au contraire...it doesnt take away from the creativity. Somebody designed that sculpture and somebody made the mold. Why waste time making it over and over again when they can make it with a mold. Its the same as CNC machines...its just smart business.
So ok it makes sence for this guy with no skill to actulally carve the piece. ... but isn't that the point? What value does it hold without the human touch??? none! Lets carve!
Hi Snowman, Carving ice is great and still has a market place and it also hard to find in many places. With the molds it allows the average person to be able to bring ice to the casual citizen. Ice carving will always have a niche for the specialized market share.
Hi, Just using distilled water will not work. Try it in your own freezer. The clodiness comes from trapped air in the ice so it needs to free from the outside in without the top freezing.
And it isn't a sculpture, it's a mould. The original was a sculpture, not that. It's like painting and prints, a print isn't a painting

Yes that looks pretty easy to do myself. Just need a mould and a huge freezer. I have both of those lying around

It's more like an ice mold then a sculpture .. nothing was sculpted

this is not sculpting. Its molding. It takes away from the creativity completely because its not being done by hand. .

Just a simple condensing unit you would use for a freezer.

The rubber is a natural latex rubber to give it the flexibility to be stretched over ice once it is formed.

If you would like to make "clear" ice sculptures you do need the specialized equipment to make them.

Not true, just use distilled water.

distilled, boiled, and recooled...some air manages to get into commercially distilled water.
