  • I lol'd at this video and through of street fighter

  • Depends on what your goals are. If you wanna fight in the ring or MMA, I suggest learning from a ring style school first. If you're into the art /tradition of muay thai, then I suggest you go the muay boran / muay chaiya route first - that is if you can find a school near you. Otherwise there are a couple of camps in Thailand that focus solely on muay chaiya that I can recommend.

  • I intend to learn the Muay Boran martial art one day soon. Should I learn Muay Thai first and then Muay Boran or the other way around?

  • This guy talk a lot...

  • so baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad

  • na moim rewirze nikt nie podnosi tak wysoko nogi:=) lepiej pokazcie jak sie obronic przed ceglowka albo smietnikiem:)

  • @gigafristajl Wydaje mi się że Donnie B nie zna polskiego -.- /sorry Donnie, this man thought that you know Polish ;)

  • @19Milooszek20 a mi sie nie wydaje, zebys mogl miec racje:)

  • I like Donnie B

  • use front kick to the thigh few inches away from groin while keeping guard high touching elbows of front hand with knee of the front leg if orthodox

  • Has this guy never heard of checking or just dropping the elbow? As an instructor I am appalled at everything from his stance (elbows are out, he's hunched, etc) to his unrealistic attacks. Absolutely horrible. Also, Muay Thai, Thai boxing, and Muay Boran are all quite different. Don't title your video one thing, claim it's another, and then show this crap. Try that little "drop your weight and kick" on an actual fighter and that kick will just transition to a khao khong to your face.

  • @jack91x I know muay thai and his stance is the standard stance for close combat fighting. Maybe you are referring to the orthodox fighting stance, which is what he is not doing. His stance is legit... Theres more than one stance in muay thai... Actually, Muay Thai also isnt that different from Muay Boran. After all, it is derived from Muay Boran. So pretty much it kinda is Muay Boran except the ring version of it. Not to be rude but as an instructor you should know this

  • @legomyeggo123 Muay Boran is an umbrella term for ALL thai unarmed styles, but if you're going to make a muay thai video, call it muay thai. It's like making a kickboxing video and labeling it boxing- a boxer would find the video useless and irrelevant. Also, I stand by my assessment of his stance and style. If you actually fight, you notice that it would've been much better to just check the kick, not all this bullshit that doesn't work. This shit would just give him a brutal concussion.

  • @legomyeggo123 The techniques that are shown here aren't even close to muay thai. The thing where he drropps to a knee and grabs him wouldn't work in real time, and makes him an easy target. His little "drop and kick" thing reminds me of a savate technique, but they kick from the knee, not the hip as in muay thai. And his "grab and spin around" thing would just result in a clinch and some elbows, as opposed to the actual technique of pulling and striking. Overall, EXTREMELY disappointing.

  • @jack91x I question your credentials. Logically speaking, it can work, but it will definitely take training. I believe his videos are created not for beginners and unfit people, but rather for people who have experienced/done muay thai for some time. It really depends on the fitness of the person as well. I don't want to get into an argument or anything, but whatever works for you, you should do it. Donnie isn't God, he is only showing us choices. It is up to us to accept them. So don't say they

  • @jack91x they are necessarily wrong please, because if you do, it is the equivalence of saying another martial art is "wrong" or faulty. At the end, whatever saves your life and what is best suited for you wins, regardless of common belief. There is no argument jack

  • @legomyeggo123 In a muay thai fight, these would not work, and would end in his receiving a knee to the face in 2 of the examples, and elbow to the face in the third. So yes, you CAN say that they're wrong. Unless blocking a knee with your face was the goal. As for my credentials, I'm a US Infantryman who also has a decade of outside experience. Go tell your teacher that they can't tell you when you're wrong, see what they say. Show them this video, they will say "Just check and counter".

  • @jack91x how a knee to the face? when he kicks, and he catches the leg, how does he throw another knee? half of his base is already gone! when an opponent has half of your base, not only do u not have balance, you also do not have much power in ur punches or elbows, so even if u do somehow manage to throw an elbow, it wont have power... remember what i said. he is not god. he is only showing choices and possibilities, not saying that these are the only options and will work 24/7

  • @legomyeggo123 His partner is kicking at halfspeed, and he's moving at realspeed. In reality, dropping to a knee takes longer than the kick. He would either A) Get kicked/kneed (Depends on whether they snap their kicks or not) or B) miss completely, while losing mobility and putting his face at knee level. That's why this is not an actual technique, and you will never see this actually done (except perhaps by mistake). Seriously kid, if you actually fought you would already know that.

