It is kind of amazing some "people" think health costs are like buying a car or any other commercial proposition (eg: all the insurance co-sponsored posts on Youtube by varying "people"). You can plan to buy a car or a house: it's your own responsibility and your money allocation--but you can't plan a medical affliction. Not the same. I simply note one anti-health plan person on Ytube had her two fave videos as a) a revolver shooting into a tank, and b) a clip of Milton F'man on "Greed". True!!
The whole tax issue is a typical Democrat ploy. They think if they rob from the rich with higher taxes then the poor will automaticly benefit. This is often proven false when the gov't gets the money and misuses it, or funds social programs that fail or the rich simply use tax laws and banking accounts against the higher taxation. All it does is create class warfare where the rich are vilified because they are rich. Nevermind how they make their money, all that matters is that they are rich.
So this is the fallacy of taxing the rich to enrich the poor. The poor pay little no taxes. Meaning whatever money they get they don't have to accout to the government for. Everyone pays sales taxes in most states so that is not a valid arguement for saying the poor are overtaxed. The rich usually are the ones creating jobs, while the poor basically never create jobs. Basically its a ploy for wealth redistribution. This is what it is like in Europe and it has never been like this in the US.
My Grandma had a saying for times like these. "We were in hell, but now hell is getting too hot". That is what I think about back then. People were upset but we didn't think it was going to get worse. Then, surprise, hell got hotter and everyone was caught flatfooted. Now we have a real chance to express ourselves because it can get much worse and we know we HAVE to speak now. And the thing is, its more about the deficits future generations will be forced to deal with more than tax cuts.
I can't help thinking this is a a republican vs democrat thing, than it is an actual, "I care about spending," thing. I don't think these people cared when it was Bush who was doing the spending, but now that a democrat is doing it, all of a sudden they care. No offense, I don't know these people personally, I don't know their intentions. I oppose wasteful spending too. But the fact that tea party protests are occurring now, instead of 4 years ago, I think, lessens their credibility.
You should go to one and it will dispell that myth right away. THIS is the UNITY the country has been waiting for. Every political party in this country has a chance to stand up and shout at these parties. No one is turned away. The fact that they are occuring means everyone has reached their limit and are fed up and yeah we should have been more vocal 4 years ago but guess what the economy wasn't this bad 4 years ago.
Because capitalism built this country, hand in hand with our precious freedom. to create, build, and dream. There are too many restrictions now, but we are still free to erase them. We need to be aware of creeping socialism, already in place to destroy incentive. Banks made mistakes, government messes up when it tries to regulate. Witness Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae. Learn how government screwed up the mortgages. LET US MAKE OUR OWN MISTAKES... that's how we learn
