First time I saw this video was in 1992, I bought a video tape from Chryslers at Carlisle. It had all the muscle cars and stuff from the 60's, from the 60 plymouth through 1970 dodge, and included a couple commercials of the Imperial, Chrysler New Yorker, 300, as well as Chargers and baracuda's. Good to see them on the net.
This commercial and the others in the series were filmed at Belmont Park, in Mission Beach, San Diego. It still exists, though not like it did up until the mid seventies. A good portion of it is now a parking lot for the beach and adjacent parks. The roller coaster was restored in the early 90's and is still operating. I remember those kiddie rides well, as I went there many times as a child.
show up in a tight polo and tight white jeans with some loafers and say that, the kind of go go 60's apparel, lol, that would be a good superbowl commercial
I'm going to my Plymouth dealer right now and saying...GTX!!!! . . . and then im gonna walk home from that abandoned building

I really liked that line, "Plymouth is out to win you over." It was a toss up between that and "Plymouth makes it." Two of the coolest by lines.

Shutting someone down is a drag racing term meaning kicking the ass. Winning or beating them.

The 67 plymouth belvedere was Richard Pettys most winning car with 27 wins.A record that will stand for a long time, not bad for a boxy brick.

I had to change the water pump in my car today. I made sure to spill as much of the coolant all over the floor as I could.