  • @legomyeggo123 I'm going to guess that you're probably a kid and think you know what you're talking about because there is no way that somebody who has even a class or two at a decent gym would know that a kick comes in too fast. That's why you check kicks- lifting the knee/pointing the elbow is a very quick motion, and is easily completed between seeing the kick and the kick landing. This isn't even muay thai. Find it being used even once and I'll say he's right.

  • @jack91x ok now i see what you are talking. hmm you have a point...

maybe he's just showing street fighting not muay thai? idk

  • @jack91x No way in hell would I depend on the drop my knee and catch a kick over my head technique in a real situation. That's an old, old master technique from a bygone era. But it, no matter what our shared opinion on it is, it is a muay boran defensive technique. Some of the muay boran/muay chaiya stuff doesn't wok in modern combat, but I wanted to provide some context. What I teach is not meant for the ring, and there's always a counter to any strike, and then a counter to that.

  • @whotookdonnierules So wait... You're posting a video showing a technique that you admit would never work in real life? I studied Muay Boran in Phuket, and continued that education while in the military. None of the styles that I have seen involve teaching techniques that even the teacher admits are useless. This seems to me to be an example of somebody claiming to know how to do something, and then clearly demonstrating (and even admitting) that their technique is useless.

  • @jack91x just curious, how long did you do muay boran for?

  • also yesterday i round kicked someone in the stomach they grabbed my leg, but i spun round and kicked them in the face with my other leg,

  • as if youre going to be fast enough to dodge a decent kick from someone in a fight, maybe idiots,

  • excelente video uno de los mejores q he visto

  • are u you a master on Muay Boran?

  • if you cannot take this information and interpret it properly in a real time environment , you will definitely have a whole mess of issues while trying to use it against an opponent. There are a few flaws and mess ups in this video but I find it to be very interesting and valuable.

  • En situation réelle, tes deux premières techniques sont de la merde. Le reste , cela se fait.

  • muay thai kick so fast !! the speed around 200KM per hour ?? how to dodge??

  • Nice techniques. One I saw somewhere (not muay thai may be but good) was like:

1 You step in towards his thigh where u block his kick by forearms. There the kick isn't at high velocity.

    2. Grip the blocked leg at the thigh/knee itself & use other hand (inline of his main body) to simply push at his chest. Grab shirt, jerk him front & back and then make it a diagonally downwards angular push to send him down with extra effect.

Hope that helps. Well done in the vid.

  • holy shit! a fucking stussy shirt! i havent seen those in like 20 years lol

  • This is not related to the Clip but very important to anyone who like Muay thai.

This is So GOD Damn Shameless !!! Korea try to claim Muay Thai as one of Korean martial art.

    /watch?v=qflIr2oOpf4&feature=p%ADlayer_embedded

This is Clearly Muay Thai !!!

Even the Short of one of the Boys in sparring has Thai Alphabet on it.

Now I know why many people hate Korea.

People, please spread the news of this Cultural plagiarism to everyone

    in Anyway you could !!!!!

  • hey donnie... can u show us some way to get out of a perfect clinch?

cuz it really is a trouble when the guy u fighting is also an mt fighters and when swimming across his clinch dont work.... ur arms just kinda give up on u after a couple tries to get out...

please i need ur help ^^ best regards

  • I like Donnie B's vids, he's so fluent with his movements, I wish I was at his gym cause I like a mixture of modern and old techniques, thanks bro for such great vids.

I did Muay Thai for a year, but I'm daily practitioner of anything, Don vids also help me out. Thanks again.

  • you sir have one of the MOST BEAUTIFUL kicks i have ever seen in my life. graceful, smooth, and most of all very VERY SOLID :) i am inspired by you sir, keep up the inspiring :) peace

  • Id like to see donnie demonstate his skills against yodsanklai

  • ok so after you use your spider man sense to go under a kick you crab his leg then but fuck him, got it

  • Hey...

    i´ve got a question :)

how do you train your reactions ?

  • @ITaSeRI depends if you wanna train your eye reaction (catching the start of a move) or body reaction (reacting after seeing the move)

  • Yes Donnie your vids do qualify for ridiculous.

  • What utter bs, donnie b you suck.

  • Please try to catch a REAL kick on this way.. then tell me how do you feel...

