My Maine Coon is huge. Not sure just how much he weighs but he does do some tricks (sit. play dead). Only problem I ahve with him is anytime I run the water for my bath, he jsut has to get in first unless I close the door.

I watched this while holding my daughter (who is 16 months old) and she got the biggest laughs out of Jigsaw when he sat up and gave you his paws. We have a female ragdoll that looks just like him so maybe she thought it was our kitty. But anways we both loved his tricks!

I am going to buy a ragdoll cat but I am worried as he will be the only one there. I only work about six hours a day and sometimes 4 hours a day on the weekdays and im free on the weekends. Is this enough to where my ragdoll will not feel lonely?

Ragdolls are cats that craves a humans company. If you can't live up to the demands certain catbreeds have, then i suggest you should think about getting another breed... someone who can be alone and entertain themselves without feeling lonely.

if you really want a ragdoll, then i suggest you get he/she another cat to keep them entertained and social while you are gone :)

@khalilahinjapan I used to have a ragdoll. They are very independent. They are great cats. The cat won't mind you being away from his house as long as you clean his litter box and leave him enough food and water.

khalilahinjapan: Why not get 2 cats? They can keep each other company. It's a little more work, food and vet care, but it's worth it to keep your kitties happy. And if kitties are happy, you will be too. Best of luck with your new kitties.

Jigsaw is 9 years old and weight about 19 pounds. His father was 25 pounds. He is a short guy. If he is taller (longer) he would reach 25 pounds, i think. Your ragdoll is so cute and still has big paws so he will grow more! It can take them 3-4 years to reach their maximum maturity and size.

they dont differ that much from regular tabbies actually. I got one too and he's 9 months old now and i got him when he was 13 weeks old but sometimes it can be a real dragon. Loves to play sneak attacks and race around the room when he has his crazy 5 minutes and doing things he knows hes not allowed to do :P but thats the kitten so cant blame him. They also love to go wherever you go and 'help' you..

You can find a lot of information on internet to get a good look at the breed. Good luck :)

My ragdoll Heidi (blue bi-color) loves to do tricks-she's only 5 months old but does "come", "sit", "up", "shake", "kiss" and follows a mark, so she goes wherever I want her to go ie up on the piano bench and over the keyboard so she hits a key. We use the clicker method and canned food. I'll have to post a video soon. I would love to get "talk", but it is so hard to catch them meowing so you can click the behavior-any tips?
