@Stewartx5, you can only be one thing...an employee. The USDA oversees (yeah right like they have time and manpower) commercial breeding which are defined as puppymills. The allowance of up to 1000 breeding animals living the entirety of their lives in wire rabbit hutches is abuse. Although Barkworks may be purchasing from what's "legal", it's UNETHICAL!!! You have Noooooooooo idea how many sick, dying and dead animals arrive to those deplorable and improperly run stores. Do your homework. Shut

How do you know this particular store's puppies come from a commercial breeder who actually mistreats dogs as you describe? Animals get sick or die all the time, so one sick animal does not prove that. Regardless, in my experience, most independant breeders, inexperienced and ill-informed, are often as bad or worse.
i went to this store and the puppies all were sleeping in the cages . and in one cage there was poop on it . pretty gross. And the shop seemed under manned. There was just one person in the cash register. And the dogs kinda smelled. I guess they dont shower them. But there were many cute doggys tho.
Barkworks smells so repulsive that I'm surprised that people would even want to go inside. Seriously, just walking by the place makes your stomach turn.
@DanielManahan No they do not. They intimidate people and make people afraid of mall security. Mall security enforces mall policies, which are not laws. No one broke the law at this demonstration. The mall was helpless and the police upheld their right to assemble. It was extraordinary.
I work in a store in The Westside Pavilion. Whenever anyone says that they are going to the pet store in the mall, I always tell them about the Animal Shelter just a few blocks west, on Pico between Corinth and Purdue (just west of Best Buy). They are always were grateful for this information. The next time that you demonstrate in The Westside Pavilion have this information on your shirts.
@Roycru Thank you! Tell people to google the store before they go in there because much evidence is on-line now. How did the other vendors feel about us being there? We instructed all our people to shop there, to support other businesses, just not Barkworks. What were store employees saying?
We have proof from the USDA that Barkworks breeders keep their dogs in chicken cages outside in below freezing weather. "responsible breeders" is an outright LIE.
ok who the fuck is ann coulter, and im far from right wing dude, i support meaningful protests, the war, gay rights, civil rights, and shit like that...not a fuckin puppy protest, like i said before you guys just say adopt from a shelter, but if these dogs are treated so poorly (as you say) why don't you BUY them and "rescue" them from this so called evil "barkworks"
Hobo - when you buy a dog from a pet store you are giving money to a pet store and to the puppy mills. The more money you give to a pet store, the more puppy mill moms will suffer in puppy mills and the cycle will continue. The way to end puppy mills is to boycott stores like Barkworks so the puppy mills will have no place to sell their dogs and they will go out of business. Please google puppy mills so you can learn more about this important issue.
@hobo26 Don't you get it Hobo? It's not the puppies who are mistreated, it's their parents! The breeding dogs, where the puppies comes from. The parents never get out of the cages. How long have you worked there that you don't even know what's going on? Snoop around. You'll see. Look at the broker. Go to Nebraska or Missouri to these places. They are revolting.
That's an illogical suggestion, sir. If you "rescue" the puppies from the pet store, you in turn contribute to the source. That's shooting yourself in the foot, running in circles.
To stop puppymills. To stop the cruelty, and to stop people paying for cruelty and overpaying for poorly bred animals, you must educate the public and cut off the income for pet stores and their buddies.
In all seriousness Hobo if you did your research and actually learned the truth you might not be on here talking out of your right wing, militant Ann Coulter hugging ass. Hows that for stereotypes on the other side.LOL Moron! Please come back and say something of value with some truth to your angry ramblings of people who care not just about PEOPLE but animals too.
Hobo, I feel sorry for the parents of your Barworks dog - spending cold winters and hot summers in a rabbit hutch in Nebraska. You should get the address and go visit the puppymill in Nebraska and see for yourself.