It works just if you know your opponent moves (like your mate does)

This tecnique could work just oh the TV..

P.S. I'm really sorry for my low english

  • I am pretty sure this guy has never really tried to block kicks with his arms.... the shin bone is much thicker and stronger then the arms bones.... if you try to block a round house kick with your forarm.... dont be surprised if you damage your hand muscles/wrist or even a fractured or broken bones in the forearm... if it doesnt hit the bone it will hirt the arms muscles... My wrists still hurts from revieving a kick trough focus pads when i was holding it wrong.. imagine no pads... ouch....

  • This is good shit only a fool or someone who doesnt train would think otherwise, count yourself lucky this is even on youtube, thanks donnie b. can anyone recommend any muay boran style fighters to watch on youtube?

  • Listen to Ephasm everyone he speaks the truth!.

  • Listen to Ephasm everyone he seaks the truth!.

  • lol since when do you go for their back in muay thai? i been doing muay thai for 11yrs and i can tell you now, those take downs arent in it lol

  • That's just unrealistic... Most fighters wouldn't do that in an actual fight. Nice idea though. Is this even a real Thai Boxing gym? Looks like YMCA Karate...

  • @DanHPerkins agreed, doesnt look like a real gym

  • i cant tell if this guy is joking or not.. try blocking a muy thai kick with ur forearm and c what happens haha.. wow

  • @ephasm Hooray! I qualify for "ridiculously bad" status.

  • @whotookdonnierules yup. Hey, I don't know you, you could be a lovely guy man and I've nothing against you - but these videos are bad. And that seems to be the general opinion of a good deal of the worlds' best farang nak muay. Yes, they've seen the videos, including a few thais that I know as well. The opinions are not positive.

  • @whotookdonnierules Show us fighters that you can apply what you got in real time.If your system works in a muay thai or mma competition say 7 times out of 10 (aka you bring home a win) then I will personally adopt your system. My Name is Harley Slocum, and Im an amateur fighter with a record of five wins and three loses. And for the record I don't think you are rediculously bad, I like the videos.I wish they were a lil slower though, with more precision and detail.THNX

  • @whotookdonnierules i hate to bother but i really want to learn a type of martial arts i was thinking of taking muay thia but im not sure because i wanna learn something that i can use as self defence and that has take downs i also want to learn how to take hits would you recommend muay thia to me or a different kind of martial arts?

  • @mcdrummonkey wing chun bro. wing chun is primarily a defensive art, based around energy conservation

  • @whotookdonnierules IGNORE THAT TROLL LOL GREAT VID

  • @ephasm

  • @ephasm You can't learn Muay Boran completely by watching youtube videos. But the videos are great, if you're a beginner and need an once-over .. btw great videos.

  • @PascalxSome this isn't muay boran. its muay thai. And you can't learn anything from videos until you already have a good base of knowledge in which to apply it before then practicing it and refining it on your own. In this case, the stuff donnie advocates most of the time is simply ridiculous technique and will get you seriously hurt if you do it against another fighter.

  • @ephasm hm i did muay thai just for serveral weeks.. not rly long.. but i wanted to start again.. and i thought this videos aren't as bad as you describe...but okay. i won't say too much about muay thai or muay boran , cause i don't know much about it.

  • @ephasm You've hit the nail on the head completely here, most of the people who actually think these videos are good probably have very little experience in muay thai and don't understand properly. Can people PLEASE go to a PROPER muay thai gym or even better thailand and realize that no-one respectable in muay thai uses these techniques, on my profile i've favourited a video of saiyok (a top fighter) fighting under old style rules with no gloves and the fight does not resemble these videos.

  • @ephasm i bet he can beat ur ass

  • Very nice stuff.

  • in a real fight, there is barely anybody can reflex with all those moves

  • this kick is PERFECT for short people

  • One thing with this, is if your in the ring, thai boxers lift their knee to the same height if they doing a simple round house or a high kick so its hard to read which will be the effective defense.

Id like to see the fighter throw a kick with full force behind it and see if you can hook it without it taking you off balance as well?

  • @FluffMuncher This is the old art. The training was not about moving around on the balls of your feet but lots of low stance stance work, more akin to silat of ka'li

  • @FluffMuncher I'd never ever use that overhead hook technique in either a match or a real situation...way too risky and way to diff to pull off. I just demoed a number of methods to defend against muay thai kicks (some much more effective than others).

