In addition to the screenplay, the things that make this film are the narration - which comes across as if it's addressing children, the cinematography - which is mostly ambient light with lush shadows and highlights, and the performances of the entire cast all of which are flawless. An excellent film and well worth seeing: It defies pigeonholing into a genre; it's a romantic comedy, but not *at all* like the stereotypical romantic comedy, even if it does use some of the same conventions. It's a road movie, but not in the traditional sense. The dynamics and even the plot work and are believable, requiring less suspension of disbelief than I would've imagined. See it on Popcornfreak

This movie has excellent production value, casting, and a decent enough screenplay to make it a much better than average movie. This is certainly one of the best ones in genre as far as I can tell. Don't miss it on Moviewatcher.us
