Foppa was an amazing player, his ability to balance on his skates combined with his skill made him one of the most lethal opponents the game has ever seen. If he didn't ruff house, he'd still be playing today and would be ranked among the elite in numbers.

you can't compare players from different era's fairly and different teams and with different backgrounds. comparing stats doesn't really prove who was the best either. forsberg was plagued with injuries and as a result never played the length that other greats did and then theres the type of player that you are. I listed up some things that explains why. I still think it's hard though, for any european hockey player, to be accepted in the NHL. There's alot of "Don Cherries" out there who will rather see a North American as no 1 then any Swede, Finn or Russian.

Also, he was considered (possibly) the best two way player in a selected time period, not of all time. Nick Lidstrom is probably the best two way Swedish player of all time. Forsberg's 885 points just does not compare to Gretzky's 2,857. Good candidate for one of the 50 greatest players of all time, but towards the bottom. My hockey icon list is shorter, but that is subjective.
