I lost an uncle and watched my grandpa limp all his life till he died and I’m sure people lost more as a result. My parents and other relations have forgotten about Biafra and moved on. How can i support such?

My parents have contributed water, electricity, a computer school and a health center to the community of Eziama Ntigha and have helped widows in Mbaise and I am determined to follow in their footsteps after they've gone 'cos i do care about my people. We do not need charities or aid. If you think about it we really are not poor people but we are held down by the backwardness and darkness called Nigeria. Or is it inter-marrying ? I really do not know but the hate amongst ourselves must stop for us to progress as we should. We all have something to offer Nigeria if given the chance. Lastly why do we not fix Nigeria. Igbo and Yoruba understand your neighbours the south of Nigeria can easily balance the power of the North. Also we must reach to our brothers in the middle belt who share so many cultural ties with us. In this day and age Biafra or Oduduwa republic is a very simplistic solution.

realistically all africans are not one,biologically we are one.this implies to nigeria where you have the yoruba,igbo,and hausas.the igbos i mean is the east,niger dalter,and some part in middle belt.yorubas are out of the question they are not part of us.you talked about history,good,maybe you go read the biafran history and know why we try to secede and roll of awolowo,obasanjo and other yorubas played for our demise.

The problem is not Nigerian tribes it is our leaders and how they relate to the west. It is also our lack of education about each other that enables us to be incited to harm our brothers. Biafran anthem in english? Were we not heading the same way as Nigeria? Perhaps on a smaller scale.Still withIn the boundaries of BIafra ,we do not relate with each other as we should(.Like brothers) All over Nigeria communities of the same tribal groups engage in violent conflict. Is dividing the answer?

Am I Igbo or Kalabari? I am both. Like most of us. We have been mixing with each other for centuries. Civil war was an ugly and horrific part of our history but we won't be the first country to survive a civil war. We all had a hand in it but the Igbo suffered the most. My family supported Biafra. Biafra could have been a shinning star of Africa. But would it have been free from tribalism I seriously doubt it. Would the miniority tribes be looked on as sabotuers or as brothers.

I greet all my Biafran and Nigerian brothers and sisters( We are brothers and sisters). So you can understand my lack of bias I will tell you my ethnic origins otheriwse it should make no differrence the truth is the truth. I am Kalabari (eastern Ijaw) with an Aro grandmother on my fathers side and a mother from Onitsha area. As you can see my blood is mostly Igbo though my tribe is Kalabari. I believe alot of Biafrans and Nigerians have such mixed parentage even if its their grand parents.

@teyanam, you are not the Niger Delta(Which the Igbo constitutes a significant portion of) and you are not their spokesperson. Those who do not want to join Biafra have a right to go and live on with Nigeria. When the time comes, if it does the right way a referendum will be held. Do you know that the bad roads Biafrans are complaining about are federal roads? Anambra spent more than $8 billion dollars building and repairing federal roads and has never got the refund. Biafrans unequivocally demand the immediate release of all Biafran political activists and nationalists who are still held in Nigeria's dungeons (mislabelled jails or prisons) . We also demand the trial of Olusegun Obasanjo and all other agents of Nigeria under his government that were directly involved in the death of Biafra's freedom agitators, and Biafrans in general.
