@Ecyerar It's not about age in a way, you can do it when they weigh enough to take the medication to sedate them.. in your case you should be good.. just don't want to wait too long or the cartlidge will start building up and it can be painfull for the pup... ;0)

I love how a person can say "Say NO to BSL!!" then do things like crop a dogs ears. It's useless and purely cosmetic to make the dog look "cool" or "tough" or something else that's ONLY for the owner. Say NO to docking and cropping also!!

Clipping ears and docking tails are shameful amimal abuse. The only reanson it started was for fighting so STOP abusing your babies for the sake of looking cool!
@WilliamZuest Actually, that's a practice used by police and military units for a VERY long time, in order to sharpen the dog's hearing, and to give potential combatants less leverage on the dog (grabbing the tail and ears can injure it). I know this dog probably won't be used in a service role, but she seems to be very happy to me.

Im not being mean but my opion is that you really shouldnt crop there ears if you mess up it can get an infection. I have a 1 year old male pit without cropped ears and he is adorable. I also have a 6 month pit without cropped ears and she is so cute. People just do that to make there pits big and scary they are actually cute and cuddly.

not to bash anyone cause i know cropping ears and docking tails has its benefits, but i don't see the cosmetic appeal. especially on pit bulls. natural ears make them look so much nicer while the cropped ears give them that mean image. their reputation is bad enough already without people pushing that image. i just don't see why people want to make their pit bulls look mean because a lot of them are as sweet as can be.

@xxbobdeexx Since the dogs are sedated for the actual surgery, the immediate answer is "no". However, after the surgery, I am sure there is discomfort. However, spaying and neutering is NOT for the appearance of the dog. I consider it a MUST if you are not a reputable breeder. There are too many dogs in shelters and pounds and being euthanized daily. People think that puppies/dogs are cute but they forget that they need constant love, food and medical attention. Pitbulls are the best!

this dog looks EXACTLY like my red nose pit. the big white blob and then the small one above it. then the white tips on her feet. except i didnt clip her ears. i like it better that way.

@xxbobdeexx Dogs are put to sleep. Don't feel a thing. My dog was so happy right after the surgery. He showed no signs of discomfort or pain. Best thing you can do for your dog or the breed is neuter or spayed your dog. Research why, you will like what you read:)

i had a big pit he was impressive just naturaly built he was dark brown and even his nose was chocolate brown he had bright green eyes every one who saw him was kinda scared of him and it was like he new so he would just kreep over to them and lick there hand like i wont hurt you im cool he was very smart i didnt cut his ears or tail but it would look cool either way but his ears laid down like a lab that red nose puppy sure had unusual ear muscles big dogs mom had a red nose

@WilliamZuest Actually, that's a practice used by police and military units for a VERY long time, in order to sharpen the dog's hearing, and to give potential combatants less leverage on the dog (grabbing the tail and ears can injure it). I know this dog probably won't be used in a service role, but she seems to be very happy to me.

first of all i would like to apologize my english is not really good but i have to say this pittbulls are awsome to me every dog is beatiful but pitts are the best they are loyal and really loving we have one pitt and two bull boxers all of them adopted and wouldnt trade them for any other dog. i used to be really scared of dogs but since i know my dogs i know that theres no bad dogs only bad people

Im not being mean but my opion is that you really shouldnt crop there ears if you mess up it can get an infection. I have a 1 year old male pit without cropped ears and he is adorable. I also have a 6 month pit without cropped ears and she is so cute. People just do that to make there pits big and scary they are actually cute and cuddly.

not to bash anyone cause i know cropping ears and docking tails has its benefits, but i don't see the cosmetic appeal. especially on pit bulls. natural ears make them look so much nicer while the cropped ears give them that mean image. their reputation is bad enough already without people pushing that image. i just don't see why people want to make their pit bulls look mean because a lot of them are as sweet as can be.

Adorable dog and she look like my pitbull. Just wondering why you cropped her ears? It is so painful and in my opinion, makes pitbulls look less attractive. I love my baby's floppy ears. Please reconsider the next time you have a dog's ears cropped.

@xxbobdeexx Since the dogs are sedated for the actual surgery, the immediate answer is "no". However, after the surgery, I am sure there is discomfort. However, spaying and neutering is NOT for the appearance of the dog. I consider it a MUST if you are not a reputable breeder. There are too many dogs in shelters and pounds and being euthanized daily. People think that puppies/dogs are cute but they forget that they need constant love, food and medical attention. Pitbulls are the best!

She is SO beautiful but I really wish you wouldn't have clipped her ears.. it is very painful to the dog, completely unnecessary, and just portrays the mean/tough look people already expect from this breed. Anyhow, thanks for rescuing her but I strongly encourage you to do some research on the ear clipping, you may change your mind.

@xxbobdeexx Dogs are put to sleep. Don't feel a thing. My dog was so happy right after the surgery. He showed no signs of discomfort or pain. Best thing you can do for your dog or the breed is neuter or spayed your dog. Research why, you will like what you read:)

i would have not let her be put to sleep either, i bought a dog dat was suppose to be full breed pitbull but he wasnt wen dey gave it to me he was really really skinny, every bone was visible and he didnt look like a pit, but they werent feeding him and i felt bad and took him in andd he turned out to be a great pet
