Unlike the deputysheriff below I did find the device useful for a real quick overview of the weather, barometric pressure, and possible altitude. I took this with me on my 3 day 34 mile canoe trip through the Delaware Water Gap. I was able to compare the temperature to another device for accuracy and it seemed to be close enough, Altitude seemed to be somewhat close after calibration. I have a hand held compass that I am going to calibrate this to and double check. For the price it's not to bad
Man, you took 6 minutes & 55 seconds to tell us absolutley not a friging thing about that digital compass. WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN SMOKING// You don't know about this signal, you don't know about that signal, guess I'll just have to try it out and figure where the hell I am in this universe. Good job Bumpkin. I won't be buying one
This one actually looks cool. I've once owned a cheap digital compass like this but to me it was more a novelty than something that I would depend on for orienteering. A great but more expensive alternative could be a wrist watch with all these features. I think that some g-shock models can do that.
In my experience old fashion magnetic compasses hold an advantage: you can easily see if your needle is behaving erratically (e.g. attracted by some items that you're carrying).
@GearBuyersGuide im too old-school, i have a hard time operating hand-held GPS, I just say fuck it and make my life easier by taking a map and a panel-compass because that's the way i learned, and the best thing is; neither run out of juice. There's pro's and con's to having gear like this
I'd like to see an update on this cause the my local store finally started carrying them and I'd like to see if it's worth the 20bux.

Can you do a video showing this product in use? I just saw this in my local store and thought about using this for a Scout Camping trip.

Cool, but.......I think I'll just stick with my Silva. 18 years old now and no dead batteries when I needed it most.

@coolstuffaddict
I tend to agree, this is purely an experiment.. so far it leans to novelty / kids toy
I think the watch idea is a much better way to go

Is the big box store a brand name store in Arizona?

@biguy525 "Big box store" is just a generic name for large retail chains like Walmart or Target.