Heartless jerks buy dogs! Barkworks is a hellhole and that mall should be ashamed of itself to allow a store that commits FRAUD, lies to the public where those puppies come from, yes I know of 2 puppies bought in that store than became deathly ill and Barkworks returned the money due to the LEMON LAW, one puppy bought last week is in the hospital clinging to life. A truck drops off puppies to this store, FROM PUPPY MILLS, CRUELTY!!!!!!!
oh wow, big words from the tree hugging hippie brigade. i own 4 rescue animals, another that i got at barkworks, it was from Nebraska, and what you guys say came from a puppy mill, is doing perfectly fine. its a jolly dog and theres nothing wrong with it. i have "researched puppy mils" before its basically a slave plantation with dogs instead, terrible i know but ya know no matter how much you guys bitch and moan its gonna continue to happen as lame as it is
Hobo, the parents of the dog you bought in Barkworks may be fine but the parents are suffering living their whole lives in a cage breeding for the likes of Barkworks. How would you like to live in a cage breeding your whole life? Never seeing the sky, grass or enjoying walks, that is what a puppy mill is, we have proof!
Tinker, your the clueless retard. we have PROOF were your dogs come from..so you'll be closed before you know it count on it you heartless, superficial looser!
Puppy Mills /animal abuse are a huge problem as well so since bark works gets there dogs from there we can only do one thing at a time so that's ONE of the problems we're going to abolish at this time
Why is it that's all your big argument? Why don't help people, endagered animals, why don't help this, that blah blah blah well if we all walked around saying "instead" what would really get done?First of all Einstein many of us do help all animals in different situations including endangered....unless Bark works selling elephants than we can't help them there on that particular day now can we?
how come you guys keep saying "save a life blah blah blah" i mean think about it...if you don't buy these dogs they just go to shelter and get euthanized so either way a dog still dies. one other thing i want to know, do you guys only protest for puppies? i mean shit there are so many fucking dogs out there, why don't you spend time protesting a more endangered animal...its not like the poodle or schnauzer are on the verge of being wiped out
@hobo26 Hobo, you're as stupid as you are heartless. This is an issue concerning millions of dogs suffering in puppy mills. Google "puppy mills" and see if you think that's a nice way to treat dogs. Grow a brain or try to wrap the two brain cells you posess around this concept: people who protested Barkworks also help people and endangered animals and the environment you take up space in.
You GUYS Are Fucking Retarded.I work at the WestSide Barkworks. We have number 1 store cause all are puppies are healthy and not from puppy mills we sale 3 puppies a day...Stop watching the news and really get real information about our company!
@Tinker29909- Nice language, young and uniformed one.
Investigations have proven the Barkworks puppies come from known cruel puppy mills that have more than a few violations on their records, or we would not even be there. You should do your homework about where your workplace TRULY gets the puppies from, if you even care. It is fact and it is well-known and documented.
There is a puppy from your store right now clinging to life at an animal hospital.
You're so ignorant! It's hilarious! And trust me, you WILL see us again and again until it closes down and you no longer have a lame mall job! Go to school honey and get a real career!
You need to find a job in a place that has a humane business model if you care about animals, buddy. There are so many sick animals coming out of there, it's tragic. There is one fighting for its life right now in a hospital. We know about your breeders and the inhumane way they treat breeding dogs. Have you been there? when? Have you seen the cages? Smelled the feces and amonia? Heard them crying? When were you in Nebraska at the mill? When? Get a real job, you creep. Stop lying.
@Tinker29909 And Tinkerjerk, 3 puppies a day means suffering puppy mill mothers. Why don't you sit in a cage for the rest of your life carrying for Barkworks, freezing, covered in shit with your hair matted and nails growing into the bottom of your feet. There is PROOF. Wake up, you heartless jerk. Think we don't know how to find out? You think you can fool people for how long? Shame on you for being an apologist for this despicable business. Go see for yourself and LEARN the truth.
Thanks Pam, what a great day. Barkworks are LIARS, animal abusers, support cruelty and puppy mills. STOP, the public will know. Rescue go to the shelter SAVE A LIFE.