  • this is fuckin awesome

  • Well the best way is to block with the shin;)

  • @MegaGlobalwarrior Yeah but thats for a round house to your torso, you cant block a head kick with your shin! ;)

  • the most basic an efective defense i use is slow it down with one arm at the same time dashing forward to so close even knee is hand an pay with my elbows. the kick wil barely land

  • mit einem stüssy shirt lol

  • I dont really think this is Muay Boran.

  • For some reason, Donnie reminds me of jesse eisenberg from the Social Network. Really Weirdd. But obviously Donnie can Jesse's ass for sure.

  • my god... why dun i see thai fighter doing demos... why is it always US ppl -,-..... and if u think u are that good go try fighting baukaw.... u think u can catch his high kicks ? -,-

  • BLAH BLAH BLAH and more BLAH BLAH BLAH, now i sound like all of them.

  • bro u r the coolest trainer.

  • are this martial art are thai boxing or muay boran ?

  • @parlachinchilla These techniques originated in Muay Boran.

  • 1:37 the nuts the nuts ! get the nuts!

  • I'd love to see this guy try this in a real fight lol, theres no way this d-bag would be able to catch any real kicks

  • @mykeybaby06 You really shouldn't underestimate fighters

  • i realy enjoyed watching these videos there are alot of tec. here i would not suggest a newcomer trying to learn these moves without guidence from a qualfied teacher and the teacher would most likely start him at the begining its always best to get the basics down pat beforelearning the boran style really there are not to many people in this country who are well versed in muay boran so it gets watered down alot good luck to you young guys starting to learn muay thai. put the work in practice

  • hey dude i want to learn muay thai you think u can teach me???

  • i dont know where else to ask this but can you please give me some tips when sparring? I get nervous and flinch and turn my head around. any tips will be appreciated

  • @Og3990 stay relaxed dont be afraid your pretty much maken up stories when you fear gettin hit if you dont fear gettin then you can stay available to react accordingly yu should try doin sum exercises like lettin sumone throw punches at your face your better letting sumone with skill throw them at your face..so they can stop before it in the beginning n not knock yu out n not blinking instead watch the punch n maybe work your way up to slipping them then parrying then sparring

  • this takes alot of practising, something i wouldnt try as a newbeginner in a real life fight. Sucks to get that leg in your head, cause you are too slow to get down under his leg.

  • great stuff.really awsome to see those muay boran moves in action

  • ooohhh, yeah some of these moves were used by Tony Jaa in Tom-Yom_Goong, awesome :D

  • these moves are awesome :D

  • thats not the real muay boran only the end... but good vid.

  • what a nonsense common guys this is not muay thai in real or in the ring

  • lol "from here i can actually go to his nuts" hahahah

  • You Americans don't know muay boran. No offense I was talking to the guy in the video and he sucks I can kick his ass any day. Btw I'm thai

  • So... you wanna be my ragdoll I knock around in a video?

    DO I!?

  • WOOOOW AMAZING!!

  • This makes it look quite easy to counter someone's muay thai/lerdrit kick with significant impact. I have always thought this was the case. What's your experience and knowledge tell you. Is it as easy as it looks to effectively counter the muay thai/lerdrit angle kick? Or is years of practice required for these counters? Just curious because I know how devestating that brand of angle kick can be and it would be nice to think that countering it so effectively is easy.

  • @TheJocrozier Timing and the other guy telegraphing the strike play a big part. These angle kicks are usually used as low. inside leg kicks. In that case the easiest counter is evasion with your footwork - ideally, the J-turn. Blocking a kick is the laat thing you want to do. No matter how bad ass you are, shin to shin blocks hurt. Instead, start thinking about how you can get inside the range of the kick. I involved triangulation footwork and pivoting (and getting close to your attacker).

  • @whotookdonnierules

im sorry dude, but what you do at 1:13 would never ever work. not only would the timing be virtually impossible, but you leave your head completely open. If you miss judge it for a lower kick you are a gonner. Your first technique you showed was much better.

  • @docbach329 I agree! That technique is for demos and movies. No way I'd use that in a real situation. IMHO, the more basic it is, the effective (usually) is.

  • @whotookdonnierules

ha ha. oh good. I was worried about the well being of your head there for a minute. I was always taught to either counter or move away from the kicks power then block it. I flipped on this video and I see the guy doing the exact oposite. Moving to the power of the kick, not blocking, not countering. I was like. O_O lol

  • @TheJocrozier to make those moves effective in a real fight, with a strong thai kick you need years and years and years and one day ...mmmm no, more years it is not as easy as it looks

  • @juljalala I gotta agree, the kicker isnt even kicking with speed.

