lower lift lobes are followed until VTEC is activated.

When the RPMs are high enough and the oil pressure has risen it activates a solenoid which then locks in the rocker over the high lift lobe on the cam.

    This is to volvo23t btw.

  • thats not true at all

the civic si and s2000 have vtec

some of the V6 dont have them, and the V8 in the ridgeline obviously doesent have it. some preludes dont have it either.

  • All Hondas that are currently produced, have V-TEC. Also, the Ridgeline does not have a V8. It has a 3.5 liter V6, which has V-TEC.

  • ridgeline has a v6 3.5 L..

  • Thats pretty good for a vehicle its weight. that V6 does a good job of motivating that edge.

  • i agree, that V6 gives 265 horsepower, a good amount
