The word church comes from the Greek belief in the goddess Circe. Circe would invite people into her home and brainwash them and turn them into helpless animals. Today we see the very same thing happening to the people who go to church today, they get brainwashed by the church, give over their money their whole selves, just like the goddess Circe cult back in Greece 1000's of years ago. So I guess nothing has change with the church it will always be there to rob your mind, wallet and soul.
My point proven. Rather than attempting to look up sources you blindly refute it. I have seen this 3 times and have never personally worked with an autistic child who has a spiritual belief (I've personally helped rehab 12 with different levels on the spectrum, so no, not a "guy 50 years ago, its common). I have also read of brain injury doing the opposite. I challenge you to do your own research. With that said, thank you for the conversation, and expressing your opinions to me. I wish you luck
Church is a man—made invention. There's nothing godly about playing church. Some call it sectarianism. It's mammon worship. Hebrews 9: 11—12 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building (creation); Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
God said that? Did he speak to you personally? Or are you assuming that all things in the bible are directly the "word of god?" How many times has the bible been translated? How many teachings did the church reject? Religion is a purely man made construct, and ones religion is purely an accident of birth. Had you been born in Saudi Arabia you would likely be Muslim. In Greek times and you would worship Zeus. In India Vishnu. BTW Jesus was socialist (Mark chapter 10:21-25).
God did indeed speak to me, It's called prayer. Prayer is a conversation and nothing more. I am sorry that you have not yet experieced God's love and peace. I believe in God, I believe that he gave his only son so that we may have eternal life. I believe that Jesus is the son of God. Unfortunately other religions are not really relgions at all, they are blasphemy of what God's plan is. Furthermore I don't believe in religion at all but rather a relationship with my savior.
Believing in God and his Son Jesus Christ is something that you can only experience to understand, I can sit here and tell you all kinds of things but you need to experience it for yourself. It's alot like falling in love, you can't control it from happening, it's a feeling of redemption and release. "Jesus was a socialist" what does this have to do with the price of eggs??? Social equality??? of course he was, we should all strive to live like Jesus did, we would be better people.
I have heard the exact same argument from Hindus, Muslims, Christians, and Jews. Prayer is a conversation? Did the almighty speak back? If so you must be a profit. Tell me exactly what our creator said? Verbatim... Oh, you can't because the conversation took place entirely within your own brain. Like many religious folks you glossed over the questions I posed and chose to answer in simplistic and condescending terms. The classic "I feel sorry that you don't believe like me."
Well don't feel sorry for me fella. I know that each individual reality is the product of coordinated electrical activity in our brains. The way you were brought up has solidified these neural pathways, and as a result your thinking will exist within a predetermined box. Let me pose a question to you, and this time I want you to answer it. I work with children who have suffered neurological traumas (brain injuries). A common byproduct of injury to the pre-frontal cortex.. cont next
I will continue my ? from the previous post. So individuals who have suffered injury to the pre-frontal cortex and temporal lobes of the brain can lose the ability to believe in god. It requires many intact brain regions to process such an abstract concept (read up on autistic children also). My question, are children who lack the brain structures necessary to "believe" inherently evil and condemned to hell? Don't skimp on your answer, I want yes or no! Oh, and bad assumption BTW.
No injury or anything else can make you lose your ability to believe in God. God said that nothing can come between him and his people (people being everyone in existence whether you believe in him or not for he is the creator)
You might argue that science proves otherwise but it really doesn't matter. who said that this was not made up by some weird old man 50 years ago in his office??? There is no proof for this unfortunately and I do not believe in it just a you don't believe.
I also find it ironic you insult science, using a medium created by scientists. Wow:)
With my piece said thank you for your conversation. I appreciate you taking the time to express your beliefs. I wish you nothing but good luck, and hope you use your faith for positive goals.