  • @rottekjottkebab or not atleast has fast as he can

  • come on !! you've beed learing Muay Thai/Boran from a book ? plzz don't be kidding me... at least some moves ... . Besides that u move your elbow too high and have unprotected ribbs... sorry.

  • look at this fuckn white dude wants to be Taiwanese

  • How to defend a push kick :O?

And how about holding his leg, hit his leg with the elbow, turn around give him an elbow to the head? :)

  • comone thats a highkick...esay to make any shit about that, do it with a lowkick ;D

  • I feel sorry for the asain guy he is acting like a dumbass for this video

  • this is boring shit

  • you sound like mike cera or w.e the main character's name is in superbad

  • The kick/sweep at 0:45 :

I tried it in sparrings but it works just an opponent is lighter than me or equal weight

never could succes it vs larger opponent .

am I missing something when executing this move? ?

  • @darkgreensoldier666 i know nothing about muay thai cuz im just starting but i have a back ground in BJJ, for your sweep, kick more toward his ankles and not his knee for a sweep. Aim for your kick to go 90 with his ankle, this will chop out his leg. Another technique you can do is to actually hook his ankle with your foot, and then its more of a pulling motion, not really a striking motion. Hope this helps

  • I used to get bullied at school I always got beat up and called names. so I started kick boxing. and when this dick came up to me I just thought fuck it I'll do a head kick on him he went on the floor and was bleeding. he didn't get back up but I got kick out of my school. and for anyone else who gets bullied you fuckin straighten them out don't worry about what the teachers say. stick up for yourself.

  • @152jonster015 That is very true, i too got bullied and beat up at school, until i started to exercise, train m.a and weapons like knives and kubatons and such implements. No one ever tryed to beat me once i almost broke one's neck. Lying down and hoping for the best is not an option, making things the best is the way to go, if to do so is required sweat blood tears and fighting, so be it. May honor be with you.

  • @152jonster015 Same story here ;) Keep it up. Dont be a pussy, be a warrior.

    Greeting

  • @152jonster015 That´s called defense. The thing is that you must defend yourself and not let the anger kill your opponent, just end the fight, by finishing it with haste.

  • your movement is so fluid how long have you done this and how much did you train

  • this guy dont know how to do it man i trained 3 years of muay boran and i have not seen worser then him

  • "again sir" - that's just hilarious.

  • haha you cant catch real kick, fat ass :)))

  • you sound like michael cera.

  • @ArcReforged He does haha

  • those are all readyy good techniques but not practicle... if your timing is slightly off your knocked straight out everytime. excluding the one where you grabbed the leg and spun him from the 45 degree i think it was

  • awesome moves!

  • how do you know hes always gonna throw a headkick he can fake it throw a kick a little lower and its game over, this technique sucks "its difficult to have a rehearsed routine to fit in with broken rythym"

    ( senza rancore ;) )

  • I learned a really great technique using a great book. I practiced and practiced for months and soon the day came when I would use it. A guy punched me in the face. I cried and then remembered the book. I got the book and threw it at him - feckin knocked him clean it it was a great book - heavy - but great.

    All hail the heavy book...

  • @AnEclecticMusicFan I love it!

  • @AnEclecticMusicFan

    I laughed.

  • @AnEclecticMusicFan THAT WAS FUNNY

  • @AnEclecticMusicFan I loled

  • @AnEclecticMusicFan I just cancelled my mma gym membership, whats the name of the book?

  • @ljuarez714 Unfortunately my sensei said I have to keep the book (All Hail the heavy book) name secret otherwise I will die in a nasty accident like the great Bruce Lee. So I can't tell you the name of the book (All hail the heavy book) - BUT - since you are a friend I can tell you that the name of an equally devastating book (All don't hail this book). The name of the equally heavy book is "My Great Jumbo Colouring Book: 80 Big Pictures to Colour"

  • @AnEclecticMusicFan Οhhh !!! I can think how devastating will be ... Bruce Lee knew the best moves so his opponents / enemies in real life killed him to have their mind clean ... SO YOUR SENSEI is RIGHT !!!

    Don't reveal the name ... !!!

  • @AnEclecticMusicFan you fucking asshole

  • @danny72341 the coment was intended for juaez714 i hate reading dumb shit about a serous conversation grow up

  • good,..

