1. Beaten to the point she needs a life support system then when it's done being hooked up they turn it off on her
2-3. Thrown in jail for atleast 2 years then punched in the face on the way out

Vent training is a specialty in Canada, like chemo, HD, telemetry etc. Maybe because the government strictly regulates us; there are no private agencies taking $ sending incompetent workers in without a TON of oversight. Also all nurses have a licensing body that regulates us to protect the public.
in case the nurse doesn't know how to operate the machine, the superiors are far worse. they shouldn't have put such people to look after a sensitive case.
"Ultimate responsibility for Mr. Merritt lay with Wiltshire NHS..." No it doesn't. It s Nationalized (Socialized) Healthcare. It rest with Parliament. The government provides the healthcare and is responsible. Try as you may, you cannot mitigate the responsibility. The scheme of shell companies doesn't relieve the ultimate authority of the government. Ever wonder why so many Americans are against this type of healthcare? Bureaucrats in charge of health? No, thank you.

And if they could understand and could voluntarily click as this man could, someone could say (with a witness present) "click once for yes and twice for no" and once they are sure the patient can understand and is responding consistently, they can tell them the situation and ask them if they wish to continue to be treated.