Christ created a religion. He organized it with a structure (apostles, prophets, the seventy, bishops, deacons, etc). It is all in the Bible. However, after the apostles and many generations of original Christians were martyred, man made many changes to what Christ had originally organized. That is why there are so many divisions today— because of man. However, there is a such thing as pure Christianity in the form of a religion.
none of that organ playing acoustic guitar playing music to be honest....it's really is annoying there's allot of Christian bands and hip-hop artists i like like "demon hunter" and "Toby mac" that's a really good metal band and he's a really good Christian hip-hop artist so whatever you think allot of Christians like musically that's just a total stereotype another good Christian band is flyleaf go check um out
actually not every Christian thinks the kind of music they play in churches are all that great to listen to im a Christian myself and i purfer secondary style music like rock metal hip-hop etc
there are too many different religions ... our planet is tiny and dying ... maybe ppl should stop worrying about things you cant see or hear ... and concentrate on helping restore the thing we all share ... our little blue planet ... if every1 put as much effort into saving our earth as they do preaching bout this god or that god ... then maybe we will stand a chance off surviving a little longer ... my god is my earth and my god is crying q=)
I agree. Religion is the root cause of most of the wars and problems that exist in the World. Time on Sundays would be better spent helping the local community , young , old , infirm , sick than deliberating over the content of a book they believe was written 2000 years ago. Get over it ! That was then - Global issues is now.
-The Oxford dictionary defines Religion: Belief in a superhuman controlling power, esp. in a personal God or gods entitled to obedience and worship
Spirituality: This term is defined quite differently by monotheists, polytheists, humanists, followers of new age, Native Americans, etc. A common meaning is "devotion to metaphysical matters, as opposed to worldly things." Another is "Activities which renew, lift up, comfort, heal and inspire both ourselves and those with whom we interact."
its not about pressurizing people to go to church, it's about wanting people to understand and feel the love of god.Chursch is a nice way to do that with others. but at the end of the day it is all about our Lord Jesus.
Cool Vid.^_^ My Sunday Morning's not complete without church^^, Who sang the background music? Is it Jars of Clay? It sounds like it. Anyways, GOD RAWKZ!!!
I love my church family, and I am amazed by the diversity of the family of God. It saddens me when churches deny the diversity and demand we all the same though.
Bullshit. This video was obviously done by Christians. The song in the background is almost unmistakably from a Christian 'artist'. They probably got more scathing opinions but didn't put them on, in favor of more gentle criticisms like 'too much pressure'.
considering the context of the video it probably is a christian band, but there is no reason to be so hostile, music is a vessel and can convey any message you want, just because it's slow mellow music doesn't make it christian, there are christian bands that that play real hard metal, as a matter of fact the band As I LAY Dying is a "christian band"
i am a christian and do go to church and i like all kinds of music that i think is great from 80s music to heavy metal to pop, it really disgusts me when people steoreotype a certain style of playing music, did you ever stop to think there may be other atheists/pagans/satanists that play mellow music praising their god? the music isn't christian or not, the lyrics are what give it that designation, that's the point
There's a big difference between "mellow" music and Christian music.
Bob Marley plays mellow music. Pink Floyd plays mellow music.
Todd Agnew doesn't play mellow music, Todd Agnew plays shitty acoustic ballads that have been re-canned and re-sold to Christian audiences under the pretense of something "new".
Christian music is a business, nothing more. Those morons wouldn't know the first thing about being Christian any more than they would know how to write an original song.
i'm just saying if you don't like the message of the video then voice your opinion about that, the video isn't about the music, and there are some songs by pink floyd that i wouldn't consider mellow, like dogs of war, but i'm not going to waste any more of my time on you, bye
My original comment had nothing to do with music, it had to do with this video trying to seem like it's giving "street opinions" which it most certainly is not.
Funny that they don't even ask What Church. Must be from the bibble belt.

Parting of the seas, wine into water - it`s all balloney. In 2000 years time they`ll be praying to Harry Potter but Christians cant see that.