  • did they not bother checking back in the day? i imagine your methods are alot quicker at ending the fight with a victory rather than delaying it.

  • Donnie b is the real deal - Ive been in a few street fights in my time and I have trained with this guy . No BS these guys teach the real deal . If you are lucky enough to train with them you will understand what I mean.

  • Some of these moves are hard to do and are very risky. I mean how many people are gonna duck down under a speeding kick. Move out of the way or use a shin block into a spinning back kick.

  • From here i can throw it in the nuts xD 1:36

  • hi,i have a stupid question.when u strike with a low kick, you actually use the tibia/shin right.when u block a low kick.you raise the knee and do u block the kick with your tibia?it's kinda painful to block the kick with a tibia.i was just wondering if i'm blocking the kick in the right way, even if i'm getting hurt

  • rich 100% correct...

  • Its so funny how a american guy trys to teach a foreign style of fighting and knowing he knows a few years about it wasnt raised doing that and only that so my advice i wouldnt learn from this guy you got a little skills but you are not ready to train sorry thats my thoughts

  • @jae2rich i agree with u

  • supposably most asian martial arts nowdays you can really find those true masters to teach you and therefore i don't think people need to feel obligated to say who they learnt it from, i mean most modern day type martial arts are learnt through "corporations" and organisations and they'll give you belts and certificates but yeah. its the contrast between old school and new age.

  • I always wondered why ppl tend to throw high kicks ? Power yea... lucky shot could KO easily. But aren't they mostly useless against someone who atleast fought once since they are so easy to catch or avoid?

Is there a point training them?

  • Well when you practice high it makes your low kicks much stronger. Also, saying their useless is going a little too far. Watch Buakaw (spelling sorry) i would say the guys he fights have experience. But with any move its about tricking your opponent. Look to down as if you were going to throw low then surprise him/her. It really depends on the situation which can change rapidly during a fight.

  • For some strange reason, every time I see a roundhouse kick, I have an urge to do a front kick to the groin. These moves are pretty cool though.

  • @GetDamage This is a very great urge to feel... Nothing like the basics!!!!

  • @GetDamage well son, u need to control that shit lol

  • Another great video bro..

  • hey i am really confused what is muay boran or ledrit can someone clarify that for me? they say tony jaa fights a style called muay boran but he looks like he fights with the style ledrit. also wasnt he trained by Colonel Amnat Pooksrisuk. isnt doesnt he do ledrit like what your showing. but when i look up muay boran it comes up with this school called sitsiam camp. so which one is considered in thai muay boran?

  • ledrit is basically military version of muay thai

  • you're in luck, there's this guy on here named Antonio. He has a few videos with Tony Jaa's teacher. His youtube sc name is Brooklynmonk. He has a bunch of muay boran and other ancient southeast martial arts videos. You can find his account on my friends list.

  • Hey Donnie, love the videos. Old style really doesnt get the coverage it should now adays.

Just wanted to ask 2 questions. Firstly, where did you train? Do you have a really long catalogue of martial arts experience?

And second, what is your opinion/teaching on counteracting slugfests? See it in sparring and MMA far too often, the art goes out the window and everyone just starts swinging. Ruins the sport. Clinch up or try to keep distance and watch for overhands, etc?

  • @proinmaking I have asked a couple times for Donnie's training history, where he learned Boran/Lerdrit techniques, and never gotten a response. I like all of his videos and his blog is great, I am just skeptical when someone starts a school and offers 'certification' in something, especially if they do not disclose their training history, who they learned from, etc.

  • I just saw this comment - Firstly, I don't own a school and I don't offer or sell any certifications at all. I'm a senior instructor at the Muay Thai Academy International, where I teach for no pay, I volunteer my time. Where did I learn this? I've spent 15 years training under Nirmalya Bhowmick, a co-founder of the USMTA. He spent years training under masters in Thailand and throughout SE Asia. Our unorthodox MT is endorsed by USMTA & World Muay Thai Council. But pedigree does not make the man.

  • I appreciate your reply Donnie. It is just VERY difficult to find information on Lerdrit techniques, and I jumped to the false conclusion that you were the owner of your school. On a different note, I have heard that Lerdrit only uses open palm strikes, in order to preserve the hand from getting its bones broken in a combat situation. Is this true, and if so could you maybe post a video demonstrating how the Thai military might train such techniques?> Thanks
